iPhone 12 Apple Leather Case Corners Popping Off: How Common is this Issue?

No problem with my black leather case on my 12 Pro. Just got it today. It is snugly in the case, and takes some effort to remove the phone from the case. It doesn't easily pop out.
As far as size comparison. It's virtually the same size and thickness as the Caudabe Sheath, perhaps ever so slightly smaller. It's not as grippy as the Sheath, but a little grippier than the 11 Pro leather case, probably because of the square edges.

I just got my saddle leather case and can confirm it is doing this. Originally I got the clear case with my 12pro but stopped using it quickly as the phone would pop out at the corners when I had it in my pocket and I even slight bent my leg (like to put my shoes on). I had hoped the leather case would behave better but, alas, that is not the case. I think the fundemental issue is that the case does not wrap around the front face of the phone much at all due to the squared edge design. This combined with the highly polished edge band making for a very slippery surface means the phone can easily pop out of the case.
I have not decided how I will proceed with this case. I have a leather sleeve from Torro and I really like that it protects the phone in my pocket but I can enjoy the phone naked when I am using it. I may end up returning the case and waiting until Apple released their saddle leather sleeve. We shall see.

Not liking the odds of getting a case that holds my mini. I am surprised that Apple didn’t catch this problem before it went on sale. If someone had told me prior, that the Apple leather case doesn’t do a good job, I would have told them they are nuts.
The good news is in addition to having the Poppy and Saddle Brown, I also have the Kumquat silicone. Hopefully, the silicone case will work if the leather doesn’t.

Well I decided to initiate a return (that didn't take long). Unfortunately I am outside my return window for the clear case but oh well. Yet another dust collector for me. I could probably bring it in to the store to get a refund but not really worth the hassle in these times.
I think it’s just a batch of defective cases. I have a 12 Pro saddle brown case, and it fits super tight. There’s no way it would come off without me purposefully trying to take it off.
Interestingly, the two replacement cases, Amazon have charged me the Pre-VAT price of £39.78 each.

I received my second case, and the leather feels better (more grain, less lines in it). There's also no imperfections around the camera cutout like the first one had.

Perhaps it's not the case that's defective, but the phone itself. Maybe it's slightly warped.
I’ve tried 4 different leather cases (saddle and poppy) and 2 silicon ones (blue and green) with 2 different iPhone 12 Pro’s. All exhibited this issue. It never happens when using it around the house. It sometimes (not always) occurs after a walk outside and it is in my jeans pocket. I go to use the phone and that’s when I notice the bottom right corner is slightly lifted.
Corners seem to be fine on my black leather for 12 pro. Ive only taken it off a few times since I got on Friday. I did have the issue on 2 silicon cases (blue and black).
I didn't have any problem with my second case today. I had it in my pocket the same as the other one and it didn't come off at all.
Very happy with it, feels so good in the hand. I'd still like a bigger lip to cover the band, but I guess it looks good this way.
The leather might compress around the phone after a while, that might help. But I did see a big difference in the 2 cases I got, so if it pops off get another one.

I cant see how it would tbh as it's wrapped around plastic?
FWIW, the Apple white silicone case I picked up for my 12 Pro is just about as perfect a case as I have ever seen. Perfect fit. Easy to keep clean, too.
My first Baltic blue (from Apple.com) frequently popped out at the top right and bottom left corners so I returned it. Just bought a replacement (from the Apple store) and the top right is tighter but the bottom left still slips out frequently. I’m a bit gutted as I’ve always used Apple leather cases and I love the slim squared profile of the new one.
If it wasn’t £50+ I’d give it a pass but I think I’ll return this 2nd one and try a Bellroy - I like their other products but a bit sad that the Bellroy case only has a leather back and not the sides as well.
