It would be nice if Apple threw us a bone and shipped them out before launch day. That's one thing I like about a few other OEMs, they ship their phones days before launch.

That’s what I ordered. My status changed from "Processing" to "Preparing to ship" just after lunchtime (Pacific time). My order was placed at 05:01 this morning.

My order for same configuration was placed by 5:03 and it’s still processing, well I also had to increase my spend limit for my card to accommodate this order and remove it from hold so that could explain delay in my case!

Same, I canceled mine as I did at&t next through the Apple app. I’m now going through Best Buy, picking up phone on release date. Completely forgot about Best Buy. iPhone pro max 256 midnight green.

Same exact phone (ATT), with IUP, did the whole pre-approval thing. I am on the west coast, up at 4:50 am, start trying the app, black splash screen up until about 5:03ish, get it, few clicks, shows sep 20th date, I finally get to a screen where I need to confirm credit card which is so stupid (use to be able Apple Pay) nonetheless I was done within seconds, by the time I was out, no joke still 5:03AM, with later ship date.

Funky. Same phone, different experience. Apple store went live on my iPhone at 8:01:30 ET, screen said Buy, tapped that, got a message that they’re checking my pre-approval, few seconds later, new screen said confirm purchase, tapped that, got the confirmation on the screen and the confirmation email a few seconds later. Done in about 15 seconds. I’m on Verizon and I put the charges on my Apple Card. Btw, I drove to work early so I’d be ready at 8am, found a parking spot with a strong LTE signal, and turned Wi-Fi off. That worked well for me.

Exactly. One year I vaguely remember a UPS friend telling me that the iPhone was at their terminal days before the launch date.

They kept them locked up he said and nobody was allowed to touch them.

Same story here in central Illinois. Got in at 7:08 took longer for iphone app to connect (my iPad connected 2 minutes earlier but is on iOS 13.1 and it has never seen my preapproval info so it does not have it like the phone did). Anyway I had to do credit card stuff also (why did they preapprove and then make us do again) reenterig it. Another minute and yep in final window it went to 9-27 to 10-1 also.

Only works if you’re shipping to a residential address, ups my choice doesn’t work for commercial addresses and that’s where I have all my packages shipped to (my shop). I hate that, and not just because of this iPhone stuff. I can’t use my ups for anything unless it’s shipping to my home (which is very very rare).

Oh boy, woke up this morning to another email saying payment didn’t go through. I updated and at least got an e-mail this time confirming payment change. Hope it still delivers on Friday.
