Same issue. Verizon. Didn't have the issue until I ported the phone to Verizon (was on AT&T) last week. Some are coming through, some are not.

Same here, not getting notifications for new iMessages, but it has started already on iPhone 11 Pro - with one of the recent iOS betas. Continues in 12 pro max and 14.3

I've got an iPhone X and have experienced this randomly for several years. Frequently when rebooting my device, I would get a slew of messages from Android users in the group chat.

This issue is still outstanding on the iOS 14.3 betas. It’s extremely annoying and I really hope Apple fixes it at some point.
You are assuming it is Apple though. I mean an SMS does not go straight from phone to phone it goes to a message centre of sorts first then is forwarded to the phone. Telcos may need to push new carrier settings updates.

I have actually had a similar issue with this. Except it wasn’t with incoming texts. It was with outgoing texts. Me and my two best friends have a group thread; two of us have iPhones, the 3rd has an android. Every now and then both of us iPhone users will try to send a text in that group and it won’t let us. Only happens in that thread too.

After upgrading to my iPhone 12 Pro I found that in 'Settings > Messages' the 'Send & Receive' only listed my phone number and the 'Send as SMS' was turned off.

After having gotten all my devices set up identically I have not experience lost messages that I know of.

Yup, I've definitely experienced this on my 12. My wife and I are in several group chats (not iMessage as not everyone in the group owns an iPhone). I noticed that I would be missing texts that my wife sent and subsequently our friends would comment on (not knowing what my wife sent unless I asked her). Not a huge deal as the group text messages aren't constantly active, but still would be nice to have it fixed.

Definitely good to know as I performed a hard reset on my phone with no resolution. Hopefully the bug is squashed in future iOS release.

Everyone, please either leave feedback on Apple's support site, or contact them via Apple support. They need to know how many people this issue is affecting.

I just got my iPhone 12 Pro Max and I notice it has the same yellow tint that a couple people mentioned. I’m upgrading from a iPhone XS Max and there is a huge difference. I noticed while transferring my data. I hope they can fix this

Where have y’all been? This has been happening on my Xs Max since 14.2 Beta 2. It’s a software issue
Personally....I've been on Verizon's community board and Verizon reddit griping at them.....didn't know my ire should have been directed at Apple. 😆

I had this issue since iPhone 12 launch day. No problems on the 11Pro i just turned off. Multiple Network Settings re-sets on my own. Reboot a bunch of times, with no luck.

3x phone calls with Verizon--Tier2 support re-provisioned my account. No help. I saw it was affecting other carriers too, so thought it must be an Apple issue.

Called Apple--their senior support people had me wipe my phone. Re-install iOS via connecting to my Mac (re-download software and re-install). I lost all my data, as they didn't want me to restore from backup. So far, messages seems to be working. But it was a very painful process to get there.

Between Verizon and Apple, no one acknowledged that they were aware of other people having the problem. The whole thing sucks.

I’ve had this problem since Day 1 with iPhone 12, persists with ios 14.2. Apple and Sprint both clueless. Many hours wasted on this..... hoping for software/firmware/network update to fix this soon! Can send but not receive SMS/MMS (iMessage works fine; thankfully most contacts have iPhone.)

We've got a message group with one Android and we've been having the problem since iOS 14 came out on my iPhone 11 pro. We have no cell signal where we live so we use WiFi calling. All the messages suddenly appear we drive into town and have cell signal. All groups with just iPhone users work just fine. If I reboot the phone when I'm in WiFi calling after being in an area with no signal sometimes the messages will pop up. The same thing was happening with voice mails--but that seems to have fixed itself after the 14.2 update.

My wife has had this problem on her 11 Pro ever since 14.1.
A lot of SMS and MMS messages I send from my Note 20 and some of her other friends on Android devices are not getting through.
AT&T said there is no issue on their end.

Since the release of the new iPhone 12 models, many new iPhone owners have been running into problems with the Messages app. There are complaints from users who aren't seeing SMS messages from friends, are missing text messages in group chats, and who aren't getting notifications when text messages are incoming.

It's not clear if this is a problem that's related specifically to the iPhone 12 models or if it's a wider issue with iOS 14.1 and iOS 14.2, but the majority of complaints appear to be from iPhone 12 owners.

Those who are experiencing missed SMS messages are simply not seeing some text messages that are sent from Android devices, as MacRumors reader FraXis describes:Most of the people who are missing SMS messages are not seeing them in group chats, but there are reports of some standalone messages not getting delivered. From MacRumors reader TheElmnt:There are also separate complaints of Messages being received, but no notification showing up. This is a problem that even pre-dates the iPhone 12 and iOS 14, as we've had earlier issues with it too. From MacRumors reader bmac4:
Some Verizon users have been able to solve their SMS messages by downloading the Verizon Message+ app, but it's not a complete fix for everyone and it doesn't work for all non-Verizon users. One reader also had success resetting network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings), but that has not worked for others. Toggling off 5G also does not seem to be a solution.

This is likely a problem that carriers need to address with updated firmware or that Apple needs to fix in an upcoming software update. It appears to be a problem in both iOS 14.1 and iOS 14.2, and it's too soon yet to tell if iOS 14.3 is affected.

Are you having issues receiving some messages on iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models? Let us know in the comments.

Apple really needs to get their stuff together. Each new iOS update comes with a slew of problems, and it takes almost a full year for them to resolve the issues, at which time a new version of iOS lands, and a related slew of new problems are introduced. Then it takes almost a full year for the problems to be resolved, and...<rinse, repeat>

I couldn’t receive a message with a code from my bank and ended up not being able to settle on my first home loan because of this.. and I was blaming the banks system too 🤦‍♂️ Super stressful!
Glad I know it’s an issue now, resolved by getting them to send it to my partners phone (iPhone 11) in the end but we were a day late and had to pay a penalty..

But no issues with the mini? With all those cameras I am surprised anything gets past it.

It's gotta be an apple server issue because today my iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 9.3.5 didn't show an iMessage notification badge when new messages came in today. That's never happened before.

I've always had issues with group chats that included Android users. iOS 14 betas to now have just made it worse, but it's certainly not new.

Rinse and repeat as you say. It is getting very tiresome.
