Not Apple --- the UPS system has to be electronic
It's not Apple but the system that UPS runs under. Has to be electronic signature no paper waivers

The packaging appears to be almost identical to previous generation iPads, and Apple already told to us it will bundle a 12W power adapter with the mini.

I can't answer that but I can tell you that TechnoBuffalo and CNet said the battery is amazing. They put a video on loop and it lasted 12 hours before the Mini died. Pretty sweet that Apple's quotes on their "amazing battery" are finally standing up to what they claim
I'm guessing the Mini doesn't come with a pair of those earpods?

Mine was out for delivery yesterday from Colorado and I left my pre-sign note and they delivered it. Mail is weird in this state though, got it quicker when I lived in Colorado Springs than in Denver.
That's what I've been hearing, and had my fingers crosses, but alas. I should have ordered some with my mini. Oh well.
The Brown Cube Van of Joy just delivered my Smart Covers. Hoping that Friday will bring the real show!
As for UPS, it is not a UPS issue on the signatures. Apple insists on an actual signature. Too much value to leave on a door step. That said it does not mean some drivers won't ignore the rules.
Our regular driver knows I work from home so if something is going to a neighbor and they aren't there he gets me to sign it.
I also guess UPS has extra drivers on as the delivery today was not my regular driver.

Got the set with my iPhone 5 and my wife bought a set as soon as they were in store. Good headphones for $29. Now Bose will have to come to their senses with the price of theirs. $129 ? {snort}

Just noticed Apple tracking is now online again and has given me a 'Track Shipment' button, it tells me that it was shipped on 27th October and the carrier is UPS, also gives me the tracking number.....Yeah!

I actually got lucky so far. I ordered 2 Minis. One for me and one for the wife but she does not know that I did (or has not said so). Well she had to step out a few minutes and the UPS guy arrived with the covers while she was gone so she has not been tipped off. Hopefully I will be able to surprise her with her own iPad Mini on Friday!
Why offer to provide shipping details and then not update it??? Apple still shows "Preparing for shipping" for my Mini and UPS (found using a reference search) has had the thing in Kentucky for 2 days.

I was able to check status but it has not changed yet.
I'm wondering if it will be later today? Thinking that the guy who had a status of shipped is in the UK and it's "past the end of business" (9-5 hours) in the UK. So maybe it will be after 5 local (or even Pacific) time here before Apple updates it for North America?
Order two minis one Black one White. I see I have one shipped from China via UPS and another sitting in Ontario CA the whole time and will be shipped via Fedex.
Let's see which carrier will be faster. I suspect both will arrive late afternoon as usual. And I will bet money the white one is UPS.
