Hey all, so it is almost certain the iPad Pro will be released on November 11th!
But when is it possible to Pre Order? This week? And if you are not able to pre order, which is pretty damn weird if they don't let you, can you also make a reservation in the store?

Thanks

If it is the 11th then Apple will probably make some kind of announcement this week. I would assume that they will allow pre-orders, they did with the new Apple TV and they will probably go live on a Friday or Tuesday.

The suspense is killing me!! I hope pre orders start today

Won't be today, Apple haven't even announced the release date yet. I've noticed more and more apps are getting updates for the iPad Pro, Procreate is the latest one with an update for the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil.

It won't be till at least the 6th most likely, That's when all Apple store employees are going to be done training for it. And Apple will want to make sure they are ready for both the launch and for the new iPad Pro all together.

So would apple allow preorders before their staff have training?

Only apple knows for sure but I really can't wait. For a product that's supposed to save the ipad sales, they really aren't talking about it much to generate more hype.

Whyever would you preorder a product that hasn't been reviewed at all yet?

There's no way of knowing if it's any good at all.

Of course. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know Apple. They promote "on the fly training" and encourage customer service over technical knowledge. I'm actually surprised there was any formal training at all for iPad pro.

Wish they would announce something though. Even just the date of release never mind date of preorder!

This friday and tomorrow (tuesday)?

It's basically a bigger ipad, it may be different in some areas, but at it's basic level it's still a bigger iPad. If anything is wrong with the item itself you have a year of warranty with apple. It's not much different than pre-ordering an iPhone or other iPad every year.

This wednesday probably?

Could be it would be a week until the 11th so it would make sense, however it depends on Apple. They may make an announcement any day now telling us when pre-orders go live and confirming the release date.

This isn't too surprising that apps are updating with tweaks for the Pro right now. If all you know is "November" you aim to get your work done by the start of November if you can. Since 9.1 is already out, there's nothing blocking developers from releasing the updates with stylus support.

Supposed to save iPad sales according to whom? I don't think anyone sees a market big enough for this to save iPad sales. Especially when iPad sales themselves are a single part of a larger contraction of sales for tablets in general.

The specifications say it's something I want as long as there isn't a ridiculous downside that we haven't yet heard of.

Apple has a history of selling products that are at least as good as they demonstrate up front

You can always return it within 14 days if it turns out to be a lemon. This isn't something I've ever done.

Why wouldn't you pre-order?

atv pre-order is a screw-up? how

i'd say iPhone 6 launch was truly a screw-up, apple tv was kinda smooth

By opening it up for pre-order on a Monday without announcing availability in stores. When they announced a couple days later it would be available in stores that Friday it was already too late for those who pre-ordered to cancel their orders because they were already "preparing to ship" even though they ended up not shipping for another 4+ days for some people.

So the end result is people who ordered early ended up not getting their units until 5 days (mine still won't be delivered until tomorrow) after they were available in store (and even Best Buy) without even being able to cancel.
