I will do my part for the environment by not ordering this disappointment.
You can buy a USB-C adapter in 2020, and in the following years, you don't have to buy a new one. So YES, there is environmental benefit (assuming iPhone never ships with a USB-C adapter again). I hope all the other manufacturers like Samsung do the same.
Wireless suck still. Still slower vs wired, chances of not placing the phone at the right spot. I still prefer wired over wireless.
I hate everyone who buys the blue one because Apple hates green and everyone who loves green. Lime green.

Welcome to their whole right to repair argument. environment claims are just smoke and mirrors, and people fall for it
They have the fan base to do whatever so they'll use it for their benefits. Unless the fans to speak otherwise, this will continue.
You can just not order it off Amazon if that’s a concern.
I think this is a great move. They said they’ll be able to fit 70% more product on one shipping pallet because of this.
Agreed, not like they are passing the cost cutting to the customers.
The device price stays the same, you just don't get much with it now.

This is a common agenda for some... cripple the experience by blaming it on a greater good. Gas prices, electric prices, cost of living, caps on children ... lack of charging cables or headphones.
Next year... Lisa announces iPhone zero net emissions, you simply hand Apple your credit card and they give you an empty 100% recycled box.
This sounds like profits over experience. There's tons of people who charge their phones by cable and those cables are falling apart. There's tons of people who still use the headphones that came with the iPhone to make calls and listen to music. Bluetooth and Qi isn't anywhere near the quality of a cable for audio or charging speed. This is simply just CHEAP.

So you want me to upgrade my phone to not get headphones, not get a charger, and actually buy more accessories for magsafe. It will do nothing new except for download things slightly faster in very few locations, and take slightly better night photos and videos.

For both margins and the environment, the smaller boxes are a big plus.

The price doesn't include what you need to power it if you're a new iPhone user.
Well, you're not forced to buy any of that.
Specially this iPhone is the most underwhelming since a few years. I don't see why people with even an iPhone X would have a reason to upgrade.
They say part of the reason for the change is that so many people already have power adapters, yet they are changing which power adapter would be needed, making that part of the reasoning pretty much non-applicable.
And there's that, all these supposed savings, just not for the consumer.
Ok, I’m all for helping the environment, so with that said, isn’t Apple just making more money when people need a new charging brick? it’s not like the price of the phone went down to reflect the charging brick difference? This doesn’t make a huge amount of sense to me. Is this a great (and good) way to make more money?
