Oh, well you better go shop somewhere else. Apple doesn't design to your specifications.
Or yours, so get lost?
How about these choices;
  • include the capability and only use it if you want.
  • Don’t include the capability at all.
Which is the better device that might attract more sales?
Nice try BTW.

No rumours of Force Touch? I saw that it was rumoured for the iPad Pro. I was hoping it would come to both iPads.
By the end of the year, I expect Force Touch for everything iOS/OS X in the mobile product lines except (ironically) the iPod Touch.

Hopefully they're also working on some kind of Force Touch pad for the other Macs such as the iMac. I would like to see them develop it into something like Wacom technology - the advantage being that as standard Apple hardware it will be utilized in many applications.

 what ... no 7.9 size ,,,

so 1 million kid age 2-5 they need to start learning how to hold big size 9.7 inches ... that not fair

my kid she like 7.9 more than 9.7

- fit her hand
- light weight
- fit most backpack or wallet purses

i'm not agree this decision ,,,:D

Did you even read the article? It states that there will be an iPad Mini 4 this fall, but after that it will be discontinued.

Anyway, the "1 million kid [sic] age [sic] 2-5" don't need to be using iPads that much.

I guess the world is not `fair` ,,,

I just want it to have the same color gamut as the full sized ipad that's supposed to be the same generation, and I want it to have the same specs. I'm so sick of the smaller versions being short-changed in specs almost to the point of being one generation behind.

I'm not buying the smaller devices to go cheaper. I'm buying them because their dimensions suit me better. I don't like being forced into a larger device that's more bother to carry around or use just because I want the best capability the current tech can offer. I'd gladly pay the same price as for the larger model if they differ only in dimensions.

For the tablet naysayers, I use my iPad in place of a laptop or desktop the past two years. I maintain a tower PC just for gaming, which I've not had time for now that I have to oversee increasingly more complicated schedules for various family members. I'm a multitasking mama and don't have the luxury of ensconsing myself in my home office and planting my butt in front of the computer. A lot of the time the only screen time I get is at my breakfast and lunch table or lying in bed or waiting somewhere for my kid to be done with lessons or sports or my elders to be done with the doctor.

I have a MacBook Pro but even that's too big for my needs. Most everything I used to do on a computer (with the exception of graphics work) I can now do on my iPad retina mini. By the way I dont know which mini I have. I lost track of the names and generations ages ago. I think it's the second generation, first generation with a Retina screen.

Sweet Cinnamon Buns, Apple, your naming conventions suck! Followed closely by Samsung which copies you.

IPad mini is not going to disappear. Should Ipad pro see the light of day, iPad Air automatically will become a mini ;).

Otherwise, why not just wait and see, what happens. My fingers are crossed for the pro.

So, does anybody else get the feeling that the Air 3 and Mini 4 will mirror the Air 1 and Mini 2 by both having the regular A9, maybe having the Air 3 with a higher clock rate? All the while the rumored pro would get the A9X. I feel like an upgrade from the A8X on the Air 2 to a possible A9 on the Air 3 won't be that big of a jump. Probably just runs more efficiently at a slightly higher clock speed.

What they meant is possibly that Mini 4 will be slimmer than Mini 3.

Ipad Air 3 with A9? Interesting. That means that A9 should have at least 3 cores and 2 GB of RAM. Back to A7 times where all lineup of Apple iOS devices had the same SoC?

Quad core, 2 GB with really fast and powerful GPU? I think its the time I will finally buy iPad Mini(4), and completely new iPhone(6S).
Yeah, I get the same feeling, but I think they will be sticking with a three cute processor and just having the chip be more power efficient. I don't see the A9 being a huge improvement over the A8X in terms of performance. The A9 will blow the A8 out of the water though.

Exactly my thoughts. Make the mini and the full size the same price with the same specs. There is no reason the mini should be cheaper except that they are wanting to sell me last years technology. I don't buy a mini just to save a $100. I buy it for the size and I want current technology.

Like someone mentioned earlier, the mini really is the ideal size. Apple shouldn't discontinue this size. The Air's sales have been decreasing - discontinue that.

The iPad is a declining business. Apple would be smart to move the iPad into at least a convertible device, while continuing to make flagship computers.

These incremental improvements is not going to create the demand necessary to really slow the decline in overall iPad sales growth, IMO.

I was thinking, how much smaller would they be able to make the iPad Air while still keeping the 9.7" size? If you compare the first iPads with the latest there is a difference in size, not just thickness. Kind of what they did with the MacBook 12" which is smaller than the MacBook Air 11". Maybe then they could get rid of the 7.9" iPad mini? Or better, why not just stick to a new 9" model to replace the current mini and Air ones? And just call it the "iPad" (like the 12" was called the "MacBook"). And keep the Pro at 12" or whatever.

I read the article, and no where did it say that the iPad Mini 4 will be the last iPad mini.

They could release iPad micro as well as iPad FlatScreenTV and it still won't help the shrinking sales figures. Too many current iPads sit on people's coffee tables without a purpose in life. Seemed cool in theory, not so practical in the real world.

And drop the 16GB model, making 32GB the standard.

Only reason to consider getting another iPad. $500 for a 16GB device is almost highway robbery at this point in 2015.

Its an iPad, its best device for looking at photos, watching movies, reading books, news, etc. at least that's what Apple markets it on the site and keynotes, yet people have to worry about having enough space to download new updates, storing their content, etc.

So should the 21" iMac have the same specs and cost the same as the 27"? Or how about the 13" and 15" rMBP? I would love to see the same specs but two different sized devices will never have the same price.
