I really don't miss Apple Pencil . It doesn't make difference for me.

Yes on the longevity blurb.

People that bought on Pro 9.7" who didn't need the pencil feature specifically...made a less optimal choice.

That's what I'm getting torn between right now. I know I'm not going to use the pencil so do I go for the Air 2 or Pro at this time is what I'm trying to decide.

12.9, A10X and 6GB memory (cause' from past experience memory has always ended up being the one thing I've automatically maxed out or wished I had more of, if not right now, certainly in the future).

Nice thought, but Apple being Apple...v2 will have the same 4gh ram most likely.

Not necessarily. If one bought the Air 2 at launch back in 2014, then yes, they'd be enjoying it for quite a long time. However, as of March 2016, that's already 1.5 years less than maximum possible service life. Besides, Air 2 doesn't have 256GB.

Personally, aside from the usual issues with Safari tab refreshes and background apps, I find the CPU to be a bottleneck before RAM even becomes a major problem. Case in point iPad 3, 4 and Air. All three have 1GB RAM and run at the same resolution. However, I find the performance difference among those 3 models quite significant. The Air is so much nicer to use than the 4 particularly when surfing multimedia-heavy webpages. The 3, only thing I use it for is Netflix and HBO Now.

About two and a half weeks ago I tried out my friend's ipad pro with apple pencil and was hooked. That weekend I signed up for a barclay card and got myself an ipad pro 12.9. The next day the rumors of an updated version started and I was so bummed. I had a feeling that would happen.

Ill be fine on the one I have now for a while so i just have to remind myself that, lol. I was just surprised that it had a lesser camera and no trutone. It will be a while before I can afford to upgrade anyway.

Don't read too much into the supposed March 2017 announcement. Adding TT to the 12.9" will be a minor improvement...I really don't care about it.

And I'll be waiting for the first $100 off sale anyway...I refuse to pay $1000 for any iPad. Not when they are discounted at times.

I'll be fine waiting. My ipad2 is still purring along.

And there probably won't be any meaningful iPad news till June. But surprise me, Apple.

I really want Apple to include the right charger next time, it´s not very nice to include a charger that´s not really up to the task and then charge ≈$100 extra for the one that actually does to job..

If I had the iPad Pro 12.9 current version, I wouldn't upgrade, but I don't so I really need them to release a version 2 soon in order for me to upgrade.

Hopefully;

- True tone
- 2 x More CPU performance

That's all I need

You should welcome it, software is becoming so much more advanced and powerful and apps can do so much more, you must be happy for the advancement

I do have the current 12.9 and buying it back in December I told myself I would not upgrade to the next 12.9 the following year because this model would be all I would need unless there's some significant upgrade internally based off the current 9.7 model there's nothing that would make me upgrade current 12.9 does everything I need and more 128gb w/ Cellular Space gray

Maybe - the "2" versions of iPad have traditionally hit the really sweet spot, but then again, my Air 2 still does everything I need and hasn't felt slow in the least bit. I think at this point the only thing I'd be upgrading for would be TouchID2 (if they put it finally into an iPad) and if the haptic feedback/water resistance/etc makes it to the iPad Pro 2. It still won't be a 12.9 Pro 2 though... just too big for me, but I do think its way overdue time for bluetooth keyboard/mouse support for iPads.

True. Easy to say NO now but after experiencing the event hype it can be difficult not to want to upgrade.

I need a 12.9 inch iPad. I wish they released one now and added true tone.

I'm done until they introduce an OLED display with HDR. Don't really care about resolution - once you see the true blacks and dynamic range of OLED and HDR you really can't go back.

We're a couple of years from that happening I think...I give it 2018.

There are only two badass mfing features I would upgrade for. Well really one. But the other is nice as hell. The killer app?

3D Touch. Going from my 7+ where I use it all the time to the point where touching an app is second nature now to my iPad Pro is just...annoying. It seems like such an obvious feature that should be there that is much needed. This is the most brilliant implementation of right click...ever. And it's not on a larger device that would benefit from it just as much? Ughhhhhh.

So this is what Apple needs to do: add 3D Touch and expand on its feature ALOT. Update the rest of the software to give users more flexibility so we can use it more freely as if it were a desktop os and then...add the new colors man! Not sure about jet black....but matte black for iPad Pro? Giving it that sexy stealthy look? Apple could just take whatever they wanted from my bank account. Just give it to meeeee

Is there any possibility that Apple will release a IPad Pro 2 this week?

No headphone jack = one less reason to upgrade
[doublepost=1477488556][/doublepost]I have a feeling that Apple will launch a new iPad tomorrow!

Not having the jack truly would s*ck, but it's coming on the iPad as well.
