I am looking forward to the blue mini me. I sold my SE (2020) earlier today and using my SE (orig). I wish it were the same size as the SE (orig). That would have been beyond awesome but, glad it is a little smaller than the SE (2020).This just gets me more excited for the iPhone 12 Mini!
Less typing mistakes (especially with iOS’s awful AI autocorrect) and much better for reading longer and wider company emails, PowerPoint decks, etc. I LOVE the size at work because I don’t typically use a desk computer for very long. It’s almost all on my phone where I am.The guy in the photo literally has the same size hand as me (holding a friends iPhone). How on earth do people like such big phones now? They're heavier, harder to use with one hand and are just big for day-to-day normal usage
My thumb won’t reach the top left on the mini either, but at least one handed typing will be super easy on it.I could never ... especially since I still cannot reach the top left with my thumb so I might as well go big or nothing
i just tested the size of the Mini overlapping with my Max and it almost makes no difference. I still have to stretch my thumb and can’t reach the top left so I might as well get a bigger screen if I have to use the phone the same way (two hands)
That’s a bit concerning. The battery in the 12 Pro is about the same size as the X was three years ago. Hope the battery life is at least the same as the 11 Pro.
Yes, the LCD display in the XR/11 has rather large bezels, even compared to the OLED X/XS/11PM. Further reductions has a 6.1” display in almost the same footprint as the 5.8” models.
It would be more helpful if you compared the screens on the fron of the phones. After all, that’s what people look at.
With the launch of the iPhone 12 lineup, Apple now offers more size options than ever when buying an iPhone. We've previously posted size comparisons between leaked iPhone 12 dummy models vs a variety of other iPhone models. Now that the iPhone 12 has been officially released, we have revisited these size comparison graphics and found that the dummy models were right on the mark.
iPhone SE vs iPhone 12 mini vs iPhone 7/8/SE 2 vs iPhone X/XS/11 Pro vs iPhone 12 Pro vs iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 Pro Max / XS Max / 7 Plus / 8 Plus vs iPhone 12 Pro Max
This graphic shows the relative sizes of all the iPhones from the iPhone SE to present. The iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 / Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max sizes fit nicely between the existing models.
Note, we took some small liberties for the interest of comparisons. For the iPhone 11 Pro Max image, the back camera setup does not accurately represent the XS Max, 7 Plus and 8 Plus cameras, but the overall sizes of all these devices are near identical.

Apple reportedly believes the 6.1" iPhone 12 model at $799 will be the most popular selling iPhone with the iPhone 12 Mini being the second most popular. Many are happy with the return of a smaller iPhone. The iPhone 12 mini shares the same features as the iPhone 12, so you aren't missing out much when choosing between those models, though the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max do bring other improvements.
For those wanting to see how big an iPhone 12 mini might look in your hand, we made this graphic that can be used from an existing iPhone. The image has been updated to reflect the final iPhone 12 mini release.

Right there with you.Really Really Really peeved that I need to get a Max to get the best camera. What I really want is a mini with the Pro Max camera. Make the battery a little smaller, it's a compromise I'm willing to live with. (and I'm sure others are too)
The best camera is the one you have with you, and I'd rather not have that giant slab on me. I'd much prefer something that easily fits in any pocket.
I'm a pro that shoots video. The only comparison that could be made with screens is to a DSLR, because actual pro video is shot with a viewfinder. Then the argument I think is the 12 Pro is close enough and still compact by comparison to the Pro Max and in the same size range of most recent products as the Mini is a return to a small form factor.
Apple also markets the Pro / Pro Max as Pro and all the photo video they can do. That said a true photo video person or even enthusiast wants a decently sized screen whether 6.1 or 6.7 to take, view, edit. The Mini I’m sure is still quite a good camera. Just not the best. And for those that want an excellent camera without massive size, the 12 Pro provides that.
People wanting the very best camera in the Mini size represents likely a small market segment.
So why would I want a 12 Pro when it's smaller than the 11 XR and has edges like the 5S which cut uncomfortably into my hand as I held it. Won't be touching it with a 10' barge pole.
Do you actually want bigger bezels of the XR? The screens are the same size at 6.1”, but the 12 Pro OLED display is vastly superior to the LCD in the XR/11. The square edge design is subjective. If you don’t like the design don’t buy. Simple. So why would I want a 12 Pro when it's smaller than the 11 XR and has edges like the 5S which cut uncomfortably into my hand as I held it. Won't be touching it with a 10' barge pole.
The bezels on the 12/12Pro are not only smaller than the XR/11 by quite a bit, they are even smaller than the X/XS/11 Pro as well, plus the square edge frame shrinks it down even further. I think I’ll end up going with the 13 Pro next year since I’ll go up in screen size and no really adding much overall size. Although, I’m really interested to get my hands on the 12 Mini. Really like the idea of having a smaller footprint.Upgrading from my trusty X to a 12 Pro.
I also have a XR for work, but find it just that little bit too big.
So I'm curious, the 12/12 Pro has the same sized 6.1" screen as the XR, but according to that image the actual phone dimensions are somewhere between the X and the XR? Is that right? Hopefully going back to the squared edges will also add that extra ergonomic sense.
same!!! Love the max battery life but want to try a smaller phone. Grrr....I was sold on getting the Pro tomorrow but after reading this thread, I’m back on the fence.
