I’m not understanding why Apple won’t let people replace their battery if the are willing to pay for the service. WTH!
They will replace it. I got mine replaced at my local Apple store last week. I payed $69 but they didn’t question it and changed it.

OFF TOPIC a bit: I don't understand why on the iPad Pro Coconut reports 100% but in the "history viewer it shows 102,6% 🤔

Got my phone back from apple. They had it for more than a week. All they did was diagnostics on it. They said they couldn’t replicate the problem. I asked them to replace the battery and wanted to pay for it but they didn’t do it. Guess Ill wait until my battery is at 79% and then get it replaced under warranty.
That is just infuriating and it's not my phone. You were willing to pay for the battery, no need to "replicate the problem." (the problem is clear IMO, 90% after 8 months affecting daily battery life/drain! There's the problem)

Just put the new battery in!

This is all frustrating for many of us, the phone is not close to optimal, for many it hasn't been for months. Apple Support personally has been useless. Even promise of a new battery - paid or not - is not a given.

This happens a lot, remember not all batteries are made the same, the battery capacity written on it is simply the average design capacity however some devices come with slightly more than that (and some slightly less). For example my iPhone (11 Pro Max) is meant to have a 3969mAh Avery design capacity battery but in reality it came with over 4100mAh in capacity when looking at the Maximum Capacity in the logs. This is what also creates the difference in people’s battery health numbers, some drop faster than others as the actual capacity of each phone differs slightly.

Many folks will come here and say “my battery stayed at 100% for X amount of months” in reality what happened is that their phones actual battery capacity was maybe 102% and is still within that 100-102% range hence it still reflects 100% for a longer period, the battery health indicator only begins to show a drop once the battery drops from the average design capacity for that model.

This is why there will always be inconsistencies in different peoples devices and how their battery health drops. This is also why I say people must not put too much stock in the battery health numbers as they don’t tell the full story at all. The best way to tell what’s happening is how long your battery lasts in your daily usage as the health numbers are just not accurate.

At this point, I may just schedule a Genius Appt. and get mine replaced before Sept. - suck up the $69 bucks (if I can that is, I assume it depends on employee, store...who knows). *Thanks Apple Care. smh.

What I do know right now is this phone and the battery drain - due to it's now junk health (Which is STILL at 84%...hasn't dropped since updating to 14.7 🤷🏻‍♂️) has becoming beyond frustrating.

I’m keeping mine this year so I just got it changed. Is what it is at this point.

Im not sure what apple did to my phone for the 8 days but the battery seems to be better. Standby time is similiar to what it was months ago. Also when the battery drops now it just drops by 1% at a time. Before it was dropping by 3%, 5% or 7% at a time. I havnet found my phone getting hot for no reason even was I was just using safari and its really hot here now. They said all they did was run a diagnotic on it, but its behaving differently, more like a phone thats only 9 months old. The battery health still shows 90% though, but it hasnt dropped in the last 2 weeks so far.

Woke up this morning to a severely depleted battery. Usually only drops 1-2% overnight off the charger. I checked the battery usage and it showed the "Find My" app used 27% background activity!:oops: What the heck! I do have AirTags and wondering if that's the issue. Anyone seeing this?

I constantly left mine off the charger overnight (Back in Feb. I had a 100% drop...no one, not even Apple knew why.)

Anyway, YES...I've had inconsistent drain overnight off the charger, from 1-3% to 15-20%. The my "Find My.." always seems to run constantly runs at various battery usage %. *I have 1 AirTag also.

Now with such a poor battery, battery health, I leave it on the charger overnight now. If the battery degrades faster. Well, that's fine with me. At this point it doesn't really matter to be honest.

I'm at the point, frustration level where I kind of wish the battery would swell a bit so Apple HAS TO replace this moronic flawed battery.

I think that is what I am going to do also. If it cost me 69 bucks oh well not worth the torture.

I don't seem to have this issue. iPhone 12 Pro Max. AdGuard Pro installed.

iPhone 12 Pro Max.
93%
57 Charge Cycles.

My 11 Pro Max and XR batteries were still at 100% after a year. These 12 batteries don't seem to last as long as previous ones did.

Pretty horrible. Mine is still 105% at 178 charge cycles

Seems like some of you are getting much better batteries than others of us. I’ve never seen battery health drop so fast on an iPhone as my iPhone 12 Pro. Definitely a lottery.

Genius Bar booked for Tuesday PM, that was hard work just to get that appointment. My release day 12 Pro is at 93% so I want it looked at. The remote support guys said its working fine, as you would expect them to say, but they did allow me to book an in-store appointment so lets see what happens.

Good luck. They told that my Apple Watch and iPhone 12 Pro are both fine, even though both have deteriorated way faster than any Apple devices I've ever owned.

My launch iPhone 12 currently sits at 91% and battery life dropped significantly. My previous iPhones were 99-100% after a year. If anything I believe the battery life started taking real nose dive after ATT upgraded us for free to 5G. I live in Pocono Mountains and reception in some areas is terrible so phone constantly jumps between 4G, LTE and 5G. I am using iPad mini charger, but that should not have negative impact since previous iPhones were charged using it as well without ill effect on their battery.
