No sure if it was asked and answered earlier in the thread, but if in store pickup was selected, there won’t really be a change in status other than “Processing” until the day of pickup, correct?

That is correct. Is yours on processing? Mines still order placed.

How does UPS manage signed deliveries to apartment complexes? My apartment has Luxer locker units and a unified stock room. I'm wondering if a Leasing Manager will sign for me or the process behind this.

Someone must sign for it, that has to happen or they wont leave it. Generally the person staffing the office signs for it.

I did too. Doesn’t make sense why going through ATT would be an additional $5/month. Or maybe I need to go back and read my terms and conditions when I upgraded through Apple with att next.

Does Apple now use UPS? In the past all my shipments from Apple have been via FEDEX. In reference to MyChoice, the only features that cost extra are setting a 2-hour delivery window and redirecting to a different address. Rather than paying full price I believe you can pay on a per package basis (like $5). It important to note that if you don't already have mychoice setup and verified signing up now might be kinda useless to you as it takes a couple of weeks to verify your address (they send you a letter and have you go online and type in the code on the letter).

For me, my iPhones have always came via UPS on launch day. But when I just got my case delivered it was with Fedex.

Free membership can also select a 2 hour window, just has a $5 charge to it. Also the tracking the package( I assume you're referencing tracking the truck) hinges on the service the package is shipped with than premium or free mychoice. If it ships 2 day air you will be able to track the truck. UPS Ground? Not able.

Their new plan requires the “convenience” fee of $5 to upgrade after 50% is paid off. That means 15 months which completely defeats the purpose imo. So happy Apple still could use their old plans!

I had a nightmare with pre-order last year (somehow, despite preapproval, it went through as a new iUP instead of an upgrade/trade-in, and was a huge mess to fix) so was relieved at how smooth it went this year.

Got in right at 5am, picked my store pick-up time to match the pickup time for my Series 5 watch, and had the confirmation email 14 minutes later. Citizens approval email came a couple of hours later, and order is in Processing. iPhone 11 Pro Max in Space Gray. I'm usually on the new color bandwagon, but the green just didn't wow me this year. Maybe I'll regret it once I see them in person...we'll see.

I love the vibe of the Apple store on launch day, but I do miss the fun of tracking all the flights from China across the world.

For those that used Apple to upgrade on AT&T old plans I'd be careful. AT&T completely discontinued the Next and Next Every Year. Dont be surprised if anything changes. Same goes for Best Buy. This is too obvious of a loophole.

My order went in as soon as the store was live and I got the same crap. 512 Pro Max space grey. I don’t know why people who ordered the most popular (or so it seems) color got 9/20. Something fishy going on. I get screwed like this every year except last. And that was the year the release was later than normal.

It's not a loophole. AT&T has stated that the Next 24 plan is still available through select third part retailers for a limited time.

I don't know I received while ago my AT&T Next Every Year Installment agreement for the purchase and seems like the normal to me. I know they discontinued it on the AT&T site though and charge that additional fee.

I have an issue every time as well that screws me. Last year my order kept erroring every time I tried to submit using Apple store Apple. It took me five minutes to realize it didn't like my alternate number. Those five minutes cost me a week.
This time, it was the 5:00am. When I did the pre-approval, it had a link to add the time to my calendar. I checked to make sure it was there, and it had alerts at 15 min and 5 minutes to go. Never alerted. By luck I woke up at 5:15 and submitted order. But again I wait couple weeks. So annoying.

I’m glad I waited the extra few minutes for the Apple site to work for me. In past years, I’ve always ordered through ATT because it came up first. It’s silly for the extra $5 but going through Apple directly avoids that extra installment fee. Patiently waiting for 9/20.

I ordered a Verizon phone on IUP connected to my line. Does anyone know if I were to port my number now to an MNVO I could just swap in the SIM card when the new iPhone comes next week? I hate that Verizon charges the dumb activation fee.

No I'd wait. I did this with the iPhone X and it was a pain in the butt. I didn't want to let me activate it without the ATT SIM and I had ported to Cricket between preorder and release day. I was eventually able to activate it but I cannot remember how, it would be in my post history. I think we factory restored it but not 100%

Personally I'd wait, activate it and then swap to an MVNO.

mine has done the same. I would think with the increase in traffic to their site, there have been a few glitches

Last year, I was able to do the hold at the distribution center nearest me. I've had MyChoice for years now, and have used it at least the last 3 years that I can recall. Worked great, other than getting a message about a "hold" or "tentative date" (something like that) but it cleared and I showed up at the UPS CC, and as I was in line it pinged that my order was ready for pickup. There were a couple of folks ahead of me. They needed to get them moved from across the street.

How soon did you get in? For me was almost 10 past by time iPhone store app let me in. Then my preapproval process seemed ok but they seemed to have lost the credit card info for the payment to citizens (which was there in preapproval) took another 5 minutes plus to put than in. By then I saw my date and it was September 27 to October 1. It was space grey however and it seems that color went faster than the midnight green

Got it within 2 minutes of orders going live. I tried it first on my iPhone then safari on my Mac but even at 5:01 it was a no go, it finally went live on my iPhone but it wouldn’t let me see the shopping bag, ultimately made my order through mac and here I am with my order yet to go into processing stage!

You don't need premium to do that.

I think they removed the restrictions they had in place to control the load for the apple store. You can see updated order details now and can process changes and cancellations.
