I downvoted you, then thought about it more.
I find that Lightning is superior to USB-C when it comes to smartphone applications. But there really needs to be a standard for this. I find USB-C to be awkward and cumbersome to use when compared to Lightning. But if USB-C is the standard we have then so be it. I will adapt or just buy a wireless charging pad.
I removed my downvote because after thinking about it I realized that you are right and it was undeserved.
How does that solve your problem of not being able to plug it in?So not only are customers not getting a power brick (was fine with that), they are also not getting a cable they can use with current current iPhone power brick (I have the iPad Pro so that should work fine). I really wish Apple would just switch the ports from lightning to USB-C then give me a USB to USB-C cable.
What about customers who bought iPhone 11 and only got a power adaptor with USB A? What then?
Unless I’m missing something, you can’t plug USB C into USB A and make it work
5 what?5G speeds are not enough to entice you? Its using the same cable as your X, so whats the big deal?
Yes, but it'll probably stop working after 6 months.Mercedes seem to come with USB-C nowadays
If you have an existing power adaptor you likely have an existing USB-A to lightning which you can keep using. When the whole world starts to move to USB-C bricks you will then still have a cable you can use. if you have neither of those things, you’re in a very small minority and will buy your first USB-C brick.Hmm, not sure what I think about the gray fabric choice. It makes it looks dirty from the beginning.

They expect you to buy a USB-C MacBook to charge the phones. Either that or they're pushing people to use wireless charging. Here's a charging cable that you can't use with your existing power adapter!
Agreed 100%The MacBook Pros when USB-C only in 2016, iPad pro went USB-C only in 2018. It is past time for Apple to go USB-C on all of it's devices.
I would love to be able to carry one charger and cable for all my devices.
So basically what Anker has supplied for a few years now. No doubt Apple will claim that their way of designing a braided cable will be revolutionary.
"We saw other companies make these cables. Apple wanted to wait until we could do it properly."
No it isn’t... X has lightning to USB-A...5G speeds are not enough to entice you? Its using the same cable as your X, so whats the big deal?
Thats because the lightning port is a perfect solution for a mobile device. USB of any flavor? Not so much.I cannot believe this company refuses to give up the lightning port.
And nothing to plug it into.
I think it's more due to the rubber-like material they use for the cable. Although it is flexible, it can crack when bent continuously. The durability issues that I've seen most often is on sleeve connected to the plastic plug. That area seems to be the most susceptible.I will never understand all the complaints about apples cable durability. What on earth does everyone do to these things? I've had 5 iPhones, as many iPads and probably 10 iPods. and worked remotely for over 15 years (until March 2020 anyway...) have flown over 2 million air miles and I have NEVER had one cable go bad. I don't get it.
