Only the Mini.Question: does the issue affect even the iPhone 12 / 12 Pro / 12 Pro Max or only the iPhone 12 mini?
Use the tip of your thumb and it will open.Another thing I just noticed: Notifications don't open with my thumb.
It does indeed. Just a very light baby touch seems to work, mostly.Use the tip of your thumb and it will open.
I know. I can't believe they haven't tested this iPhone with a screen protector and a case. It's not like it's unusual to use both 😄.I'm a huge Apple fanboi but I have to admit this is a huge embarrassment for Apple.
Guess only mini fingers works on the mini iPhone 😄It does indeed. Just a very light baby touch seems to work, mostly.
Update. The issue seems to have gone away completely with iOS 14.3. Only had the lock screen stick once. But that was when the phone turned on from updatingIm using the apple leather case and bodyguards prtx synthetic glass screen protector btw
Update to iOS 14.3 it fixes itBeen experiencing this issue since Friday, when I received my new iPhone Mini. Frustrating not being able to unlock my phone while wearing a mask. I hope Apple soon addresses this issue publicly as we’re already at 17 pages of postings on this thread alone.
Just update to the 14.3 beta. Issue resolvedI made a report last night and thanks for taking the time to talk to the Engineer. Advising you return the phone is a waste of time, as another one in stock is going to do the same thing. He may have known that but, he had to go through the steps just the same.
I would imagine that anything metal touching the body would work fine...anything that doesn't conduct electricity (plastic, rubber, leather, etc.) won't work.Have you try with a metal case or only with leather/tpu case?
Update to iOS 14.3 beta...issue is resolvedNot good to hear that
I have waited long to get the perfect phone
Please Apple do something
Others have reported that it seems to improve the situation but doesn't fix it entirely. Are you having zero issues using your thumb since upgrading?Just update to the 14.3 beta. Issue resolved
Others who updated to the beta stated the problem remained.Just update to the 14.3 beta. Issue resolved

Zero issues. I must have unlocked it 100 times and no issue.Others have reported that it seems to improve the situation but doesn't fix it entirely. Are you having zero issues using your thumb since upgrading?
What kind of case and screen protector are you using?Zero issues. I must have unlocked it 100 times and no issue.
Wow $59 screen protector? Which one? I bought a 3-pack for my wife's Pro Max for like $14 and they seem to be working great. That said, before this time (when I applied one of her spares to my phone), I've never used screen protectors because I know in the past they have messed up prox sensors. That’s the thing, I ripped off the $59 glass screen protector thinking it was the screen protector issue, now waste my money on that, and now they want me return back to them to fix.......what a joke.
On the first day when I picked up the unit , then applied the protector, try to use the phone thought it was just me, now suddenly it’s all over the internet, thought it was only me......as there was nothing on internet then...
Bodyguards tempered glass and apple leather case. Didn’t work at all before the update white these two accessoriesWhat kind of case and screen protector are you using?
Thanks for the video.
