iPad Pro 10.5 Cases Thread

Waiting on the updated ivapo.

Eh... At least we start with one that I would not want. :D

I am not ordering my 10.5" until I decide on a decent case. I want a case with a pencil holder.

edit:
I ordered the 10.5" and a pencil and it will be here in a few days. Still not have decided on a decent temp case.

Available July 29th, so no reviews on fit.
Had a Khomo case for my 9.7 Pro. Was great!

Is there a back cover that is available now that is confirmed to work with ASK and fits perfectly yet? It is unbelievable that Apple doesn't sell one to go with the ASK.

I bought this case from Amazon and it works great as a temporary solution:

I use the ASK so I cut off the cover and removed about a 1/4 inch off the edges with a X-Acto knife.

You get two of them which didn't I didn't originally know. They are soft cases. Sometimes the case slides just a little bit when holding the iPad from the edges but nothing too concerning.

Why in the h e double-hockey-sticks Apple doesn't release their own back cover or full case is beyond me.

Here's a JETech review, I don't like that it doesn't come up over the corners...

Apple thinks we are all going out run out and buy their higher margin $130 leather sleeve. $130 for what is essentially a bag. Great

There is no hiding it that Apple still hasn't come up with an elegant way to cart the Pencil around so they decided a sleeve would do it...They could put a nice holder on the yet to be announced case (assuming they are producing it) or make the Pencil magnetic like the Surface Pro. Even if the Pen is prone to falling off when you place it in a bag, at least it is a solution that works instead of introducing a $130 inconvenient sleeve.

I just got my blue CTsing case. It only took me a few minutes to whack the front cover off then widen the opening a little bit to fit the ASK. It helps that I sew and quilt so I have small scissors and other cutting tools, as well as a Dremel, but small scissors are really all that you need.

The front cover is a pretty dark metallic blue, the back cover is a plain dark blue. The back cover is not as nice as the Apple silicone back cover but it is MUCH better than the Moko clear cover I was using. The CTsing cover has a small lip that fits nicely over the front edge of the IPP. The power and volume buttons are covered but the case is flexible so the buttons work, albeit not as smoothly as with the Apple case.

The Apple case is a little thicker and sturdier and I prefer the feel. The CTsing case will do nicely until and unless I find a better case. If Apple releases silicone back covers, though, I'll be getting one.

I got the soft TPU Moko case that everyone has been talking about. It's terrible. The one I got was able to accommodate the Smart Keyboard Cover just fine, but the camera hole was too snug and and the power button cover was not fitted correctly. I had to do some surgery on both to get the case to fit properly. Not pleased AT ALL with that solution.

I now have a Poetic soft TPU case with built in Pencil holder on pre-order. I guess the first batch of them that went out were ill-fitting as well, but they'll be sending out correctly fitting covers in about 10 days. I have never had a case with a built in Pencil holder before, so I hope this works out well. The one drawback will be that it probably won't fit correctly in my Swiss Gear bag anymore. The 10.5 barely fits correctly in there now, so adding the Pencil holder will probably require me to get a new bag or not use a bag at all. That makes me a tad nervous--might need to grab a new bag too.

OK, I modified the jettech case but rather that cut it down I routed groves with a Dremel to accommodate the apple keyboard. I cannot figure out how to post a pic from my iPad.

Click 'upload a file' next to the 'post reply' box, then select 'photo library'?

I'd be interested to see your results as I've just ordered a JeTech case, after being impressed with my iPad 3 case.

Mind posting pics?

As long as you don't mind very quick and very dirty. Lighting is terrible, but you get the idea. Screen has an icarez matte protector on it.

ASK overlapping back cover.

This doesn't really show the back cover very well but you can at least get an idea of the width from the upper right corner.

I did the same thing. The Dremel went thru it like a hot knife thru butter. I paired the Jet case back with the Apple Keyboard. This will hold me over until the STM Duxe case comes out.

I'm also looking for a Smart cover-compatible silicone (or TPU) back cover (that is, a Silicone case-clone) for the 10.5'' iPad Pro. Why?

- PC (hard) back cases scratched previous iPads (e.g. JETech ones) so I want a soft one
- I'd prefer to use the official Smart cover for the 10.5 iPad Pro because of concerns regarding magnet strength with third party smart covers

Do you know of a cover that matches those specifications? Or, at least, an upcoming one?

Also, a hybrid hard/soft back cover (with a TPU bumper) would work, but it's a second option.

Finally, I'd prefer not to cut the cover, the result may not be professional.

BTW, my "perfect" combo protection for my previous 9.7'' iPad Pro were the Apple Silicone Case with a matching Apple Smart Cover.

Thanks!!!
