Did you even read what I said?

I did. You claimed you cared for this phone like a ‘baby’, even awhile using a ‘screen protector’, yet, you damaged your own phone using a cloth/material to clean it and ironically, you damaged your own display. I was indicating you’re _not_ as cautious as you claimed to be. Case in point.

That is just untrue. Multiple Reviews show the iPhone 11 getting scratches after only a few days of use, Flossy Carter even pulled out his Note 10 which he had since launch and it had no visible scratches. This is a real issue!

Sorry but we will have to agree to disagree. Scratches don't just make themselves. If this was a real issue we'd of seen scratches on our test phones at work and the two at my desk have been handled by the entire test team. I know because when I put a new build on the phones I hand them to the test team. We don't have cases or screen protectors on those phones.

You can't disagree with facts. The iPhone 11's front glass is more likely to scratch. Multiple reviews say the same thing. Tell yourself whatever you like if it makes you feel better.

So you assumed that's the cause so you believe it justifies your case?
But could you explain me one thing though?! How would cleaning a phone with a screen protector ON damage the screen underneath? I genuinely can't imagine how it's possible.

Before you make more assumptions and condescend, I bought the phone used and I never used it without a case and a screen protector (just a cheap matte one) . There might've been some scratches before I applied one but nearly not enough to be noticeable to my OCD eyes. I was pretty shocked myself looking at the screen all scratched up.

That's not backed up by evidence. JerryRigEverything tested it on the moh's scale and just like the previous iPhones the 11 series give up at around 6. Making them more scratch resistant makes them softer but not scratch-it-with-your-finger-nail soft.

There's literally no proof of facts on your part, hence why I can absolutely disagree with them. Glass doesn't scratch itself.

Scratch tests show the iPhone 11 Pro is no more/less prone to scratches than any other phones. I've posted the videos many times in this thread. I'm afraid you are the one choosing to believe a narrative without any facts behind it.

I feel like I keep reading the same people in this thread just saying, “you’re wrong, no you’re wrong, no, you’re wrong....”
The glass could be sturdier, but the coating could be more susceptible to scratching this time around.
Clearly, many people and YT bloggers have indicated seeing scratches on the coating.
I also have some hairline scratches on my 11 Pro as well. Do I think they’ve developed a tad faster than on the previous phones? Yes, I think so. Do I think they’re crucial and can be seen under normal lighting? No, I don’t.
However, I don’t rule out the fact that some batches might have softer coating resulting in deeper scratches.

I just upgraded to the 11 Pro Max. I purchased the Spigen Glas.TR EZ Fit Screen protector. Goes on flawlessly and perfectly with this New applicator. And nearly invisible. I say nearly because the glass does not cover the notch and thus is noticeable. I always use a glass screen protector and have never had to worry about scratches.

This is the most level headed comment I’ve read thus far! Kudos!

I think the last couple years iPhones screens have been tougher to crack, and easier to scratch, hence my choice to get a $9 Amazon 3 pack of glass protectors. They fit great, look great, and they have a hardness if 9h. Good enough for me!

I think the way a phone display cracks is highly subjective. Lets say the phone is dropped, the crack would be based on three indicators: 1.) The angle the phone lands on 2.) The surface type its lands on and 3.) The height the phone was dropped from.

I would also add if the phone was using a case or not to help prevent the crack. I’m not saying this what your posting, but It’s really difficult to blame Apple that the displays crack easier when you consider what I mentioned above.

Hah, awesome post. So true with some people too.
I don’t know that I’ve personally used a 700w flashlight but..yeah, I’ve shined a quick light over my displays at unboxing. Where’s the issue with that? I may be wrong but your making it sound that you think it absurd to inspect a 1K+ purchase..I hope I’m wrong?

It’s definitely within your right to check for any damage on a premium phone when you buy it.

Between the "cheap phone" comment and throwing the "Benz" comment in there I'm 99.9% sure OP was a troll.

Linus mentions the marks on his phone here at the 9m6s mark:
He explains that he scuffed it when he put it into this pocket for the very first time.

Marques doesn't mention it but you can see the marks on his phone at the 2m47s mark:
Look at the top right of his phone.

Aaron made a video on this issue and in his longer-term 2-month review mentioned that the scratches increased in quantity over time:

There are other videos on YouTube that show confirm this as well, in addition to the pictures on the Apple Discussion thread.

The screen shouldn't scratch by simply putting the phone in your pocket, regardless of whether it's an iPhone or not.

This video really doesn’t support your argument though, because every situation will vary depending on debris/grit inside somebody’s pocket.(Which can very well scratch the display.)

I'm only here to say that the whole (blank)gate non-sense needs to stop. I refused to entertain another overblown, non-sensical, OCD driven post.
