iPad mini iPad Mini Shipping/Tracking Thread

Anyone know anything about picking up a delivery? Got mine delivered to a friend's business, as I live in the city, but they tried delivering before business hours. They didn't leave a slip, and my delivery is now scheduled for Monday.

Can I go to the hub between 7 and 8 to pick up the package? What will I show them considering I don't have a slip and the address on the package is not mine? Maybe I could print out and bring in the pre-sign slip from Apple.com for proof that it's my package. Ugh.

They should of left a door tag with a number (don't know if this number is the same as the tracking number) on it. If you go to the carriers website and track it do you see a delivery exception? I would call the carrier up and see what they say.

Just wondering if they left no notice how you know they tried before business hours? Possible that the driver saw the hours, knew he would be back that way later and is going by again if he didn't leave the "nobody was home" notice. Couriers here usually pass by twice a day. Once on the drop off and once on the pick-up route.

There is a delivery exception on my tracking page at 10:30, the business opens at noon. Maybe you're right and they will attempt another delivery, at which point they'd leave a tag if they could still not deliver.

However, the delivery date on the tracking page now says Monday though, so I won't hold my breath.

I will probably just go pick it up tonight. I called and was told it should be at the facility again by 5.

The reason reason I ask is that I am planing to get both, (The 4 and the mini) but only one with LTE. Have not decided yet wich one will have LTE. I still have the truly unlimited plan from AT&T.

Yes I ordered the LTE 64GB black iPad 4, it will replace my ATT iPad 3. The three will be given to a good friend:)
 
Where is this guy? I live in a somewhat major city in a no-so-major county above NYC. Truck left at 8:20am.

It's here...ahhh. So cute! Have an iPhone 5 and honestly if you aren't sitting there comparing the two the screen on the mini is fine.

Mine was delivered - luckily someone was there. Delivered 12:42pm.

UPS is so full of fail. I don't live in Concard :) And never was out for delivery. Wish they used FedEx, but at least it got here on time (so did my iPhone 5 pre-order).
 
I love the form factor so far. It actually fits in the back pocket of my jeans. Not that I'd leave it there but it actually fit.

So small and light. Screen looks great to my eyes. No complaints yet. Still setting up all the apps and settings, etc.

Hope you all get yours quickly too!
 
Delivered! I haven't taken them out of the box yet. Hopefully everyone enjoys them! At least there are a few Christmas gifts to cross off my list! :D

Liars. Tracker doesn't even have a receive scan on it to Burtonsville. Either they are disregarding scan procedure or they haven't even unloaded the trailer yet. Can't see much likelihood at all that they deliver today.

k, it's took UPS 7 hours to deliver from Chicago location to my address in South Shore, but ... it's here!

this thing is tiiiiiny. the box feels like is empty (it wasn't :))
and the best household item to compare is a DVD case, except mini is 1/2 as thick

check out craig's list chicago if you need one (32gb, black, $80 markup)

So I just spoke with UPS again and the rep said that the package has been rescheduled for Saturday but there is a chance I could receive it today. The rep said that right now it's in transit to Burtonsville, and from there it has to go to Laurel, the from there to my residence. It's been I transit since 9:04am today, but I dunno, I think it will probably come tomorrow. Oh we'll, what's another day right!?! Hope you all enjoy the mini. If I have any further updates, I will post.
 
Annd this is why I said I wasn't going to order online anymore after iPad 2. Been waiting at my house for the past few hours. Smart cover was delivered and given a two hour window. My mini says it will be delivered by 11:59 PM :rolleyes: It has been out for delivery since 6AM.

I could just drive 20 minutes to the Apple store and pick one up...

What I don't get is why they can't even give you some kind of time window, I am sure the drivers aren't just randomly driving around the city dropping off whatever package is next, so they have a planned route. Even a simple morning/afternoon/night designation would be nice...
 
Mine just arrived, now restoring from my old iPad 2 back up.

Just got mine a few minutes ago - waiting for the restore to complete.

I was a bit surprised it came so soon. Typically for fedex (for me) when I see deliver by 3:00pm, it comes just at 3. I'm not complaining mind you, very happy to have it in hand. :D
 
My status says DELIVERED! Front desk at home signed for it. I can't go home for another hour and a half though (going to run home for lunch, pick it up, and bring it back to work.)
