For those that were wondering and asking when the stores will open. I have had an email from Apple that says 8am on Friday. This is exactly the same time that they opened for the 3GS launch. At the Trafford Centre they opened one of the doors at least an hour before that. Anyone going to queue at one of the Apple stores in Trafford Centre or similar, I suggest you ring the centre and ask for customer services to find out when they are letting people in and which entrance.

iBooks App Available

Good morning :)

Just a quick note to say the iBooks app is now available on the UK iTunes Store. No sign of the iWork apps which I find a little odd. I reckon they will be priced at £5.99 each when they do show up. I still don't get why Apple doesn't do a bundle of some kind, ah well.

Just tried the iBooks app. It's very nice and does come with Winnie the Pooh here in the UK. I could only see the free books available so far.

It's been available since last week, but as you say, nothing to buy yet. :)

No it hasn't. I meant the app to download from the desktop iTunes and it wasn't there yesterday. Nice to know Winnie the Pooh is on there though, it'll be nice to read with children I look after.

You didn't specify. I'm talking about the one on the App Store on the iPad itself. I used it last week when the U.K. iPad App Store went live.

Correction (Very late night last night): You did specify, and I misunderstood what you said. Sorry!

Hehe, don't worry about it. :) I can't get why iWork wasn't released at the same time though. If they wanted a grand unveiling of the dual app store, why release iBooks early? Ah well, in 72 hours I should be on my shiny new iPad.

PreOrdered iPad from France has also been shipped.

Just received the confirmation by Apple.
It should be there on Friday

I just called Apple customer services about my 'estimated delivery' showing no date and he implied some may ship early. The guy confirmed the package would be delivered on or before the 28th, I made reference to the fact it was an iPad and the launch was Friday and he said "it could come before". It's highly unlikely but it won't stop me from getting excited about it! Apparently the lack of date is due to their tracking system not being accessible at the minute, but I haven't been able to track my parcel from the start whilst others have.

What do people think about the post above where someone in Italy has already received theres? Surely it's an import and not an early delivery....?

Is anyone else a little bit sheepish about buying such an expensive device? im 24 and not exactly in the money, but I just had to get one. All of my friends are aghast about how much I paid for what it actually does. Dont know why, but I feel a little embaressed about it! Still, bring on Friday :D

Sorry to be a bore, but could someone post explicit instructions on tracking UPS and TNT (including URLs, screen options and which code to use)?

I've gotten nothing but 'Not found' how ever I try, even though Apple say it's destined for the 28th...

Thanks tons in advance...

Then your tracking number isn't going to work. You are with the majority in this. Those who do have tracking info have their iPads coming from China, you do not. You could try and try and try and it won't work (trust me, I have tried!) :)

How to track your order

First, go to the Apple Store and in the top left click Account > Order Status.

After typing in your password and stuff, you should see your iPad order (and any other orders you have) on the screen.

You should see "Shipped on: suchandsuchadate," Below that there should be "Estimated Delivery:" Below that there should be a 9 digit number, copy this number.

Go to: http://www.tnt.com/webtracker/tracker.do?navigation=1&respLang=en&respCountry=gb and paste the number.

Wow, mine says its been delivered to Labasa. I googled it and its a town in Fiji. Hahahahahah what the hell.
