I hate to keep bringing this up but I have to: are they going to mitigate the screen and chassis vibration problem that plagues the Air 2? If they do, I am SO in for the Air 3. If not, sorry, my wallet can't come out to play.

Just a little better internal sound buffering or something like is all it would take. Cmon Apple, you can do it.

:)

You always manage to blow me away by intentionally misunderstanding things for the purpose of making fun of somebody.
It's genuinely funny the first time someone deliberately parses the title wrong for comic effect.

It's sad when others then pile in, trying to rehash the (now) tired joke.

Hasn't the iPad Mini ALWAYS been a miniature sized iPad??? o_O

The iPad mini 3 is like generation behind the iPad Air 2. The display on the iPad mini 3 isn't as sharp as the air 2. It also only has 1gb ram whereas the air 2 has 2gb ram.

Even iPad mini 1 was a generation behind the iPad 4.

You do realize No one is forcing you to buy stuff on lauch day...

Never said that but I can't imagine Apple's software/hardware quality isn't affected by launching every major product within 8 weeks of each other. It's not hard to realize when you try to do everything at once, you won't get as good results as spreading them out.

why can't we have a hybrid laptop/ipad? my wife whenever she uses my macbook air tries to touch the screen and she always asks why her favourite apps wont run on it. why can't dashboard run apps?

How Long are people going to want something bigger, Bigger, BIGGER!!!
The iPad mini is amazing! I've been holding out for a true updated one.
In fact, I'm seriously considering ditching the iPhone in two years and possibly going iPad Mini only. And maybe a Light Phone with it.
I don't know if you were being facetious or serious...

but if serious, that is highly comical. You point out how people want something bigger, bigger and in the next breath talk about ditching an iPhone for a bigger iOS device.

... if you were being facetious, then please excuse my denseness. :)

really? don't think so. I'm suggesting i swipe to dashboard and on it are icons not tiles like on the iPad/iphone etc.
i click/tap on one and it pops into a full screen or windowed app. i have Xcode and have played with writing apps - you can run them on a mac quite easily so why not build the Xcode simulator functionality actually into os x as a feature?

The display on the Mini 3 is actually sharper than the Air 2 because sharpness refers to pixel density and it has the same resolution in a smaller screen. It has a lower colour gamut, which is annoying, but inevitable as it is necessary to conserve battery life.
And the original Mini did have some iPad 4 features, and the Mini 3 had one iPad Air 2 feature. Hopefully we will see at least one iPad Air 3 feature in the Mini 4.

Somebody help me finish this sentence:
"I'd love for there to be an iPad Air 3 this years because the Air 2..."

I had both iPad mini 3 and iPad Air 2. And the screen on my iPad Air 2 is definitely better.

Never said that the Mini 3 screen is better. I just said the pixel density is better, which is hardly noticeable. I can stand by your claim that the Air 2 screen is better. Loving the laminated display!

I hate the hollow sound when you tap on the iPad Mini 2 has a very plasticky sound/feel, I hope they fix that with the mini 4.

Sounds awesome. Can't wait for the final design. Smaller than the air should be a perfect fit.

Still in two minds if should get the iPad mini 4 when I have a iPad Air 2

Choice between that or the watch when I get an iphone

  • return of the physical mute switch that never should have been removed on the Air 2
  • add vibration for games, an odd omission considering it's promoted as a game platform and it makes gaming on the iPhone more fun
  • redesign the transition between glass and aluminum to be smooth like the iPhone 6 (the chamfered edge of the current design digs into my fingers)
  • stereo speakers in landscape mode, which is how I watch all videos
  • A9 with longer batter life, do not make it any thinner!

  • PS - I'd ask for a type cover, kickstand and integrated pen support, but it would be easier to buy a Surface Pro for the times I need those items! ;)

Indeed, S3 had massive sales and it was the worst phone I ever had.

But on topic: I wonder if iPad Pro is actually going to sell. Why buy a massive slate prone to breakage if you can have a laptop with touchscreen for the same price? (Not an Apple laptop, but still.)

iPad Mini seems to be a bit like iPhone 5C: "almost like the real thing but a bit cheaper" because Apple doesn't REALLY do cheap.

i won't be buying it

with the air 2 i have no need for it..it would be where i wouldn't use both. besides i already have a 12.2 note for s pen usage

My bf has an iPad Air 2. He will not be updating. There's no need to do so (until iOS 10 comes and cripples it). I have a 7" LG G Pad 7.0. Frankly speaking it's a bit **** but I only really use it to read books. I'd kinda really like an iPad Mini 3/4 but I just like it because it's pretty. I had an iPad 3 and sold it because I never used it.

I think the only way Apple could get a bigger share of the market, percentage-wise, would be to make a $99-149 iPad. Which isn't going to happen. But if the "analysts" looked at gross income from tablet sales, or at profits, the numbers would be quite different. I wouldn't be surprised if iPad sales profits are bigger than profits from all other tablets summed together.
