Such a joke. Placed an order at 5:01 Pacific for a silver 256GB Sim-free iPhone 11 Pro Max and got 9/23 delivery (not launch date). Was grumpy at the time.

Just placed another order NOW, 7 hours later, for the SAME phone, sim-free, and got 9/20 launch day delivery.

What the heck, Apple?

Yeah I’m interested to see how many of those early backorders get bumped up

Sure there are a couple of ways but both involve paying full price at time of purchase vs payments. The payment terms are what requiring you to activate the device with a carrier which triggers the "Upgrade" fee.

Purchase a SIM Free iPhone or purchase a carrier model at retail and reuse your current active carrier SIM.

You would be shocked, each year I call at&t and be nice as I can...each year they have credit my account the upgrade fee.

For those that had early post Launch day projected deliveries in the past, how soon after placing the order did the delivery time frame change? Trying not to be too optimistic that my 9/27-10/1 window was going to moved forward, but if it were, when would it happen?

I can't remember exactly but I think it was several days after placing the order. I still missed launch day by several days, but not by nearly as much as initially projected by them.

Mine says processing

I bought 64 GB 11 Pro Midnight Green (Verizon) and have 9/20 delivery date. The apple store came up on my phone at almost 7:02. It didn't come up on my husband's phone until a couple of minutes later (which seems weird but I saw it myself).

DH ordered 64 GB 11 Pro Max Space Grey (Verizon) and has 9/21-10/1 delivery date. His order was placed roughly 2 minutes after mine.

The Apple Store app and the web wouldn’t load for me either until about 7:07 or so. I am surprised I got the 20th date. I ordered the silver pro 64 GB.

Green bar blues-processing. Really I've never received anything from Apple later than the promised date. I love this part, sharing the waiting and tracking with all of you. Too fun.
It's exciting to see the status change. I should really get back to being productive since there's no way my status changes again today, but I'll leave the tab open, just in case . . . . this is an addiction.
