Either there's a variation in how much the iPad Air 2 can vibrate or else this is way over blown. Get over it!
I'd only be upset if some didn't at all. What a tiny thing to get so worked up over.![]()
I do use the built-in speaker - I used it to watch an episode of the Trailer Park Boys the other night.Maybe it's a tiny thing to YOU but for those that use the built in speaker may find this very annoying.

You're right, some people might find it annoying but people are making it out to be much worse than it actually is.
Wow glad that I've always used my headphones when using the iPad from the first generation. I'm no audiophile but listening to music I love on those terrible speakers never hit the spot for me.
For those returning have you thought of investing in some Bluetooth speakers like the jambox or is that too much of a hassle? Just curious.

I think the speaker on the new iPad air 2 is amazing. The sound is never been louder and I don't mind the additional bass.
I just don't get all the backlash? I can understand being surprised because no other iPad has experience the vibrations like the new one, the first time I felt it and heard I was surprised.
I mean anyone has a right to return for any reason. I completely respect that decision. But, for me, I certainly do not agree.
Totally Agree...Yes I notice the vibration but it's no big deal. The improved sound is worth it.
People that don't mind might start to one and if it turns out to be a build quality issue and we get iPad air 2.1
Glad I returned mine.i

I love the louder , better quality sound and don't care AT ALL about vibrations (it adds to the experience). I'll be upset IF Apple lower the bass in an update!
I took a tube of silicone sealant and filled the bottom of my iPad two through those vent looking things. It is SOOO much quieter now and no vibration at all!.I mentioned the vibration to the Apple guy when I swapped my wifi 16gb for the 64gb cellular version. He didn't appear at all surprised and just remarked that 'they all do that' referring to the demo units which I believe are all wifi only versions.
The new iPad has less vibration compared to my earlier one. I would say it feels about 50% less and although is still far more that my Air it is acceptable.
Whether I just had a particularly bad first iPad or the cellular option makes a difference I don't know.
Did a few sound comparisons between the Air and the Air 2 and I struggled to tell the difference. To my old ears they both sounded much the same and not bad for a tablet.
The down side of the swap is that the screen does not seem as vibrant as the 16gb one. Very suble but noticeable. Ah well, can't win them all!

I'm guessing there are more people returning for the vibration than buying for the improved sound.
I would think you could design in both if done properly. Better sound that comes through the speaker ports rather than through the entire device. I can't think of a single handheld device designed to delivery vibration other than a video game controller. The ifixit teardowns show almost no damping on the speaker modules.
