I have a green and blue silicone and blue leather and none with this issue on my 12 pro

is it specific to the case or the phones magnet strength?

did I just get really lucky

Just purchased a black leather case for my 12 pro and on the lower left corner is not tight at all. Barely touch it and it comes off.... 😩 going back LOL.

Bought one the other day and seen this thread sure enough it did slightly pop out bottom right.
Have a wallpaper seam roller (see below) gave it a couple of rolls along the bottom seems to have fixed it.

Two iPhone 12 Pro Max’s in my household.

Between us we have three apple leather case and two apple silicone case.

No corner popping out in any of them.
Hmmm, maybe I got 2 defective cases lol.

Had to push my phone back in with my Baltic blue leather case recently.

Yesterday same thing happened twice with my deep navy silicone case. 🤔

Not really a big deal for me.

I don't know if it's just me, but these 2020 silicones feel really really nice...still do after a few months (comparing it to previous silicone cases I've had for XS Max, 6 Plus. I don't know what the iPhone 11 cases felt like).

They just feel softer. Also for me personally, not much lint and dust build up like the previous versions.
I also switch between my apple leather and silicone cases, my silicone case still picks up lint like it’s going out of fashion. 🤦‍♂️🥺

Hopefully one day apple can solve this problem.

Hopefully, one day, Apple will use the same materials that they use for Apple Watch Sport band (Fluoroelastomer) on the cases! Fluoroelastomer stuff is magical IMHO…rubber, yet does not pick crap up.

Do we know if there is any progress on this issue? As I don’t want to order again to have to send back again 😞

The problem is NOT with face-in or face-out in pocket…..the problem is that with the corners popping out is that if you drop your phone face first, then your phone are at risk of shattering because the corners peel back easiLy.
Exactly this! I have a 12 pro and was using the baltic blue case for past three months. No signs of the corners popping out BUT I dropped the phone on concrete this past week and two corners popped out slightly...enough to cause a small nicks/scratches in two corners of the phone. Horrible case for drop protection! A cheap $5 case would have kept the phone secured. I'd stay away from this version.

I will add my 2 cents worth, bought a saddle brown for the 12 PM from amazon and it was loose. As others have said, the corners popping out isn't a big deal by itself but if the corners are easy to pull off the case will NOT protect the phone in a fall. It the case isn't protective, why bother with it?

Also, if you are looking for alternative leather cases, stay AWAY from Blackbrook. There is a separate thread here about them but basically worse quality than the apple leather cases and overall a very poor quality case. I'm going to have to give up on leather this year unless somebody new comes along.

Best advice given here in quite some time.

I’ve read this whole thread and ended up going to Best Buy to look at apple cases. There were only black ones but I opened and tried 5 different ones. Every one of them was way too loose for my liking. I do wonder if the larger size of the PM makes a difference in the fit since it seems like the mini’s do t have an issue.

Same problem here. Two short drops and I have knicks in 3 corners of the metal band now. The corners of the case were popped out when I picked it up. This was with two separate Apple leather cases. I’ve been using Apple leather cases for years and haven’t had this problem prior to the 12 Pro cases.

My Black Pro Max case fits perfectly. In fact, it's hard to remove (I just got a Blue silicone to change colors). Both fit snugly.

my recommendation is to buy a few of your desired apple cases via amazon and select the best one. For my california poppy leather case, I purchased 3 cases. Each had their faults, i chose the lesser of the evils. Not all apple cases are created equally

my corners dont really pop (unless dropped) and the lip is consistent around all 4 corners

Either I have very bad luck or I have much higher fit expectations because I’ve tried 5 different apple leather cases and give up. Every one of them fit poorly on the bottom corners, wayyyy too easy to pull it off. I’m waiting on both a decided amd a saddleback case, they both HAVE to be better than the apple case.

Seems pretty common. It affected both of my leather cases. I’m using an Apple clear case now. I was getting too many scuffs on the metal band when the leather case corners would pop off after a drop (three drops, three corners scuffed). I was worried it would eventually result in screen cracks.

I've tried several cases on the 12 and 12 mini and came to the conclusion I don't think any case will be able to reliably hold on to the flat edges. Rather than glue it why don't we just all go caseless like SJ wanted?

If your case is coming off that frequently your phone is likely defective or distorted. I’ve had numerous cases for my 12 mini and not one has popped off or even threatened to come out of the case.

That’s with the genuine silicone case, genuine leather case and a Bullstrap leather case.

Joined the board just to say that I had the same issue (well, my dad did). Not long after buying him the Apple iPhone 12 red leather case, he asked me why his phone silenced itself. I noticed that the mute switch was set to silent, so I switched it back and told him that was the problem. He kept coming back to me with the same problem, multiple times a day. Upon investigating I discovered that the phone pops out of the corners slightly and sometimes hits the mute switch, thereby silencing the ringer. I would add that he is extremely careful with his phone and never drops it nor throws or slams it on any surface.

It's so frustrating because it's such an expensive case, and it's fantastic in every other regard. I really want to love it. Oh well, I will be returning the case to Apple.
