Those minis that stuck in shanghai, now in Alaska... :)

Arrived at FedEx location
Location
ANCHORAGE, AK

One thing I've noticed - seems like those who were lucky enough to get FEDEX instead of UPS are much better off. I wasn't so lucky.

UPS's "Worldwide Expedited" absolutely sucks and is unreliable. Their "scheduled" delivery dates constantly change. And, they have a wide "2-5 business day" margin, which really translates to "5 business days if you are lucky".

No chance. Standard shipping doesn't allow for Sat delivery. Lets hope for Monday. Mine is in AK too.

Saturday delivery is a special delivery and unlikely for these orders, but I'm glad we're finally in the US.

I just called and complained and got ear pods which I guess is something...

Well, my att 16gb mini was "delivered" today. Fedex said someone signed for it, the person who signed for it doesnt exist at my building complex. Apple is looking into it.

With the iPhone 5, Apple worked out a special deal with UPS to deliver those packages on Sat. that didn't make it out on Friday even though the shipping method technically didn't include that service. That being said, I doubt they will do the same thing here.

If you absolutely can't wait, I would be at the Apple Store tomorrow when doors open, if possible. I dropped by today and an employee told me the store wouldn't be announcing when they're available - they'll just "be there" one day. She then said, "If I were you, I would be here tomorrow when doors open." And then she winked at me... Not flirting or a muscle spasm, she was plainly telling me that they would have the Cellular Minis to sell tomorrow (guessing they are already in the back, they just can't sell them yet). When I asked specifically about AT&T, she gave me a knowing look and said, "From what I hear, we're getting the most of the AT&T ones."

Mine, too. It looks like we're on flight 28!

Anyone figure out when the next flight to Memphis is? It's still theoretically possible for these to make it to us (at least me, since I live in TN) for Sat. delivery, although highly doubtful.

I also doubt we'll see Sat. delivery, but just because this type of delivery doesn't usually include Sat. service doesn't necessarily mean anything.

From the "Shipment Facts" section of the FedEx tracking information....

"Special handling section: Deliver Weekday, Indirect Signature Required"

Well my AT&T 16gb arrived safely to my door step today. Fedex left it with no issue since I pre signed the waiver.

Now it's time to play with it.

Read the part of my post where I mentioned what they did with iPhone 5. That sort of special arrangement wouldn't necessarily show up in the default descriptions.

I HIGHLY doubt it would happen, but it would be nice if Apple would acknowledge whatever happened with these by upgrading for Saturday delivery. That said, it may not be physically possible. I work for a large online retailer and we can't change things like that once it's in transit.

So the question is, where are they headed next?
Assuming Memphis, but not sure.

That would be my assumption, but I have had apple stuff go from Alaska to alliance airport in fort worth (FedEx has a facility there) then out on the truck for delivery that morning. I dare not hope so, but it would be so nice. It's not too far fetched since it appears that the stores may have the mini for sale tomorrow.

Well, it is closer.....

currently:Sorting Facility, Raleigh.... Next Stop: FedEx Office in Durham...... After that: Delivered to my office on Monday......

I wonder if I can set up it there...... :D

After issues w/ FedEx delivery, I finally got my Mini. I've been playing with it for a couple of hours now and I absolutely love it.

Original delivery to NYC once it was on a plane was supposed to be today by 10:30am. Well FedEx decided to be competent for once and tried to deliver it yesterday. By the time I realized people we're receiving it a day early, I already left for work and didn't leave the pre-signature thing, nor do I like to do that. I had planned on going to work late today to sign for it. Anyway...all kinds of back & forth w/ FedEx (they did not redeliver at 10:30 this AM), I have it in my hands.

Black 64GB Verizon version for those tracking.

iPad mini 16GB white AT&T that I ordered at the stroke of midnight on the preorder date...

...doesn't show on my support profile;

...still shows 21 November with standard delivery and 5 business days for shipment;

...received an email 8 full days ago that I'd be receiving a tracking number within 5 business days.

I called Apple. They said they'd comp me a Smart Cover and a 5W charger. And now 20 November shows as my delivery date with next day delivery.

Pretty disappointed, but this just is how it is now that most everyone loves Apple.
...iPad mini shipping date changed to 29 November. I'm super disappointed, especially since I placed my order at midnight on the preorder date. I called. I wasn't mad. I just asked if the phone representative had any update he could share as to why/how my order got screwed up. The phone representative said that it's probably because the previous representative switched my order from Standard Shipping to Next Day Shipping. I asked if we could recover the Standard Shipping shipping date. He said no.

I then asked if there was anything else he could do, like another comp, maybe EarPods. "No, I can't do that, but I can give you a better pair of earphones." As disappointed as I am with this order fulfillment and shipping, Apple's comping me a set of Beats In-Ear Earphones. (I'm an Etymotics with CustomFit Earmolds guy, but a pricier set of earphones is an awesome comp.)

Actually there are four FedEx flights in the air now between Anchorage and Memphis. TheY all took off after the shipment was cleared by customs. They start landing at 12:35 AM

28 is the only one that I saw that came from Shanghai, though (I think).

Shipping date slipped as well, offered any 2 accessories

My delivery date slipped by one day for both my minis, from the 20th to the 21st. Originally they were both set to arrive on the 23rd but after explaining I will be out of the country on the 21st had delivery changed to the 20th via 2 business day delivery. Anyways both minis shipped today with delivery now set to the 21st so I called to ask why the sudden change. Got an apology with there's nothing that can be done now they have shipped but please choose any two mini accessories for each order as a sorry.

So ended up with 2 red covers, one lightning to USB and one lightning to sd card reader. She was even willing to give me the blu tooth keyboards but I figured I would get more use out of the covers/wires.

Needless to say I'm satisfied and it will be a win win if the minis get delivered before my flight on the 21st.

Yep -- I'm UPS & my date slipped today from the 21st to the 23rd.

From what I have seen they actually roll everything off the plane. It is inspected and then reloaded. Not necessarily on the same plane so 28 would have unloaded and immediately loaded what had already been cleared.

At any rate it doesn't make any difference because they all land right behind each other. It is really something to watch. Memphis is even more amazing. A package enters at one end and is back out of the building within minutes.
