My 12 mini just went at 91%. Got it in Late November. Was at 94% on June 1st, 93% June 7th and 92% on June 11th.

My country’s authorised service provider said that I have to restore my phone and set it up as new in order to be able assist me further, which I find very annoying.

My wife is on month 4 with her 12. Charges at night with MadSafe on her night stand. Finishes each day around 40%.

Battery still reads 100%. Running 14.6

Same think Apple Support told me to do when my battery health reached 97%. Then after a week dropped a 1% again and Apple Support told me to go to the local Apple Store. They verified the Phone and told me all was ok. But the battery was draining very quickly especially after the 50% of charge. Then Apple Service arranged to pickup my phone for a battery replacement.
But once in Czech Republic, the Apple official service for EU verified the phone and did not replace the battery.
They shipped back to me with a paper telling me again to do a full restore (when I shipped the phone I already erased it).
But yesterday the iPhone 12 Pro dropped to 95% and I have to charge it around 3 pm to reach the evening!!!!
Very frustrated! Apple is disappointing these days.

Apple support yesterday, after my 10th call, told me to wait the release of 14.7 and see if in a week after the release the phone's battery will perform better.................. if not we will see what to do.........

So am I, after 200 charge cycle it's now down to 89%

I feel that the battery in 12 PM/Pro is degrading far faster than previous generations
As of this morning I have 65 charge cycles with 86% battery health. Pathetic.

This is also pathetic! If you have Apple Care, what is the point of having AC if Apple refuses to do anything about it. Plus communication is a big problem Support says one thing, you ship it out...someone else sends it back did nothing - only telling you to "restore the phone." (The same a few pages ago, Support arranged a forum member free replacement from the Apple Store, the store had no clue and was going to charge. He saved the Support text/chat)

I got the same nonsense over the phone w/ support..."battery is fine, restore the phone." Seems like this is the only solution right now...again, until the higher ups with power formally address there is a widespread problem. Until then, well..deal with it.

I’ve been using a 5W charger since launch day and am at 97%. I’m also still on the iOS version it shipped with 14.1.
I stopped using MagSafe, fast charger...but the damage was done I suppose. The battery was still draining with the old school 5w wired charge.

Now, as sad as this is...I'm back to using MagSafe hoping the % hits 80% faster to get the battery replaced.

AND when that happens, I won't go back to this MagSafe silliness.

I really think it's a batch of bad batteries. I do not use Magsafe and the wife plugs hers in every night on her old iPhone 8+ cord and plug. We charge differently and are both at 91%. At the current rate, Apple will be replacing both batteries by January. We both have AC+.

the reason I don't think its just a "batch of bad batteries" is that we did a poll in this thread or maybe other on MacRumors and we proved there were several battery manufacturers the Apple sourced batteries from for the iPhone 12 Pro, so its unlikely that its a faulty battery and more likely iOS itself draining these batteries or how the battery life is being reported.....

Or Apple lowered their standards and specs on the new batteries?

well look we know the battery size/capacity is lower on the 12 than previous models........ not rocket science to expect that to have an impact as it will.

I think if all batteries were made by the same manufacturer and a batch had an issue then that's quite easy to prove and determine the issue of the battery wear/drain. however as there are several battery manufacturers involved and people reporting excessive battery wear across all of those battery manufacturers, well it leaves iOS as the main culprit.

I still feel Apple should take responsibility. We will know in a few months if this is a big issue (I suspect it is, and no doubt our friends in the USA will bring a class action) but looking at the official Apple forums it seems a widespread issue.

I hope you are right. I have 2 grand in these 2 phones and planned on keeping them for at least 2 years. Last set went 3 years and the batteries were not lower than around 85% We'll hit that before Christmas at this rate.

Seems like there is a lot of variation with the battery degradion speed.
Guess I got lucky then that my launchday 12PM is still sitting at 103% after nearly 180 cycles.
I always charged with the original 20W power supply btw.

But this time there was not a power supply in the package...
Moreover I think it could be something related to Air Tag and Find My Network, just a suspect.
Because on the official Apple forum an user pointed me into the direction of disabling Find My Network.

I WISH I took a reading of my 12 Pro Max when I first got it in late Nov. The first Coconut battery reading I took on the 12PM was late Feb. showing "94%" (Phone was reading 99%).

But 3 months and 1 day after getting the phone...a 6% drop. I actually do wonder if I even had 100% at all?? I know some batteries are 100+%, some read 100 or even a little bit lower at launch.

My XS Max had 104.5% month after launch, also my 8 Plus had 102.2% on readings months after I got that. I don't know. But I DO think there are a lot of junk batteries out there in the 12's. A few iOS updates, including 14.6 has not helped at all!

Yay, first % drop 😀
Release day 12PM, today 99% (by system counter), 98% via 3uTools (122 cycles).

First 3 months every night on Samsung wireless charger, last 3 months every night on MagSafe + 20W original charger.
Usually 60-70% of battery usage per day, 1-3h of games. Optimized charging turned on.
Today another 1% drop — 96% now (same 96% via 3uTools, 144 cycles). 1 month -4%.

Launch 12 Pro
iOS Battery Settings - Capacity 93%
coconutBattery - Capacity 91% - 73 Cycles.

Apple support can only do so much based on what the diagnostics show which is exactly what we all see now. They can't issue repairs unless the battery capacity shows below 80% per iPhone Battery and Performance article. The best we can do is at least report the issue to support so they can document the issue. This way when Apple engineering runs a report of frequently reported issues they can then work on fixes. Don't expect Apple to repair/replace your device when reporting as they will deny it due to policy which is totally understandable.

The agent I spoke with happened to be a senior advisor which was very friendly said they were even having the same issue with their own devices. Nothing more they can do besides making a report for us and waiting to see if a software update will come out for the issue or Apple engineering acknowledges the issue.

My launch 12 pro has dropped from 99% in January to 91%. I contacted apple support regarding the issue and they just provided me with a bunch of information regarding battery degradation and how to properly store and charge the phone. They told me not to worry about it and quickly brushed me off.
iPhone 12 Pro Max- battery health down 1-2% every week, now only 94%- I never had similar issue with any iPhone before- usually as I'm buying new one every year - after a year battery health was no less than 98%- on this newest phone and iOS 14.6 as for today- 94%.....

I must be in the minority who doesn’t want to resort to a repair, and trying to avoid it at all cost.
No. I really don't wish to bring my phone into a store for a 2-4 day repair. (No idea, what is the turnaround time for iPhone battery replacement?) BUT I will. I'll just wipe out the phone and let Apple replace the junk battery.

My slight fear is when my battery hits 80%, I think many other 12's will also. The turnaround time to replace the battery may reach 5+ days. 🤷🏻‍♂️

So I posted on TUESDAY a picture of my Battery maximum being at 97%. And I check it today and it’s at 96%. I’ve called apple and went to the apple store and they ran “diagnostics” and they said it’s Normal.
but from Monday to today it dropped a percent. And you’re telling me nothing is wrong? Cmon!!
BTW this phone was purchased late November. /rant.
