I think the general buzz and hype that came with every new iPhone has fizzled. Times change, iPhones are no longer the device that feel more premium than other smartphones phones. There are now phones that simply feel and look more premium and higher end than iPhones. I've purchased 2 Note 10+ at $1500 each. I just can't imagine spending that much for an iPhone now. Not after the experience of using a Note. Not a chance. It even seems there's weaker demand for the new iPhones.

I love my Note 10+. In fact, I'm posting from it. It's in a class by itself. And Apple probably did lose some customers to Android during their years of coasting on the same iPhone 6 design and iOS malaise. I know I strayed to Android due to that.

And Apple lost still more customers in markets outside of the US due to their high prices interacting with local economic conditions.

But I think, judging from the comments on this board, another strong possibility is that people aren't switching away from iOS, but just hanging onto their iPhones longer.

As much as I love my Note, my time on Android has shown me the strengths and weaknesses of both platforms. Apple still has some key strengths in iOS. I'm seeing signs of life coming from them again. Signs they're waking up and getting hungry for my business again.

I guess I'll find out when my 11 Pro gets here. It's joined the "preparing to ship" crowd and I am still excited after all these years.

Yes, the changes are incremental, but if we are being honest, Samsung customers have the same complaints. And other competitors may excel in a couple of aspects like Google's computational photography, and Huawei's advanced zooming, but don't maintain high standards overall. I know, my family owns these devices as well.

strange. Ordered iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB Green at 8:00:34ET. Went to preparing to ship at about 10:30A the same day.

what is interesting is I ordered a Black Titanium Watch last Tuesday. According to UPS it’s left China Thursday and has been sitting in Anchorage ever since. Of course Apple Store still says “Preparing to ship”

What does Apple do with all the returned iPhones? You know there are people that just order them only to return them within the 14 days.

Great for those who are getting them on time. Unfortunately I’m always unlucky with pre orders and mine are only shipped usually 2 weeks after.

No, you guys aren’t getting them early. FedEx, UPS, etc will hold them until the official release date. Someone will be lucky enough to get there’s early by mistake.

This happens every year. Lol.

I went from 7, to X, to 11.

I skipped out on 8 and 9 and 10.5 /s.

I’m upgrading every 2 years now. I skipped the XS and I’ll skip the iPhone 12.

That's what I'm wondering too. I was able to reserve a Pro yesterday at 5pm no problem.

There certainly are plenty of GOLD iPhone 11 Pro models everywhere. Seems no one wants Gold. Is the iPhone Gold really Gold color or is it that new rose-gold mix? If so, no wonder no one wants it.

Apple will have hard time selling these phones! I have seen this is first launch almost all the phones are available in less that week of launch time. Very poor sales this time.

A lot of stuff "sold out" for the Sept 20th release date. There's still a few devices you could order right now that would arrive that day but most are delayed 2 to 3 weeks. So I'd say that's pretty successful launch already.
Are you talking about iPhone 6 Plus launch? I can still see iPhone 11 available, it’s failed launch - it’s ok if you don’t agree with larger crowd here.

The irony is it doesn't matter what colour you get, they look the same at the front of the phone - and the phone is too expensive to replace so 99% of us have cases. I wish I was brave enough to have a naked phone!

I’ve had a Caudabe Lucid Clear on my Xr. Kid and sister-in-law have the same on their Xr’s The case is tough enough that it let the phone escaped unscathed when my kid dropped her phone down concrete stairs. I can see the edges and back panel very well. No yellowing. It’s about as close to naked as I dare let the phone get. And I’ve got one on order for my new Pro. It’s a hard polycarbonate plastic with excellent clarity. Otherwise, I can’t say I’ve enjoyed the other clear cases I’ve tried nor recommend them. But this one is worth a try and at around $24 or less (or more with taxes) it’s worth a try for US customers. They do ship internationally but I guess that adds to the cost.

Wow...looks like a lot of people ordered the Pro. I almost ordered the iPhone 11 in mint green. I was really set on that model up until the last few hours toward pre ordering. I just fell in love with the spinach green Pro when I played with the AR version in my house. And I decided I really wanted the 2x lens back again in an iPhone, after all.
