Yes, but it also runs the exact same Adobe app that runs on an iPhone.

Adobe really needs to up their game on the app side if they want creative pros to use their software on an iPad Pro.

Other apps such as Graphic will step in and offer Creative Suite-like features if Adobe does not.

This is the main reason I'm waiting a few months on buying the iPad Pro: pro-ready apps likely won't be there at launch.

Adobe have more robust apps in development. They're just being all hush about it at the moment. Trust me they know they will lose out if they do not fill the gap.

Am I the only one who's noticed Apple's recent lethargy regarding the iPad Pro? After the initial product announcement, Apple basically went silent. Then, this Monday they announce preorders will be available Wednesday, but give no time at which preorders will be accepted and no firm date on which the product will be available in the retail stores. Can no one at Apple communicate a decision any more? Or make one?

Today, the day before pre-orders are to begin, the web site for iPad Pro still says "Available November." Wouldn't you think that a product that Apple presents as ground-breaking and the death of the PC would at least merit a web site update announcing preorders? Has anyone noticed that the Apple Pencil seems to get more attention than the iPad Pro?

To me, this entire episode speaks to Apple's lack of confidence in their products. After the less-than-remarkable debut of the Apple Watch, and in the face of declining iPad sales, could it be that Apple doesn't want to blow their horn too loudly lest someone notice if iPad Pro sales are less than stellar?

I hate to be one to keep digging Steve Jobs up and throwing him in Tim Cook's face, but I can't imagine a product launch as weak as this one happening on Jobs' watch.

Ummm I fail to see what Apple's done wrong here. They showed the iPad Pro a while back. On Monday they announced that they'd be available to order online on Wednesday, and in shops "later in the week". That's it. What's the problem?

Just because rumour sites have been going mad with dates, and third-party retailers have been making dates up, that's no reason to hate on a very simple launch strategy.

Aside from maybe the iPad 1 or 2, I don't recall there being any delays with iPads. I've had no issues stopping into the Apple Store with no lines, no wait on launch day for past iPads.

I have never gotten a ipad on release day. My ipad Air was delayed over a month from launch.

Alas, your words have truth.

That truth is depressing. I wish Apple brought a smile to my face, like it once did. :(

If I get up at 3:00 AM to get my order in and they don't go on sale until noon tomorrow, that's an unnecessary inconvenience. Wouldn't it be nice to know that ahead of time? It's inconsiderate and sloppy management.

Would be nice to know a time so that everyone doesn't repeat the long late night early morning that was the ATV 4 pre-order, non-pre-order thing :)

I am dying to know the time of the release as well. It is driving me nuts not knowing when to wake up and start hitting the refresh button!!

Good point! I assumed 3d touch would have been included
Because the pencil supposedly gives the iPad the illusion of pressure sensitivity, I too was fooled into thinking that the iPad Pro would feature Force Touch.
If the pencil works as good as the ad says, I will be very happy with this tablet.

iPad FAIL. the market is going to be very small compared to the other iPads.

It won't be a "FAIL" at all. Just because it may not be as popular as the smaller iPads doesn't automatically make it a failure. It will have its own sizable audience and may grow from there as further updates appear in the years to come.

Still no detailed pricing for Australia. Seems like orders will be taken on Thursday here.

Indeed. It's 3:41pm in NZ and 1:41pm in Australia, and both sites still say "Available November". Looks like we're looking at 11th November PST at the very least, if not sometime later in the morning.

Got off of phone with Apple Sales. Nothing definitive, thought given past releases that demand might prevent in store pickup when ordering online until more stock becomes available. I'm stumped why there isn't better info the eve of the release of the iPad Pro. I suppose making no promises is a defense against telling us how it is going down the way they might predict.

I don't get it. I thought with ipad sales slowing down, Apple would try and make the ipad air, their best selling ipad front and center, but instead they sell us on a niche product, and hold the air 3 back.
Usually if there's no change to an iPad model in the fall, they release an upgrade in the spring.

Tim & Co. seem to be laying relatively low for this release, a little odd when you consider Tim sees this as a device that'll take the place of the laptop computer.
Guess he may be a little gun-shy after the release of the Watch.

This is an odd launch. Clearly this device was thrown out there in response to the Surface Pro line. It's a device that doesn't really seem planned. The Pencil looks pretty cool though, and I bet the screen is gorgeous. Maybe Apple will figure out what they are doing with this device and it'll become useful. In the mean time, I'll pass.

That's just silly. You don't think Apple has been working on different prototypes of a larger iPad since the success of the first iPad? We've had rumors of a larger iPad for years.

"Doesn't really seem planned"? It's a larger iPad! With an optional pencil (that I wouldn't be surprised if it works on the iPad Air 3)

We had a iPhone (nine generations) and iPod Touch. Then they made a larger one (iPad; six generations) Then they made a medium one (iPad Mini; three generations) with three versions. Now they have a larger one (iPad Pro). Seems like a pretty obvious plan.

I expected a larger one before this...
