iPad iPad Air 2 - US LTE (cellular) Status/Shipping/Delivery Updates

I once found myself fuming at 9am on release date of a new iPhone (3GS, I think) wondering why my first-in-line pre-order still said preparing for shipment on the day it was supposed to be arriving.

Then 9:15 rolled around and the doorbell rang. Phone delivered in hand and the site STILL said preparing for shipment.
 
This thing is just not moving at all. I'm now within the delivery window and not even a charge on my credit card.

Still preparing to ship. My reference number only pulls up my case that's coming via Fedex... I've only used track by reference with UPS. Does Fedex pull up both shipments usually when you have two?
 
Just a word of warning to those using the FedEx track by reference:

Unless your tracking info shows the package has been picked up by FedEx and is actually in their possession, the tracking info is not meaningful. I have, already associated with my zip/phone, one canceled shipment order with a new one created.

Maybe I will get my device on the date this one indicates. Maybe it will be cancelled again for whatever reason and a new one created that schedules delivery for Monday. No way to know yet!

So try not to get too excited until FedEx or whomever has your package in hand. </giggity>

If you don't get a change by Sunday night I would worry but otherwise you are still ok. Monday is still within your delivery window. Mine still shows processing and my window is 24th to 28th. I won't start worrying until the 27th at night if I don't see a status change.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up. AT&T has ALWAYS given very conservative time frames for shipping, and they get their orders in way earlier then expected. But I'm wondering if this is one of those cases of where their shipping time frame is going to be very accurate.
 
The Fedex scan times are wonky for me (and I know the shipment is tenuous and not official until they pick it up and Apple notifies me).

Though I'm still at the 'shipment info sent to fedex' stage, it said the scan was at 7:44a (local), 12:44p (origin), 5:44a (destination). Thing is, I'm just 50mi away from the origin location, Rialto. So their local and origin scans are 2hrs off. Weird.

Yeah, scan times are weird, especially when it's not even really a physical scan, since FedEx doesn't have the packages yet. I wouldn't agonize about about it.
 
Got my label from FedEx, shipping overnight from Rialto. Apple still shows it preparing to ship.

Does anyone know - if it's weekday overnight and no one is here to sign, will it automatically be available for Saturday pickup, or do I need to request that? Thanks.

Yes, call up FedEx ASAP once a delivery attempt appears on your online tracking and you can make the arrangements.

Alternatively, once tracking shows it's in FedEx possession you can call up have have it delivered to a local FedEx Office for p/u.
 
Well, my new sleeve that wasn't supposed to get here until next week just arrived... Now just waiting on that iPad!
 
Apple just notified me iPad has shipped

Should deliver tomorrow, Dallas. I have tracking number, FedEx says label created.

Both of my 128gb Space Gray LTE models have shipped as of 3:38 am (label created, delivery 10/24)

I hope that Fedex will hold for pickup without having to make one delivery attempt. In the past, they've refused to hold an Apple delivery until they make at least one delivery attempt. Aggravating since I work very close to the Fedex delivery hub, and I can stop in on my way to work and pick it up.
 
West coast / CA. Ordered about 15 minutes after the store opened. iPad air 2 and iPad mini 3 cellular 128gb. Changed to shipped status, expected delivery Friday 10/24.

Wow, screw off AT&T. 3 week shipping time frame when they say 4-6 business days on the manufacturer's web site? I literally ordered an hour and a half after pre orders went live too.
 
Come on Apple/Fedex, make my shipment official! I keep refreshing, only to see "Shipment information sent to FedEx" :(

This is what I don't understand at all from AT&T. How does a device that only has a few days lead time on Apple's website be so back-ordered on AT&T's site? It's as though AT&T wont have any stock of these iPad's from Apple until next week.

Maybe Apple is shipping AT&T a batch at the same time, then AT&T has to break down the pallets, receive it in, process the orders, and then ship them back out. That is the only thing I could conceive as happening for the reason of this delay.

Unfortunately I think this may be the case. I remember when I got mine last year it was shipped with USPS, which isn't normal for normal Apple orders.
 
Preparing, preparing... still preparing... :(

Air 2 64GB SG shipping to DC. Ordered at 11:26 am Eastern on the 17th. Delivers Oct. 22-24.
