Why do they need to make the screen larger? The 11 pro feels like a really good size (maybe I’m used to it, I used to love the size of the 5S).

I get people have a need or want to have a larger screen size but I don’t get the need to increase it a little bit every few years unless there’s a drastic design change.

Won’t be upgrading my 11Pro. Next year I will get the 15Pro. Still not enough upgrades. I know it’s only a rumor, but I hold phones for a while and if there is a chance of a periscope camera next year, I don’t want to wait 3-4 years to get on that train. I do a lot of zoom shots and I don’t generally care about print quality for work.

oh wow, that is really a long list, but … regarding the ip11 pro:
  • The Axx ist still more than fast enough
  • I love the 5.8” display - please do not increase size
  • 5G will be a reason to upgrade
  • Cameras are excellent - only in harsh conditions we will see little improvements
Last but not least - everyone upgrading to the 14pro has to deal with already outdated lightning technology. Outdated already in 2018, when the iPad Pro shipped with USB-C.

iPhone 15pro is the one to upgrade to (if it ships with USB-C).

The iP11 pro is (very) good for at least another year or two. Save the planet, do not upgrade just because of mediocre changes.

I was that person who bought the newest flagship iphone at launch every year for over 10 years straight… and thennnnnnnn the pandemic hit lol

I honestly could keep rocking my 11 Pro Max and really don’t feel like I would be missing that much in terms of performance or the day to day experience, but I guess I am pretty overdue by my own typical upgrade cycle. I also would like to make sure I get a newer phone before they ditch wired charging altogether - next year’s model may be portless, and I don’t want it. By the time they officially announce the next model, the earlier flagship is already discontinued and it will be too late to get the last “good” iPhone.
Almost zero chance of that, it will be USB-C, the portless thing was a brief rumor not backed up by any facts

EU doesn‘t allow a portless smartphone. It has to incorporate USB-C unless it is too small. And Apple is already testing it.

Still have the 7+, the only reason i have to update is that the calling qualtiy sucks more an more ;-/ So i hope the jump from 7 to 14 will be worth it
iphone 4 - Crazy Incredible Wow
ipone 5s - Wow
iphone 7+ - Nice Screen, but the wow was gone, hole in the wallet lasted longer ;-)

I hope the 14 get's at least a "nice" over the 7, but let's see how much money they want from me, otherwise a 12 or 13 will do for shure. The most used apps work ok on the 7 and i don't game (or say, i prefer to game on a Big Screen), so the camera and battery life will be the most valued thing, say nightmode, but will it give me a good shot at the moon in the night, maybe the ipone 33....

For me i don't see the point if you you update every 2 years since the x, but if it makes you happy and you got the bucks..... it's still a free world in some places on this planet. Keep on Rockin Neil......

I really can't say enough for the added joy of waiting several years before upgrading your device. No matter how they try to make it sound, year-on-year upgrades are incremental and quickly fall into the background (iPhone 7 to X excepted). My iPad Pro is 6 years old this year and I just know how amazing the upgrade to the first iPad Pro with OLED is going to be in 2024.

11pro user here, wondering how the weight and dimensions have changed. I’ve really liked this device but am not keen for something heavier.

Following the 3 year design change thats been happening since iPhone 6, (6, 6s, 7, ; X, Xs, 11) I would bet on upgrading to the iPhone 15 to anyone coming from an iPhone 11 pro, right?

The camera is good enough on my 12pro. Not looking for more improvements, but the 1 thing that would make me consider upgrading is a higher optical zoom rate. That's one thing that can never be high enough. Haven't seen any mention of this yet.

My wife and I will each be upgrading from a 6sPlus since Apple's next iOS will not support our phones. We avoid unnecessary upgrades for the last 7 years. However, we enjoy seeing everyone buying new phones and helping push our Apple stock up (we bought a large amount of shares in 1998-1999 at less than $13 per share) and have more than enough to retire several years ago.
