Didn’t MingChi Kuo suggest the regular models would have 4gb ram too, Pro models would have 6gb?

can anyone confirm?

If Tim Cook is upholding the design standard from Steve Jobs&Apple then the iPhone 12 will 100% look like this

But they’re not

we have been told what the design will be like by reputable leakers

First, John Prosser is my new ‘Go-to’ source.

Second, This is probably one of the best years I’ve ever for Apples lineup in terms of having a price point/size iPhone for everyone. If this rumor proves to be true, they’re literally have a target demographic for every consumer all the way from a $399 iPhone To the Max Pro.

(Personally, I also hope there will be a keynote this year, but I’m sure it will be in a much different form if there is one.)

interesting how 9to5mac basically stopped reporting him isn’t it? Shame. Just means I visit macrumors more now

thanks for sharing this wonder what the BOE screen will be like vs Samsung’s.

samsung by far has the best quality OLEDs in the industry, but BOE I’m sure will deliver quality at a lower price.

What will the dimensions and size of 5’4 iPhone be and how comparable it is to the original iPhone, 3G and 3Gs with 3.5’ screens?
Not sure yet but the idea is generally that it is like the 4.7" iPhone but with a full screen + notch instead of the big top and bottom bezels.

That makes zero sense. If you said "definitely not a non-LiDAR one", OK, I can understand. I hope you're not implying just because Apple calls something Pro, you have to have it by virtue of being named Pro, regardless of features. Unless $1,000 is just chump change to you.
[automerge]1588272971[/automerge]

Why not? Is there a specific feature the Pro has that you really need, or is it just because Apple calls them Pro?

Taking literally what you said, $400 (in a direct conversion, without import taxes) is two months of minimum wage in Brazil. Even $200 would be expensive, although not out of the question. Yes, I know Apple doesn't target that particular demographic.
I don't care if it doesn't make sense to you. I only buy what I can afford and if I can afford $1000 phone every 2-3 years what is it to you? Your comment is completely ridiculous and irrelevant in my situation. Your implication that I only would buy a device because it says Pro to show I am better than others is about as mature as making fun of someone because they have a cheap or old phone and therefore having a lower status in society

sounds too good to be true. I imagine a big proportion of iphone x/xs/11pro owners would love 5.4", and at $350 less?

im a iphone 12 5.4" owner day 1 if so

And people laughed when I said they should reinvent the original iPad mini as a phone. I know we have smaller bezels now, but still...

Huge if true. OLED and smaller size is the only reason I went Pro. I’d be all over a 5.4” non-pro OLED.
I mean. The zoom on the “pro” models isn’t that great—11 Pro Max for me—I am much more intrigued by the 5.4”. I keep talking about wanting a smaller phone. It’s iPhone or Pixel. I used the assistant so much when I has a Pixel. I basically never use Siri because it never gets a text right, much less anything else. If the larger phone had better zoom (like 5x) I might stick with the larger form factor.

5.4in is about to be the best iPhone model of all-time.

exaclty. While I would love a small phone with good zoom. This sounds perfect. I don’t understand the lack of decent 6”< options.

While I don't see it mentioned here, the rumors also suggest only the Pro versions will get the redesign with squared off edges.
Makes commercial sense. Hell I can’t wait to drop (intentionally for a change) the slippery soap bar form factor I’ve been juggling with for SIX years now.

A chamfered-edge redesign (hybrid of an X and 5) will be welcomed with open arms, lips and truth be told, a bit of tongue.

If I have to put up with a tiny size increase from 5.8 to 6.1 (from my X to an XR basically) then so be it, the ergonomics alone make the 12 Pro worth the upgrade from my X. All the other features (LIDAR etc.) are just a bonus as far as I’m concerned.

A 5.4” iPhone will likely be the same size or smaller than the iPhone SE 😍

Now a way to hack three cameras into that bad boy.

Knowing Tim Apple, the non-Pro version will end up with lower PPI display, less RAM, no pro-motion, worse camera, inferior speakers and probably larger bezels. Ultimately forcing people to get the Pro version...

LOL I’m 100% with you there. I remember that 4s launch vividly, all the rumours leading up, the tear drop shape iPhone, etc. I had the same reaction to iPad Air 2 as well. At least iPads now have a clean / simpler naming setup. I’d love to see iPhone go the same way.

Yeah that was gonna be some amazing spectacular iPhone from the future! I had forgotten the teardrop mock-ups! That was going to be sooo sexy.. It was that moment I realized "#NeverAgain. I'm not buying into the rumors. I'll read, I'll look, but I will never believe." :) Then the double-burn of the 3rd gen iPad after that... I still have the scars. I do like my 5th gen iPad mini, tho. It really is the perfect iPad I've always wanted.

I think I'm going to hunt down all those old iPhone 4S rumors and re-read them, just for nostalgia. :) Relive the burn!

It’s likely a staggered launch with announcements followed by a September through November launch. [Similar to what happened with the iPhone X launch in November 2017]. Which in way, if Apple has this many models launching, I think they should be segregated, that way it gives different emphasis to different phones. Otherwise, that’s a lot of phones to present all in one Keynote, and it gives Apple extended time if they need to due to the pandemic.
I want the 12 pro max 6.7

Ironically, I think the small notch looks uglier than the notch we have now, but I guess it's a familiarity thing. Also, I do wish they didn't have such a clumsy naming system: "Pro Max" etc. To the average consumer, it is probably very confusing.

The non pro models need to have a higher ppi OLED screen than 326 ppi to compensate for the pentile sub pixels. Hopefully they will be around 1080p, which should also satisfy a lot of the previous iphone 6/7/8 Plus owners looking to upgrade.

Hmmm. Do you really need two 6.1” inch phones in the line up? I guess Apple thinks this is the Goldilocks size for phones I guess?

I’ve never owned a phone larger than the iPhone X obviously it’s nice to have more screen but at the expense of pocket space and on handed use I dunno. I see myself being in either the 5.4 base, 6.1 Pro or maybe even giving the 6.7 pro max a try if the dimensions are reasonable.

That sounds about what I expected.

6.1-inch iPhone 12: $749 is likely what I will get, since I'm not on contract and always pay full price.

The 5.4-inch phone is too small for me, and I don't want to spend $1000+ a phone so the other options are not for me.

So in the fall, we're looking at:
  • 4.7-inch iPhone SE (2020): $399
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 11: $599
  • 5.4-inch iPhone 12: $649
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Plus: $749
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro: $999
  • 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max: $1,099

fixed it for you.
