And what about flashlight button?
Apples website just good 14.3 public betaHow do I update to the 14.3 beta?
hi
What about flashlight and camera buttons?
Used my whole thumb like u said and it workshiif I use my finger like you, it works even on 14.2. Please use whole thumb, put is flat, it won't work then.
It was working at all for me on 14.2. 14.3 is way better but not perfectUsed my whole thumb like u said and it works
Doesn’t cover notch still have issuesSo everyone that’s having issues, does your screen protector cover the whole screen even the notch? Because my screen protector doesn’t and I’m not having this issue.
You my friend is a life saver.. I’ve already had this setting enabled but never thought to use it this way.A temporary work around that bypasses Lock Screen swipe
Settings > Accessibility > Back Tap > toggle on > set to home
From Lock Screen double tap the back of your case, and it will take you directly to Home Screen with no swiping involved.
If you are prompted with the passcode screen, simply double tap the back of your case and your passcode will automatically be inputted and send you to Home Screen.
With this work around, you shouldn’t need to use tin foil on the side of the case or touch the camera circles.
By not perfect, does that mean it still happens but not as much?It was working at all for me on 14.2. 14.3 is way better but not perfect
No. That is a waste of time. Call back the advisor and tell him or her, that you tried resetting all settings as well as doing Recovery Mode on the phone and nothing worked.Does rest seating the phone using iTunes and a computer fix the issue as I have been advised to do this by apple Senior Adviser?
To be fair, I was trying to figure it out late last night and couldn’t seem to get it right. This morning, I looked on Reddit and found someone had beat me to the punch as it were, and that is when I posted this procedure here. You my friend is a life saver.. I’ve already had this setting enabled but never thought to use it this way.
Thanks RobertNo. That is a waste of time. Call back the advisor and tell him or her, that you tried resetting all settings as well as doing Recovery Mode on the phone and nothing worked.
By the way, I tried those things I said to tell the advisor, who is just following protocol, before escalating the case to an engineer. Thanks Robert
Thanks. Done. Hope they acknowledge soon.So essentially everyone report to Apple with the official feedback form: https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
I was using the back tap method but found it annoying and not natural. I prefer the 14.3 update. That works for unlocking 99.9 percent of the timeBy not perfect, does that mean it still happens but not as much?
The back tap method works every time. How does the beta compare?
People with tiny hands and fingers seem to notice it less, but people with "man hands" suffer more 😄many no have mini problem...some have problem = screen defect lot factory...not software...want fix problem screen? = return mini or can waiting for apple fix @ shop...kaa![]()
Initially experienced the lock screen touch problem yesterday too. Fitted a Belkin Ultraglass screen Protector to my 12 Mini straight out the box (before setting up the phone) & also put the phone in my new Apple leather case. Immediately noticed the delayed response when swiping up on the Lock Screen. Thought the problem might be related to the fact that my leather case is not 'open' at the rear of the case (unlike the 'open' case I had been using on my X). I was disappointed, but a few hours later, got round to updating from iOS 14.1 to 14.2 & found that once updated to 14.2, the problem was resolved (now able to successfully swipe up, first time, each time).
When it hinders things like answering the phone from the lock screen, that’s kind of a big deal and some people can’t have that happen on their phone. As annoying as it is, returning the device and going for another iPhone model seems extreme, especially when everything else is near on perfect. Just remove the screen protector for the time being?!
Just wait and see what happens in the next week, I’m sure Apple will acknowledge and fix the issue.
So many others have said 14.3 didn’t help. You’ve even backed off of this now saying it’s almost perfect. I would love to know that you’re right, but I can’t help but worry there’s a little placebo effect going on.Update. The issue seems to have gone away completely with iOS 14.3. Only had the lock screen stick once. But that was when the phone turned on from updating
Yes, just noticed that after answering a call the keypad is useless just like the rest of the lock screenWhen it hinders things like answering the phone from the lock screen, that’s kind of a big deal and some people can’t have that happen on their phone.
