Look, everything works fine When i hold the phone in my hand, but if i put it on the table and try to touch with flat part od my thumb, it still doesnt work wellYour video makes it look like the problem isn't fixed at all for you to be honest.
If I lay my phone on a flat surface (don't touch it) and scroll with my thumb, all scrolling is fine for me. This is after 14.2.1 and both a screen protector and case on, so I think maybe you have something else going on.The problem is only partially resolved. The screen still has poor sensitivity when we dont hold it in our hand and touch only the screen with our thumb.
Right, that was the problem from the start. I'm sorry the update didn't work for you. I'd definitely be return/exchanging it if that's the case.Look, everything works fine When i hold the phone in my hand, but if i put it on the table and try to touch with flat part od my thumb, it still doesnt work well
for most people, when they held their phone it worked fine pre update. Maybe ur update got corrupted or something?Look, everything works fine When i hold the phone in my hand, but if i put it on the table and try to touch with flat part od my thumb, it still doesnt work well
I can't replicate this. I'm using the largest area of my thumb (I'm a male) and it still works fine.I can replicate what @adamfrompoland is saying if I use the large surface area of my thumb not the tip. This is with the new update. Elsewhere, Lock Screen etc is improved. I’m kinda viewing it as related to to the smaller screen size. (The same test works on a 11 pro max )
My phone works exactly as yours in your video, Lock Screen works perfectly fine, only thing I’ve noticed is if the phone is laying on something and I use a huge touch with my thumb it doesn’t scroll. This isn’t a big deal for me because if I’m using the phone while it’s not in my hand I’m pretty much always using a fingertip. I think most people won’t notice it for this reason.Yasss thanks for showing this
(Also this means Apple will probably issue an update to fix things tonight or tomorrow.)![]()
This issue happens pre update as I’m still waiting for my phone to download the update. Who the hell uses the phone like that anyways lmaoAfter further testing, I can also replicate @adamfrompoland's issue. But only if the phone is laying flat and using the widest part of my thumb flat against the screen. TBH, I never use that much surface area to touch my phone. The issue isn't prevalent if I use my "normal" amount of touch on the screen, but I could see this being annoying in certain situations.
Yes, if I make an effort to use my entire thumb then scrolling doesn't work, but this is not a scenario I would call a big issue compared to the previous one. Maybe they need to further calibrate it. Don't know how many will be affected by this? After further testing, I can also replicate @adamfrompoland's issue. Just tried this and I can’t make it not work, still scrolls for me just fine with the new iOS update applied, with a pretty thick edge to edge glass screen protector and case on a phone that totally had the issue prior to the update
