in the US of A here, you have 14 days in which you may return your purchase. Not so down under?I just bought a maxed out a M2 MAX 16 INCH MACBOOK PRO 7 DAYS AGO !! $6500.00 AUD !! Hello Apple I would like a refund....
The current iPad Mini already uses USB-CPeople keep giving me crap about wanting an Apple Silicon chip in an iPad mini and I am like, I just want all of my devices to use the same architecture (HWwise). Plus, USB-C? Come on, it’s a no-brainer for me. I know we might not have USB-C/TB4 but I would still want to be able to use a connection standard, be able to connect to things like storage, Ethernet adapters, ext monitors and be able to transfer data using a wired connection to a new iPad for instance.
I wonder if it will get a “regular” (non-“Pro”) version of the A17. Would be weird for Apple to release an A17 Pro and no other A17 chips until next year, assuming the base iPhone 16 gets the non-Pro A17.if mini release tmr it seem to use A17 pro not m3.
I refuse to buy an iMac WITHOUT target display mode. Bc hardware gets old faster than screens and I do love the iMac screens. I also like the idea of just using an iMac anywhere in the house so maybe a height adjustable iMac. That said on the whole I prefer the Monitor+Mac Studio setup OVER the iMac bc screens should last a long time. (Come on MiniLED iMacs!)Let's gooooo! So pumped. I am due for a MBP power upgrade and I'd love to replace the family computer with a new M3 iMac but it would be a instant purchase if they bring back target display mode to it!

No idea, I live in a country area and no Apple stores near me thus I order everything online direct from Apple Australia, in my 40 years of buying Macs I have never had this situation before, I read all the rumours and said no new MacBook Pros, and the day it turned up, I see Apple event pop up, UGH, I think its a bit rich that apple processed my order knowing full well these new M3 Macs were about to be released, and happily took my 6 grand, now I have to try and find a way to see if I can exchange it ? I AM VERY angry to be honest ! They should have delayed my order for a week, that would have been a better option.in the US of A here, you have 14 days in which you may return your purchase. Why don't you try contacting Apple for help? I'm pretty sure they will happily help you with the return process. https://www.apple.com/au/shop/help/returns_refundNo idea, I live in a country area and no Apple stores near me thus I order everything online direct from Apple Australia, in my 40 years of buying Macs I have never had this situation before, I read all the rumours and said no new MacBook Pros, and the day it turned up, I see Apple event pop up, UGH, I think its a bit rich that apple processed my order knowing full well these new M3 Macs were about to be released, and happily took my 6 grand, now I have to try and find a way to see if I can exchange it ? Nope. Well… I don’t know what Kuo said (so maybe), but Gurman said that those devices wouldn't be released this month (October). And unless Apple releases the devices immediately (same or next day) after that announcement, Gurman will be right about that. Those devices won’t get released in October.didn't Kuo and Gurman say that there was going to be no iPad at the Event? Or are they wrong about that again? Thank you, MR for digging for rumors this time! Although it is strange that there is no Magic Mouse in those reports, maybe a redesign upcoming?
Thanks for that, I tried that, even though I only got the MacBook on the 25th Oct, Apple have states its not available for return as I ordered it on the 14th? OFFS ! now I am really angry !!Why don't you try contacting Apple for help? I'm pretty sure they will happily help you with the return process. https://www.apple.com/au/shop/help/returns_refund
i think the mini is too small for the M3iPad Mini with M3 let’s goooooooooo

I’m sure what you meant to say was that you want the “M Series” Apple Silicon (rather than the “A Series” Apple Silicon the iPad Mini currently uses). If so: I would agree with you on that. I would also like an ”M Series” iPad Mini.People keep giving me crap about wanting an Apple Silicon chip in an iPad mini and I am like, I just want all of my devices to use the same architecture (HWwise). Good question though if the event if also about Mac gaming then would also make sense to put the a17 pro in the iPad mini . They can’t put the m3 in the air before the pros so maybe the air isn’t updated and just a press release later re m2 iPad airI wonder if it will get a “regular” (non-“Pro”) version of the A17. Would be weird for Apple to release an A17 Pro and no other A17 chips until next year, assuming the base iPhone 16 gets the non-Pro A17.
Is Apple trying to outdo Michael Jackson's Thriller debut? lol
Ahead of Apple's "Scary Fast" event on Monday at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, a regulatory database has potentially revealed at least some of the new products that will be announced, including new Macs and, dare we say it, maybe even a new iPad.
![]()
Last week, two Apple suppliers resubmitted filings to a Chinese regulatory database for batteries used in existing Apple products, including the latest 14-inch MacBook Pro, 16-inch MacBook Pro, Magic Keyboard for the Mac, and iPad mini, according to information discovered by MacRumors. All of the batteries had already been filed in the database in 2021 or earlier, and they were resubmitted last week with October 2023 issue dates.
Resubmitted battery filings can hint at new products. Just ahead of the Apple Watch Series 9 being unveiled, for example, MacRumors discovered that Apple Watch Series 8 batteries were resubmitted to the same regulatory database. Ultimately, the Series 8 batteries ended up being reused in the Series 9 models.
The new filings list the same battery capacities as the original filings, suggesting that Apple's new products will not have any battery capacity changes. Longer battery life is still possible as a result of new chips with power efficiency improvements.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman expects the 24-inch iMac to be updated with the M3 chip, and the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad accessories for the Mac are expected to be updated with USB-C charging ports instead of Lightning. Apple includes the Magic Keyboard and the Magic Mouse in the box with the iMac. Gurman also expects updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.
The interesting inclusion in the filings is a battery for the sixth-generation iPad mini, which could end up being reused in the seventh-generation iPad mini. Gurman last week reported that Apple was not planning to debut new iPads until 2024, and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo last month said new iPads were unlikely to be released before the end of the year. The filing does not guarantee that a new iPad mini will be announced tomorrow.
Apple announced the sixth-generation iPad mini during its September 2021 event. The next model will likely be equipped with the A16 Bionic chip introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro, and it will likely have improvements to reduce so-called "jelly scrolling."
Rumors about new iPads being announced earlier this month proved to be inaccurate. Instead, Apple announced a lower-cost Apple Pencil with a USB-C port in a press release. The new Apple Pencil will be available in early November, according to Apple, and new products announced at tomorrow's event could launch around the same time.
All in all, our regulatory findings align with expectations of updated 14-inch MacBook Pro, 16-inch MacBook Pro, and 24-inch iMac models during Apple's event. Perhaps a new iPad mini will be part of the event, as well, but it would certainly be surprising given that Gurman and Kuo do not expect new iPads for the rest of the year.
We'll find out for sure in just over 24 hours.

Well thanks to the people on here that are nice about it, I am going to that in the morning, thanks for your understandingCall Apple tell em what happened, bitching on a forum not even ran by Apple ain’t gonna get you anywhere.
I would not be able to order a Midnight colour laptop. Even thou the colour is beautiful they’re like fingerprint magnets and they would drive me insane just looking at them lolMidnight MacBook Pro 16” incoming.
Hey, if you bought it directly from Apple you should have 14 days to return it (not sure if it’s the same in all countries but it shouldn’t be an issue)I just bought a maxed out a M2 MAX 16 INCH MACBOOK PRO 7 DAYS AGO !! $6500.00 AUD !! Hello Apple I would like a refund....
That, and the price of the black marching the price of the white keyboard. The black Mac is not more expensive than the silver one so I don’t get the price difference now, considering the iMac Pro (which is black, for which the keyboard, mouse and trackpad were created in black) doesn’t exist anymore. I don’t understand why they don’t match the price in both colours.New M3 Macs aside, I would also absolutely love a black Magic Keyboard without the number pad. For some reason, those are only available in white.and
According to Apple Australia webpage you have 14 days to return your order. You should do it now! Since you mentioned they just took 6 grand from your account I take it you did not use financing so the refund should be processed quite quickly. Oh that’s a shame. I would have thought the 14-days return would start from the day you received the device, not the date you ordered it. Maybe it’s different with BTO, I’m not sure. Here in the UK they would happily take it back. I know you mentioned you live in a rural area, but 6 grand is a lot of money, so I was wondering if it is worth a visit to an Apple Store, as I think you’ll be luckier visiting one in-person.Thanks for that, I tried that, even though I only got the MacBook on the 25th Oct, Apple have states its not available for return as I ordered it on the 14th? OFFS ! now I am really angry !!
Why struggled? I’m still on my MacBook Pro 15 year 2014 and now I guess it’s update time.I really hope we finally get a Magic Keyboard with backlighting. Instant buy if so.
I’ll be grabbing a 16” MBP with a Max chip regardless. I’m on a 2018 15” MBP maxed out, and it been great, but really struggling lately. I wasn’t planning on this until early next year from the rumor mill, but so excited for it to be coming out sooner than expected.
