Decided to go with a PowerBook instead of an iPad. For English essays, I don't think the iPad will be efficient enough.![]()
I thought the iPad would be perfect, but worries about stock shortages and the work ergonomics of the device sorta turned me off. Anyway, the specs aren't that bad for a PowerBook. 1.67GHz processor, 512 ram (going to get an upgrade for that), 15" widescreen.

iWork was released today in the UK, so I bought Pages, Keynote and Numbers. £18, ouch!
Still - the quality of these applications is superb. You could easily write an essay using Pages, especially with an external bluetooth keyboard or the keyboard dock from Apple. It's an amazing experience - no sarcasm intended.
I wouldn't call it "light" content creation either. You can do some serious work using the iPad's "iWork" suite (although you'll need an external keyboard to get the most out of it).
Hey guys, just wondering...I received one of the vodafone payg data sim cards today from eBay, but didn't know how you top it up! Is it possible or do you have to just keep buying more of them??? Thanks a lot.
You can buy a Voda topup or register it as long as you know the number.
If you dont know that then stick the sim into an unlocked or a vodafone handset and enter *#100# and it will tell you the number.

Hi, thanks for that, but I can't get the number because I believe the sims from eBay are data only cards which can't do calls and stuff. Does anyone know wether can top this type up??? Thanks
I've been watching macrumors for a couple of years before I joined, but now I ve got to get out ( due to personal reasons)
Especially this thread with it's lack of trolling and the perfect attitude towards humor was a real joy for me.
I hope everybody in here gets his iPad tomorrow and will enjoy it, as I have mine..
Bye
