I don't mind the two piece setup. In fact, I like it. I just hate the material. Every bit of dust, hair, fuzz, dirt, or whatever sticks to it like a magnet. Sadly no third party case has ever had the manufacturing tolerances that previous Apple leather covers and cases have had.

That's why I put 'pre' in parentheses, I know it's not a true pre order.

I do wonder what day they will actually be available in store. I really hope I can order to pick up in store on Friday. We shall see.

That is probably what they mean. You can pre-order for pickup in store. I am going to pre order for in store pick up assuming it's available.

I got a pre-order in at B&H Photo for an iPP 128GB/LTE+Smart Cover+AC to hedge my bets with Apple. B&H told me they hope to get some in on Wednesday to ship out. I've noticed that they've stopped taking pre-orders. Saved a nice chunk of change on sales tax!! :D

We'll see how it goes! :)

What are the thoughts on if it will be released at midnight vs the next morning like the ATV4? I don't want to get up at 3am EST if I don't have too.
 
Has anyone seen or know if the smart cover (without keyboard) will be available? I haven't seen it anywhere yet. (the very thin grippy one).

You guess is just as good as the next person's. I imagine I could set my alarm for 2:50 am (EST) and then if it doesn't go live; go back to sleep and try again in the morning.
 
Do you guys know if paypal is allowed to be used on apples site to order? Or is it just through credit/debit cards?

Yeah, there is a white one and a dark grey one that's going to be available at launch, 75CAD not sure how much in USD
 
Hey guys,

Does anyone know whether education prices (the one for students) are usually available right on pre-order date? Would kind of be a deal-breaker if I had to pay full price.

I don't recall ever seeing a "pre release" product on Apple's Education Store. The new products appear either when they are released or shortly thereafter. Well, that has been my experience in the past.

I am loving the bigger screen of the IPP. I have an iPad Air, and all I really do is surf the Internet, take pictures, etc. with my current one. Would it be stupid to buy this thing just for the bigger screen since it can do so much more than what I currently do? It would be my Christmas gift. I'm just trying to justify this thing. Haha.

Update:
Never mind. I just saw it:
"Item will be available for purchase on Wed, Nov 11 12AM"
Wonder which time zone they are referring to.
