Yeah - it is the same extract. Same poor uninformed comparisons of US vs Aus pricing that don't take into account sales taxes as a start point.

A$1,699 for the top of line model compared to US$1,079. However take out teh GST in A$ and then convert to US$ A$1,699 becomes A$1,544 and then becomes US$1,270 - still a 20% premium for shipping to Oz and Oz retail costs, lack of scale and the "benefit" of Australian consumer laws...

Is it me or is Apple becoming more ridiculous with not giving a time? Here I am 3am, trying to make sure I get my Ipad Pro by release date, hitting refresh. I could be sleeping if it doesn't come out till early AM. =(

Well not 12 CA time either (now 3 AM on the East Coast).....

Waited up till midnight and now waited up till 3 AM for nothing.

Really nice Apple........

Words cannot express my frustration right now at the lack of communication by Apple to consumers regarding this product. This is the most exasperated that I have been with Apple in over a decade.

Best of luck whenever tomorrow to all those who stayed up for the iPad Pro like I did tonight.

Best,

JS

I'm wondering if it's due to them figuring their "target audience" isn't the type to be up this late/early (depending on location) eagerly getting ready to click "refresh".

Yup, how many of us were here refreshing, wasting our time. lol

BECAUSE WE ARE SLAVES.

Apple is more and more becoming the company that Steve Jobs would not have approved of. Think of all the issues now with OSX & IOS releases! Then the Apple Watch ordering debacle (remember that one?) and now THIS? Really, Apple's ego is getting too big - just like Microsoft in the 90's/00's - now look at them. Its sad to say but its only a matter of time Apple if you keep this nonsense up!

Is this what they thought was a target audience when they released the Apple TV at 9am?

It can also be a marketing ploy. Think of all the low amount of hype surrounding this product release. Of course some of us are hyped about it, but compared to other Apple launches this one is mellow. Now with them pissing all these people off, the press will suddenly get a hold of it and BOOM free marketing.

Oh damn, I guess they just weren't right on the mark at midnight. Just purchased mine, and it's available for pickup at my local Apple Store today!

I'm hoping that these in store pickups we're seeing available on the Apple web site are actually legit. Never having done pickup before if it shows that as an option and you select it are you guaranteed to have one (in other words it pulls an item from stock electronically to at least have one for the order) ?

Yes, it's a legit and orderly pickup process. It'll be there waiting for you, just remember to bring ID.

Thanks Tang ! Just never done a pickup before so was hoping it wasn't something where it stated they ere available but when they were actually processed by the store (when they open in a few hours) could be bumped was all

The Apple Store app said the iPad Pro was available for pickup today in my local store... That can't be right, can it?
