Are you stuck using the Verizon app then or did you just download it, set it up, delete all texts within the app, and then go back to using the Apple messages app? I may need to try this.I solved the issue on my 12 Pro by downloading the Verizon Message+ app and then deleting all the text off their server. Since then, no missed texts for the last 6 days.
I'm on T-Mobile and this worked for me! Thanks!!!I saw it happen today on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I went into Messages in Settings, and re-enabled my phone number for "can receive messages at". Now it works.
No personal offense, but there is never a reason to choose Zuckerberg, ever. How would I know if I'm not receiving some messages? This is why, I think, many people now prefer WhatsApp.
Precisely! I’ve no idea why people in North America persist in using the unreliable and unencrypted messaging protocols of SMS/MMS for cross-iOS/Android conversations. Sure, for conversations between Apple users, use the Messages app for the wonderful iMessage. But why not switch to a 3rd party end-to-end encrypted service for all those green bubbles? And I don’t mean any of the apps owned by Fakebook Inc. Signal is a great app with seamless iPhone, iPad and desktop support, and you can even create a group and share a link with people to sign up. It’ll take a little effort to migrate some groups across, but wouldn’t it be worth it for a rich, reliable and secure messaging experience with your Android-loving friends?SMS is much worse in that respect. Very insecure.
If we all did this Apple would take note!Precisely! Only the ones who are not aware or don’t care about data privacy.
Just for the record, I am absolutely not a fan of WhatsApp and I do very much care about privacy. I do not have a facebook account. My statement was just what I have observed from my contacts. More and more, people send me messages on WhatsApp instead of text. I always prefer text, but I have gotten complaints, especially from Android users, that my texts arrive at odd hours of the night, which is not when I sent them. Nowadays, I find that Android users among my contacts seem to prefer WhatsApp even for making phone calls, because the call quality is better. No personal offense, but there is never a reason to choose Zuckerberg, ever.
The answer appears simple to me - everyone knows everyone can receive SMS and all you need to know is the phone number.Precisely! Turn off iMessage on all of your devices and switch off/reboot all devices. Then, turn on iMessage on your iPhone first, and ensure the service is fully activated and that new messages are set to send from your phone number, rather than an email address. Next, turn back on iMessage on your iPad, Mac, etc. This should help everything synch better.Received my iPhone 12 Mini today. No iMessage notifications, messages on other devices received before today are not on the new phone. Airmail 4 sounds not working. Apart from that, the phone is great and a huge upgrade from my clapped out iPhone 6.
real friends don’t let friends do things like that. You mean you can be friends with people who don't have iPhones?!
