The long sides aren't the affected sides.
It's the top and bottom that are affected

Looks good to me. If you look down the length of the top and bottom like this, and see no bend, your all good.

I don't understand how can someone spending $1000 to almost $2000 for a device and accepts it would be "naturally bend".

Here is mine against the keyboard folio. If you look carefully, there is a very slight gap on the right hand side. I think this is one that's within Apple's tolerances.

You are fine. I would not call it “bent”

That looks like mine and I think that’s a slight bend. Of course it’s only visible from that angle so I’ve gotten over it. Every single 2018 11” LTE iPad I’ve seen looks exactly like that picture.

Yep, yours looks good. You can also check the bottom side, as mine is slightly more bent at the bottom.

I’ve got 3 bent ones in a row. This is how mine looks like:

FWIW, I bought a used 11” WiFi iPad Pro from some random person today and it did not look like it was babied, but after 1-2 months of regular use, it didn’t show and signs on being scratched up or bent. First thing I checked lol. So i’m encouraged to see that it handles day to day stuff just fine. In fact, the brand new keyboard folio I purchased from Apple today has more issues than the used iPad LOL (glue smudges on the outside of the case that can’t be wiped off).

Honestly I would not buy expensive Apple product for this kind of quality.

If you understand physics then its a no-brainer, now why Apple didn't account for that is the more annoying thing.
Either way I have an iPad Pro that isn't perfect, it has some slight distortions, but would returning it really do anything. It isn't bent, the aluminum on back has a distortion in certain light but the speakers, screen sensitivity, screen quality/uniformity are all amazing and it unless you get a microscope and look for distortions or things you don't like they will be there. Unfortunately bends are normal, but those are the one case in terms of aesthetics that I'd return it to Apple.

IN the end a 1mm or less piece of aluminum will not be produced without flaws, nor will glass or anything else, there is no such thing as perfect or completely symmetrical and no distortion, defects, or errors. We have all gotten used to such amazing tech our standards of what counts as "acceptable" has reached un-reachable heights. I plan to keep my imperfect iPad for 2 reasons...
1.) It looks amazing and works just as I require... and then some.
2.) I'm tired of the mindset or idea that perfection exists with anything man-made or not, and is a must... I have severe anxiety and diagnosed OCD and these issues have been driving me nuts for 2 months, but I'm done playing the return and exchange or the: "wait until the new one comes out" spiel. I'm done feeding this unrealistic idea that that a "perfect iPad" or anything perfect exists.

I'm not saying anyone HAS to accept it if they feel their iPad or whatnot is not up to par or has any cosmetic or issues at all, but simply saying I want to enjoy my device now and use it, (instead of constantly comparing, worrying, and wondering if I can have perfection)... cause I can't, but thats okay, and in an odd way imperfection can be perfect in the eye of the beholder. ;) *Happy Sunday everyone. :)

Guess we can nearly guarantee the 2019 ipad pro won't bend.......once that normal 2019 ipad comes out that will suffice me until the next ipad pro comes out with a new and worthy revamp of iOS. If no revamp, I will just keep the 2019 iPad regular edition if I don't see any true OS improvements.

What makes you think "nearly guarantee" an iPad Pro 2019 will come out? I personally highly doubt Apple will release an iPad Pro 4 as next January is the 10-year anniversary so releasing a new one this next fall is un-Apple like and they certainly won't release one this spring or June since we just got the 3rd gen in November.

Yes the next ipad pro 2019 or 2020 it will slightly address the issue i guess by going with AL7000 series or making the ipads thicker or maybe both?! and will have an ipad pro 6.5mm al7000series that will bend harder than any ipad to date?!
