It pops off. I barely dropped mine from the sofa to the floor. That little 2 feet drop popped the phone out some.

I don't trust it for higher drops so I have ordered a Bullstrap case.

Genius strategy by Apple. Would cause many iPhone to break, forcing people to buy new ones or get AppleCare!

Little update I went to apple store today to return mine. The guy informed me that the cases are not defective and that they solely rely on the MagSafe connection to keep the case on and that the case kinda just sits on the phone. He had one pulled out of his pocket and showed me his did the same with a leather case on same phone. Just wanted to update you all as I spoke with a apple rep and this will hopefully help you all. I got a second case still same issue. So I probably will be returning but I just love this case and color of the blue on blue.

I have had a black leather case for about a week and it is tight on my mini. I do put it face in when in my pocket and the corners have not popped out. The only time a corner pops out is when I slam it face down on a hard surface (on purpose to test it), then the top right corner pops out. Still happy with it and will probably keep it.

Are there any other leather cases that are MagSafe certified / compatible?

I haven't noticed my leather case popping off and it was very very tight to install.
However I notice that lip is not even. Long sides around bottom corners are barely above the screen and also same with other upper corner.

Anyone else notice that long sides lip is not even but has "sloping"?
Also noticed that phone placed on the table (backside down) is wobbling just a bit, so little that placing corner or copying paper under it stops it. Not sure if leather thickness vary?

Maybe phone is bent but I cannot notice that with placing ruler on the display but it is pretty hard to measure in every direction. However before putting it in a case I placed our both 12 Pro's against displays over each other and I did not notice wobbling.

Edit. By the way, what is correct way to remove the leather case? Mine seems so tight I don't think I can easily get it off without using a lot of force and I would not want to bend my phone that much.
Also how it is supposed to install? Mine had photo in the box showing to put volume button side long edge first but it felt way tight to install that way so I ended up slipping upper end first and then forcing bottom down like I have been doing with my previous iPhones + leather cases.

I might found a little workaround. I just pulled of a little piece of a tissue and pressed it into the diagonal opposite corner from the corner which it pops of. The phone now sits even tighter into the case (silicon case). I am not sure how this will work over time, but for now: problem solved. However, i am not sure how well this works with the leather case.

I'm so glad I found this thread. I'm on my 2nd Apple leather case and just was about to return it for the Apple silicon case. I've resorted to using double sided tape on the corners which seems to work for now. It's rather ridiculous you have to resort to bodging so called Apple premium products to make them work properly. My XS letter case never had this problem, it fitted like a glove.

Edit: I do wonder if the problem is related to the model. I have the 12 Pro Max and before the double sided tape "fix" all the corners would slip even to the point where the ringer mute switch was being moved to the mute position regularly.

Do you have a picture of what you are experiencing? I would venture to guess its an inconsistency with the case not your actual phone.

I mean this. Photo even makes it look a bit better but if looking even more angle it shows lip is hardly above the screen in lowest positions shown in the photos.
Also when placing phone on the table in case (phone camera/backside against table of course) there is a slight wobble. But so little that even placing a corner of a copying paper under it stops wobbling. Maybe camera cutout frame is a bit higher causing that, looks a bit like it might be when viewing it carefully from different angles.

That’s a manufacturing issue. My Apple Leather case does NOT have those fluctuations.

I know not all have, but others please check too.

I have another black case that does not noticeable have this issue but it has very poor plastic like looking leather and many other small issues.

You will never not notice this again. I spotted this a few years ago on Apple Leather cases. It is a bit OCD, but it is the reason I can't purchase them again. Every year I try and I always have this. The one I got this year was even worse than those pictures. I know there are some that are "perfect", but I am astonished that it is so common and Apple is OK with this. I know it is leather but this is just unacceptable.

Has anyone had this issue with the Magsafe Clear Case? I just got my case yesterday and the bottom right of the phone keeps popping up, so I am debating on trying to send it back for an exchange? Pro Max if that matters.

Finally someone else seen this!
I kept the case and did not bother to try third because leather quality was good in this one.

Ha. Tried one of those last week. It kept popping off on both corners. Honestly so disappointing with quality of Apple cases this year. The silicone one I had was a bit loose but fine.

One year....I think with the 8+...was when I finally gave up. I think i bought like 7 of them and returned them all. Again...most people slap a case on and don't think about it. However when I noticed it....it haunted me forever...hahaha. Every year when I get the new phone I try it again....have yet to keep one. The first generations of the 5 never had this issue, so when Apple went back to square design I was convinced the problem would be resolved. How sad I was that it was not. This years had the most problems of all. Overall all through the years the fit just keeps getting worse.

Just got Baltic blue, production 12/20. Still corner pop off. But I used kids glue as noted above at the corners. Works great.

I’ve done two SB and now a black and none of them fit right. For the first time in a bunch of years I’ll be doing some thing else, I just ordered a Caudabe Sheath.

I have had 5 (1 exchanged due to leather pattern so kept 4) Apple leather cases for my PM and none pop off at the corners. I have never put them in my front jeans pocket though. I love the look and feel of this case and have no problem with the change in leather.

I had a Sheath for my Xs and 11 Pro and loved it! But this year they had fit issues, mine arrived here in the UK and was slightly warped. Awaiting a replacement but they aren’t available yet 😩
Funny you say that. I bought a sheath and mine was wonky too, doesn’t sit on the phone right at the top. Had to order a replacement still waiting. Must be a quality issue.

I have bought a leather case for now from amazon Baltic blue colour and haven’t had any problems with it popping off. However I can see that if it was made even slightly loose it would come off easy. I guess there are quality issues with these aswell. Just have to get lucky and get a snug fitting case as it doesn’t have a massive lip.
