Do you have AppleCare and in the US?

If so, you could call and get an express replacement where they hold money on your card and ship a replacement to you. Then you send yours back in the box with provided fedex label.

If on really bad luck you got another bad one you'd have to wait until they get yours back and processed, then could request another one.

Thanks for the information, unfortunetley I didn't purchase Apple Care, what would happen if I purchase it now?

Here is a pic of my screen.

You can do an online chat or phone call and add AppleCare if within 60 days of purchase. They will email you a secure link to use credit card and then in a day or so it will register. Then wait a couple days or more for it to fully register and chat again to request an express replacement due to defective screen.

Unless photo made it look worse, I can totally understand wanting to get a replacement. I saw one that bad myself at work. That is just too much to live with.

I had two that looked that way. You should be able to still buy Apple Care - and even if not, you have a year warranty, so any Apple Store should exchange it.

Thanks I wil think it the I have the concerns I wrote above of taking it to the genius bar so maybe I wll just spend the $100 and buy Apple Care.

My screen is really driving me crazy.

It would drive me up the wall. Make sure you are "okay" with it before you pass the return period.

I decided to order another iPad just to see if I could get one without dust... because I'm way too optimistic. The one I got delivered today has dust under the screen as well - only in a worse spot (right in the middle of the screen). I'm going to keep the other one and just be done with it. The screen is evenly lit and tinted, and except for that one little black dot of dust, it's great.

Interestingly, out of the silver models I've had, every one had dust under the screen, but the screens were great. The space gray models all had uneven tints across the screen, and none of them had dust. I'm assuming it's all about where or when they were manufactured.

Can't believe this is still going on all these years after the 3 came out. I'd love an Air 2 but you'll have to pry my iPad 4 from my cold, dead hands. Its perfect screen was hard-won.

I have had good experiences thus far with Apple screens.

I'm envious. Out of the 20 or so Apple devices I've bought over the years that have had screens, I've only had 4 that I didn't exchange at least once because of a screen issue. Some of it's just bad luck - like dust under the screen. Some of it is because I'm more picky than the average person when it comes to screen uniformity.

I am taking my Pro tommorow night to the Apple Store, I just hope they replace mine with no issues, I can´t stand the yellow tint anymore

I will tell you something that is slightly related... My Apple screens have been pretty great, but using external monitors has always been really horrible.

I bought a really nice monitor for PC gaming. Looked beautiful. Ended up buying a bigger screen and decided to use the first one as an external monitor for my 2015 MBA. Hooked it up.... Looked AWEFUL!!! Colors just so ugly and, frankly, comical and stupid looking. I changed color profiles and everything to make it look good, but it still looks very awkward.

I use it, because I need the screen space, but my God the colors look like crap. Hook the monitor back up to the PC and it looks great with no fiddling.

I finally took my iPad Pro to the Genius Bar and I would say it went pretty well. After showing him the screen and the pic I uploaded here he conducted a few screen diagnosis test and agreed to replace my iPad with no issues. I am really not sure if he saw the yellow tint or if he just agreed because my iPad was in perfect state.
The replacement I got seems to be much better in the sense that I don't know if I would say perfcet but I would say screen is pretty even and that was what mattered the most to me. Because of this I think I'll be keeping this one.
My only issue is that this screen has a much "warmer" tone than before, I would say it's much closer to my old's iPad side with the tint, and I really prefer those bluer tonalities on the screen, but I could not say that the new one is damaged, it's just a matter of preference I beleive

The good news is that in iOS 9.3 you can make your screen warmer or cooler - so that might resolve the issue for you.

Good point I had forgotten that, I hope I can give the screen a "cooler" look but at least I already solved my tint issue and I'm happy with the replacement I got

My understanding is that Nightshift on 9.3 won't "cool" beyond the original tint.

An update. I've kept the one that has the speck of dust, and it drives me nuts: to the point of not even wanting to use the iPad. I've purchased two others to see if I can find a better one before my return period is up. One had a speck of dust as well, and the other had a great screen with no dust or dead pixels. However, the screen clicked and rattled every time you even barely tapped the bottom half of the screen toward the home button. It honestly had me worried to even press on the screen at all - it was like it was weaker than any of the others I've seen. It's hard to explain it, but there is another MR thread about that problem (was just like this:
)

Moral of the story: Almost none of them are perfect. If it's not one issue, it's another.

You have tried, what, 10 of them now? I dont understand how you have been able to do that many exchanges but regardless...I'm not sure at this point if you will ever find one that you're satisfied with, maybe it's the chase that you are obsessed with. Is there a number of times before you yourself will say enough of this and maybe I'd be better satisfied with another brand of this product?

What other brand would I go to? None of the tablets on the market run iOS, and I have thousands of dollars in the Apple ecosystem. I think I'm just going to deal with the speck of dust at this point, but it's very hard for me to deal with that kind of defect - I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about that kind of stuff o_O. Believe me, I am tired of exchanging iPads - and I rarely ever go to an Apple Store (I actually hate those places). So getting them delivered to my house and returning them is fairly easy. It doesn't involve much of my time.

I went through seven monitors last year from a few manufacturers that had dust, so I recognize its an issue common for screens. I've just never been willing to live with it before, because I know it will severely diminish re-sale value.

I echo what you say about resale. That makes sense. A preowned buyer is going to inspect and scrutinize while a Apple direct buyer of new product is more likely to assume everything is perfect and not notice the flaws.

I'm guess I'm going to put it to the test. I took the iPad to the Genius Bar today, and the guy said it was too small to warrant replacing, and unfortunately I'm 2 days past my return window. So, I'm snapping some pics of it to post to Craigslist today. I'll probably lose a good chunk of change, but otherwise it will just be sitting in a desk drawer for the rest of its existence.
