IMPORTANT QUESTION:

in error, 2 upgrade orders for the same phone line...one from Apple one from Verizon...I'll be calling to cancel the Verizon order, but I can't for a couple of hours...might that issue effect my delivery date do oyu think?
 
Anyone’s order still on hold? I ordered a 64 Gold Pro and it still hasn’t updated to processing. It said when I ordered that I got launch day delivery but now I’m getting nervous

My annual pilgrimage to these boards to monitor UPS flights out of China...love you guys! But this year I have a different question that I’m seeing conflicting information for.

After years of delivery, I chose in-store pickup for the first time. Question is: do they require you to activate it before leaving? I’m picking up my wife’s Pro Max at 9:30am while she’s at work. Not only will I not have her old phone but she won’t be happy if her old phone suddenly stops working before her workday is over. When they shipped to me I’d simply wait to activate until evening (when all the servers are busted). Can I walk into the store, pick up the phone, leave, and activate that evening? I can’t imagine why not but I saw a few references to “must activate” on various websites. Thanks everyone.
 
If you read the note it says that almost every phone sold on the Apple store is unlocked. The only way I could get a locked phone, and they list all of the choices, is to get one under ATT Next. Every other option was unlocked.

In addition, historically there has been variances between phone hardware/modems. I know when I get the sim-free version it will likely be the most fully featured.

I remember calling AT&T about the activation fees last year...that was a PITA. By that point they had already been bombarded with everyone wanting it waived. "Since you're a long time customer, blah blah blah..." We'll see what happens again this year. If we can just pull the sim from our current XS Max and put those in the new 11 Max...we'll do that.

Well I certainly dropped the ball on ordering a clear case. Wasn't sure which model (Pro or Pro Max) I'd go with. Guess I'll have to order a 3rd party case for now and grab a clear later.
 
256 GB silver iPhone 11 Pro ordered at 0504 PST with September 20th delivery. Got my Apple brown leather case yesterday. Looking forward to testing out the new camera lenses!
