Ordered Black 256 GB 11 this morning on ATT site and it’s expected to be here Friday.
My ATT order will not update.. I’ve been charged, device is pending contract in my att app under devices, it just says “order in progress”
I dunno why it will not update?
I just see 9-20 delivery date.
Everyone else seems to be getting a update to “Preparing to ship”
Is mine broken lol?

Definitely not broken. Welcome to AT&T preorders haha!!
I’ve got two orders, hours apart. The later one is Preparing for Shipping, the earlier is still In Progress. Happens every year. You may not see any changes until Thursday evening.
Also: They sometimes switch the status to Backordered right before shipping. The first time that happened I was flipping out haha!!

No. Nothing is wrong. This is the cycle it goes through every year. We have all been through this the past 6 years and can’t find any continuity or similarities between whose order updates to preparing to ship and whose does not. If you have a delivery date of 9/20, I would say it is 99% sure you will be watching for FedEx or UPS come Friday morning afternoon with the rest of us. Last year I didn’t get a tracking number or move to preparing to ship until Thursday morning. The year before that I got it on a Wednesday. In 2017 I got tracking info on Monday morning for a Friday delivery.
My order is preparing to ship, but I never have been charged sales tax. Is that normal? Will I be charged the sales tax on my bill or what?
I was charged for tax on one of the pros I ordered, but the other on I was able to choose “add to my next bill”. Not sure why the difference.
At the bottom of my second email it says
** “Total due” amounts will be charged to your debit/credit card when items are shipped.

That’s usually how it works, but when I did it today it gave me the option to add to next bill so I paid nothing today and will have a $72 tax plus $30 upgrade fee plus $28 installment fee on my October bill.
Someone did this on TikTok. It's fake. It's a pic of the phone zoomed in while his current phone is turn upside down. His hand is covering the notch.
Perfectly normal for AT&T, haha!! They get a bulk shipment of iPhones at their TX distro center, so technically they are OoS today.
This happens every year....you’ll get yours on 09/20.

Did you look over this? Was everything correct? Mine still shows my current phone under the installment plan.
