If you're past your return period, you can take it to an Apple Store and see if the Genius Bar will help. As a fair warning, these kinds of issues are often difficult to see in their stores because of the lighting.
Yeah I think I will have no luck, and also if they do see the problem they will probably replace it with a refurbished one, which may bring me some problems in the future when I plan on selling the device.

I think I'll just have to stick with the tinted screen iPad. This sucks

I picked up another iPad Pro today. I know, I have a problem. Anyhow, this one's screen is much better than any I've had. It has a very small piece of dust near the bottom, which is only noticeable if you're really looking for it. I'm going to live with that - it's way less distracting than the screen gradient I've been dealing with.

Great to hear! So on a white background, are there any gradient issues at all or completely uniform? Enjoy it!

It's as close to uniform as any screen I've had from Apple. I really can't complain. Now I just have to fight my OCD over the nearly unnoticeable speck of dust. Lol.

It's not only a few posts. I've been reading various forums since November, trying to decide between an iPad Pro and a Surface Pro. The reports about the screen problems come on top of other issues which make the iPad Pro less and less attractive for me. At this moment the Surface Pro really looks like a better choice at least because (1) there is no waiting for a god damn Pen(cil), and (2) I could do real work on it using the real Adobe apps.
on forums there are literally a tons of posts about issues with the Surface Pro, but you are discharging them while a few complainers about the iPad Pro "must be true" ?

BTW this is just one of the typical complaining threads for every single Apple products sold so far.
There are people that can't be pleased by any device. Literally.
I've yet to see a defective display, and I can't be that lucky.
A perfect device just doesn't exist.
And every time I read about "premium price" I just laugh. It's not premium price. It's Apple price (comparable to every high end products from other vendors).
An iPad still is a consumer grade product. it costs $799, not $7000. They are manufacturing millions of them, QC can't be perfect. If you are looking hard enough, you will find issues on ANY consumer grade product.

I posted before my screen looked fine but know I looked at it with a white background and it looks exactly like that. Really disappointing, does apple respond for this issues?
You just did the worst thing you could have done: looking for an issue you didn't have. And now you have a defective device .... that isn't defective.

I admit that I have high standards for a screen. I have never seen a perfect screen. Even professional design monitors.

However, there's a big difference for me between acceptable and perfect. If you can look at the picture I posted earlier in this thread and tell me that screen is acceptable or without defect, then maybe you are unable to see defects.

Can you post some good pics of your screen?

Macjoshua that is great news maybe they are now being supplied by Samsung..I'm the same as you it's not acceptable and apple have to sort it because there is competition now with the Samsung tab pro s with oled screen.allso the Lenovo X11 yoga with 14inch oled ..I may go in Apple this week and try another one see if I get lucky..I can't give up on it yet as I love the pencil and the screen size and the battery life..

Here's a pic. The camera does some weird stuff with viewing angle/lighting. The right side looks a little more yellowish in the picture, but it's not really. Viewing angles affect color a lot, and I couldn't get a great straight on shot because the camera kept adjusting white balance. In real life, it looks really good. Not perfect, but definitely acceptable. There isn't a noticeable gradient across the screen during use..

I'm truly happy for you macjoshua, because I think everyone should be happy with a product they have spent hard earned money on. BUT, lol, I do think it's a bit off the wall to go through 7 IPPs in search of a screen that meets your satisfaction. Enjoy your Pro!!

Thanks. Oh believe me, it's taking everything within me to resist trying one more time to get one that doesn't have a speck of dust under the glass. But, I've burned through enough devices to get one with color that's acceptable for me. I can learn to live with the tiny black spot... hopefully.

I typically inspect the entire display before it gets past the welcome screen, and if I see a fault, I put it back in the box and return it. I saw the dust before I set it up, but decided I was tired of the hunt. Maybe I'll change my mind within the return period, or maybe not. We'll see. Haha.

It would drive me up the wall. Make sure you are "okay" with it before you pass the return period.

I agree but once this issues where everywhere, I couldn't just not look I am really careful with my devices. At the beggining I thought it was my imagination but I asked lots of friends if they saw a side with tint and which side, they all noticied it without me telling them which side it was.

Although I think I'll just have to live with it, that doesn't change the fact that a brand as Apple and that they charge premium fo their devices should not present this type of issues. Maybe I'd expect this from an android cheap tablet

I have to weigh the annoyance of the super tiny piece of dust that's about a quarter of an inch from the bottom of the screen (it basically looks about the size of a dead pixel) against the annoyance of getting caught in the exchange spiral again and going through multiple iPads that have uneven tints.

It would be the first time I've EVER accepted a screen with a piece of dust. Last year, I went through a handful of expensive pro design monitors that had dust behind the screens - so it's not like this is just an Apple issue. It's common, and I need to learn how to manage my obsessiveness.

its great that its uniform macjoshua but the dust to me isn't acceptable for a product at this price point ..apple seriously need to up the quality control ..this year when oled screen become the norm on laptops and tablets all the yellow screen affect will be a thing of the past .also there will be no backlight bleed ..I don't really want to be going back to the store and opening more up till I find the correct one its just stupid and shouldn't be like this .im like you as soon as I see the screen next to a 32gb one I know straight away..maybe they have noticed these posts and have changed screen suppliers or the qc aspect but I would take it back the dust would really annoy me ,I agree that nothing is perfect but on the other hand the 32gb are perfect so anyone who thinks we are over the top I don't care

Exactly. Perfection doesn't exist even on professional monitors costing twice an iPad Pro doesn't have a perfect panel.
You can't relay on pictures to show the issue, since a camera can't really catch it in many cases (unless it's very evident).

Again this false statement....
Apple isn't cheap, for sure, but they don't charge anything "premium", whatever that means. That's just the price for an high end product, perfectly comparable to other vendors ' solutions.
On a $7000 iPad pro I would expect a perfect display. On a $799 iPad pro I know there could be glitches.

Simply compare the price to the iPhone and repeat: the iPad Pro is NOT expensive. It's very cheap considering what is has more than the phone.

I've seen 32gb models that were just as uneven as some of the 128gb's I had. They use different screen batches/suppliers randomly - so I wouldn't go too overboard on that theory. Also, I've bought $3,000+ monitors that have had dust in them. It has nothing to do with how expensive a device is. It's a pretty common occurrence during the manufacturing process. Dust is an ever-present reality. And thankfully, not a single iPad Pro I've had has had any backlight bleed whatsoever.

Like I've said from the beginning, I don't expect perfection. I can find flaws in any screen. Even OLED screens are prone to have dead/stuck pixels (and they can have dust). Just be careful not to set unrealistic expectations.

I don't agree with you at all, Apple is an expensive brand in comparison to most tablet or phones manufacturers. Of course this is relative but for me it's clear that iPad Pro is on the expensive side of tablets. And either way it's still not acceptable for apple to have this kind of probles with their products, one of their important selling points is built quality of Apple products, and users definetley shouldn't be dealing with this issues.

This is a slippery slope, and I've been down it before. My iPad 2 (like the 2011 model, not the Air 2) had a LOT of dust under the screen right out of the box. This was back when they had a month lead time on them because EVERYONE was ordering them, so I'm assuming the manufacturing was going at breakneck speed at the time. I returned it, and the second one I got developed the same problem over the space of about two weeks. My next one had three dead pixels. My original iPad 3 (or "New iPad") had what looked like some kind of water marks or stains under the screen. I returned it, and ended up with a unit that had a scratch on the bezel. The scratch was small and unnoticeable, but still irritating. I had the same types of issues with a few iPhone 4's as well. It was during around the same time as the iPad problems I was having, and I almost completely gave up on EVER getting an Apple product that was in good shape out of the box.

I felt bad returning things over and over, and at one point I was starting to get the feeling I had worn out my welcome at the Genius Bar. They were getting really tired of dealing with my issues, and honestly, I was getting so preoccupied with any little defect I could find, it was getting harder and harder for them to even figure out what I was complaining about. As someone else mentioned, it's hard to show them cosmetic problems in the Apple Store because of the way the lighting is set up.

I was really getting concerned about their hardware quality control though, and almost gave up on Apple completely. But my iPhone 5 and every other Apple device I've gotten since then have all been more or less perfect. Every mass produced gadget you buy will have little imperfections here and there, and I'm really good at finding them. I know exactly which lights in my house will expose them the best and I will find things most normal humans wouldn't care about. But the thing is, I just don't care anymore. I don't want my gadgets to control my life. There are other, more important things to worry about.

being on the expensive side doesn't change the facts: they are still consumer grade products.
Production tolerances are far from being perfect in consumer grade products.

Nothing is ever perfect that's impossible, but you shouldn't have a screen with two different color tones, that is simply not acceptable, not for $700 not for $7000 either. Consumer products or not, you should not have to deal with this stuff

The screen is really pretty gorgeous. And the dust is tiny. Annoying, but tiny. I'll probably forget about it or be able to ignore it at some point. It's right under "porro" - the other dot on the screen is on top of the glass.

After putting my iPad Pro side by side with my father's one I have decided I am taking my iPad to Apple and I really hope they replace it. It's clear that my screen has yellow tint on the top half, although it's only noticieable on white screens now that I've seen it it really disturbs me.
My only problem with all this is there are no available genius bar hours for an appointment near me, also the fact that I don't know if the Genius bar guy will be able to realize there is screen tint, because on the store with all the light I assume it won't be easy.
Also what worries me is that reading forums I've realized there are multiple issues with multiple iPad Pro screens so I hope the one I get has no problem.

It's been pretty a pretty disappointing expierence I love my iPad pro but I am kind of maniatic with stuff and I haven't been able to enjoy the device, too bad I am outside my 14 day period to return it.

I hope Apple replaces it with no issue instead of offering me to send it to tech support

Do you have AppleCare and in the US?

If so, you could call and get an express replacement where they hold money on your card and ship a replacement to you. Then you send yours back in the box with provided fedex label.

If on really bad luck you got another bad one you'd have to wait until they get yours back and processed, then could request another one.
