I thought I would share the case I got today. Bought this off Amazon and it came in stock a few days ago.

I got one on eBay first, but the sleep wake did not function. It looks like they were aware and fixed it as there was a break in availability on Amazon and this one works.

I usually like my cases as slim as possible but I am really enjoying this so far. It looks nice and has good material that won't scratch the iPad. I really like the variety of angles, and this one even lets you angle all the way to the latch to get a keyboard angle - which is not common in folio cases. It even has a Pencil loop and a hand strap for one-handed holding.

I think the overall protection, feel, look, and angle options may win me over the thin cases. If anyone has any questions or wants images just ask.

I used this exact style case with the last iPad to use the old 30-pin connector. It was awesome then and still is now. Just ordered the blue version for my 10.5.

3 Stars on Amazon

Yep, I didn't buy it and it has poor reviews since it barely fit or not from the reviews. A lot people returned it and I'm not sure if it has been been revised.

I'm using the CTS TPU case meanwhile. It fits pretty well and it's very inexpensive. I'll keep looking for decent long term cases.

I don't see how this could be an issue. Considering all of the Smart Cases have the exposed edge for connecting the Smart Cover, which is exactly where the Smart Connector is on the iPad Pro. It just seems like a really dumb oversight from Apple to not release a Smart Case for 10.5.
I'm not sure you know what the Smart Case is... Apple killed it. You seem to be talking about the silicone back case, which has no smarts.

Got the fake Smart Case in today and its going right back. Magnet is so weak its pretty much non existent. Can't even keep the iPad propped up if you need to touch the screen. It falls right over.

I bet we got the same case. Sent a message to the seller. Got a refund. Trashed the case.

I finally got the Apple Smart Case for iPad Pro 10.5 and I'm soooo happy! This thing is everything I wanted and fixes all the concerns I had with the KhoMo (which was a nightmare to remove). This case isn't Apple-perfect, but it's amazing for $10, and short of Apple releasing a new case, I suspect it's the best I can find for now.

My new Apple Smart Case for iPad Pro 10.5 is:

1. Light and slim. Lighter and slimmer than the KhoMo. Holding the iPad is a pleasure again and competitive with my iPad Air. Other than aesthetics, I feel this impacts sound quality/resonance.
2. Has a better viewing angle. Better angle than the too-reclined KhoMo, although not as good as the iPad Air smart case. It's not off by much. The KhoMo is bad.
3. It wraps and protects all sides of the iPad. The KhoMo coverage is unsatisfactory on the Smart Connector edge.
4. It's easy to slide my iPad in and out of the case. I don't intend to remove my iPad in and out of the case, but I definitely don't want to repeat the KhoMo experience here.
5. It looks sooo good. I want to buy another one as a backup.

My case had none of the issues mentioned above so far -- no "V" problems, no weak magnet problems (The magnets could be stronger but the original iPad Air smart case had somewhat weak magnets anyway and I don't think this one is much worse. It's been stable.), and no sleep/wake/power issues.

Given the price, performance, features, and competition, this is my 9/10 case. The major thing missing is a loop for the Apple Pencil which I've found to be indispensible. I've got the Surface Pen Loop for that. It's also not Apple-perfect, for sure.

I have been following this thread and I also ordered this case for my 10.5" IPP. Glad to hear it is so nice as mine has not arrived yet. I got the coffee brown color for something different. Wondering if it has the Apple logo on the back? No biggie either way but that would be sweet if it did. Also, how is the typing angle? For the time being I have been using that hideous UAG Metropolis case until this one comes in and that case - in spite of having a million 'features' - has no typing angle. they push it as being Smart Keyboard compatible but so what? Not everybody wants a Smart Keyboard and it's ridiculous they could not have incorporated a third crease in the cover to work like any other similar case.

Looking forward to receiving this case even more now! Thanks for the great info and enjoy yours!

I got the blue one. Just arrived in the mail. There is a little v at the lightning port. I'm willing to bet this happened in transit. It just came in a poly mailing bag, so if it was bent at all during transit (likely and easy to do) the v would get made. I'll email the company about it later. Can't comment on magnets etc yet as I don't have my iPad yet (on order). Will follow up when I get it.

Well, based on this thread, it is hit and miss, so prepare for the worst case scenario... Typing position is good. Using it now.

Just got notification less than an hour ago that my Zugu case has shipped. It still shows pre order and shipping on July 10th on their website so thats good! Hopefully will have it Friday or Saturday. My knock off Apple Smart Case still hasn't been scanned into the USPS system despite having a tracking number generated 5 days ago. The Zugu is going to likely be my permanent case so I will likely return the knock off Smart Case or sell it to someone here that might want it.

Any word on this?

I received my Zugu case today. Got an email with $20 off and free overnight shipping from Amazon. It's a larger/bulkier case that I normally use but it's sturdy, with lots of viewing angles. Not sure how much I will be using the pockets and card holders but nice feature. So far so good if you like a sturdy case.

And witch case is this? Link please:)

The ebay case is not a keeper. The material feels very cheap and the edges are rough. Also, the magnets are weak and they don't support auto sleep/wake. The inner lining is a lint and hair magnet. I'll pass on this one.

I had the same problem, mentioned it a few posts back!

One thing to keep in mind with the fake Apple leather smart cases off eBay are that they eventually lose their shape a little, to the point where it won't hold the iPad securely in place. I had this case previously for an Air 2 and mini 4 and this issue eventually happened with both. I may have been unlucky but just something to be aware of.

What's that sticking out from the edge of it on the right?

That is the hinge...

I got mine yesterday. It's definitely OK and does the job. Weak magnet and nowhere near as quality as the leather apple smart case.

I looked at all the amazon cases that mimic the original smart case and the ebay one comes the closest.

Any word on this?
Great case, little bulky and the pouch on the back is not needed imo. I would wait for the Prodigy X that is getting released next month instead.

Ditto, got a refund and can keep the case. Might just hold onto it as a spare.

Just picked up the Torro iPad Pro 10.5 case. Top quality. Sleep function etc. all perfect. Love their products.
