I have an XR and I'm not planning to upgrade until I lose software support or big software features. However, when I do upgrade, it's going to feel good.

That’s me! I had waited for reverse charging but it probably not coming in next 5 years. The camera is always the thing I look to upgrade. 14 Pro will be a nice upgrade despite the ugly cutouts.

If USB-C was going to be on the 14, I would seriously consider upgrading from my XS. But I’m thinking I’ll have to wait another year.

[Looks at MR's vs. image] I know around here we mostly tend to focus on the 'new hotness', but that iPhone 11 Pro series in Midnight Green was certainly not 'old and busted'. It had the look & feel of a piece of precision equipment, particularly in the darker colour ways.

I was that person who bought the newest flagship iphone at launch every year for over 10 years straight… and thennnnnnnn the pandemic hit lol

I honestly could keep rocking my 11 Pro Max and really don’t feel like I would be missing that much in terms of performance or the day to day experience, but I guess I am pretty overdue by my own typical upgrade cycle. I also would like to make sure I get a newer phone before they ditch wired charging altogether - next year’s model may be portless, and I don’t want it. By the time they officially announce the next model, the earlier flagship is already discontinued and it will be too late to get the last “good” iPhone.

Think I'll stay on my 11 Pro for one more year. The Pro line has gotten too bulky and will seemingly remain so while the non-pro line lacks compelling features to motivate an upgrade.

Maybe with 15 they will come up with something new. Or maybe my phone breaks at some point.

Unfortunately for me it's also going to be larger, which means it will no longer fit inside my car's center arm-rest with built-in charging cradle. :( This also means it will no longer fit in any of my shirt pockets either.

If there is no more iPhone mini, I will have to sit this one out. The iPhone 13 Pro is already too big for me, and this one is going to be even larger.
I was thinking about hoarding 4 or 5 mini’s so I could weather this large screen fad.

Would be interesting if instead of 3 cameras Apple just used the entire bump for one big sensor/lens combo. A 48 megapixel sensor and a flat ultra wide angle lens... the neural engine and computation photography could basically twist that into almost any composition you'd want I'd imagine.

Computational photography cannot replace lenses…

As an 11 Pro owner, I'm ready. Now my only question is whether or not to keep this phone as a backup... which I probably will as the trade-in has likely dropped considerably. My only complaint about the 11 Pro has been the battery which had to replaced once already (under warranty) and is down to 83% max again.

Very much looking forward to mid-September.

Looking forward to the better camera sensor with more pixels for editing the quick product shots I do.

My wife's gonna love my current 11 Pro. ;)

Unlikely. I'm betting if they don't get USB-C in the first run. There will be a 6month, next spring mid cycle refresh that changes the port.
