Update:

I called Apple about my 12 pro with 89% battery life and got my call escalated to a senior tech. They said that shouldn’t be the case with a phone that isn’t a year old and booked an appointment at the apple store for me. Hopefully they replace my battery or give me an express replacement.

They do that all the time. I hope they’ll help you, but I bet the “Genius” will tell you it’s normal. They just can’t/won’t make the decision over the phone.

I just called about popping on my AirPods Pro, and they made me book a store appointment, too.

I HOPE you get this fixed! Save that Support chat - if you can

Support can book an appointment to a store...ok fine. (So can I, and others that have a store not too far away). The employees at the physical store - for me at least - do their own thing, take the phone...go in the backroom...run a test. Come back and say "everything is fine." Now you have to explain the situation - again...escalate it perhaps to the store manager. Maybe...just maybe...they will give in.

The manager (asst. mgr) at the closest store, at the time back in June would not budge. He came off like a power hungry jacka--

I'm going to try again...however try another store. It's not 2 miles from me though...I'd have to head to another bigger, I always though better location 15 miles away.

The process of this issue it absolutely exhausting and infuriating

Now I HOPE this is not the case for you.

I've got a 12P that I got 10/31 and it's down to 87%. My wife has a 12P that she got about 11/20 and it's at 94%. I'm strongly considering using either the AT&T or Apple trade in deals right now to get the 13P and hope that the allegations of longer battery life are true (I never felt the 12P battery life was particularly good even at the beginning, and I am not what most would consider a "heavy" user).

I considered seeing if Apple would replace the battery, but I suspect they would claim it's normal and it wouldn't be worth the hassle to get it sorted out.

I had an issue with my Airpods Pro and I had bought the 29 dollar Apple Care+, they told me to bring them in to an Apple Store and I told them I didn't have time for that.

They sent me out a new pair overnight express replacement. Sent my old ones back.

I didn’t buy AppleCare, but they are less than one year old. I suppose they won’t do that for me because I didn’t pay the $29 for AppleCare+.

My wife and I are keeping our 12 Pro Maxes so I'll keep y'all updated on our phones. Mine at 103.9% and my wife's is rapidly dropping 93%. (Both under AppleCare+).

Launch day iPhone 12 Pro Max w/ 256gb. I've been taking screenshots as a sort of log since August when I saw I was at 90%. Screengrabs I have:

Aug 11: 90%
Aug 12: 89%
Sep 14: 86%
Sep 15: 85%

Majority of this drain has been occurring while running the iOS15 Beta profile.

So if I got this right...... You want to get rid of $1000+ device with a dodgy battery to drop another $1000+ on a barely better device with potentially a slightly better battery? Man apple got you addicted like a crack head to Crystal meth.
I get it, and I admit I am flip flopping this dumb decision in my head.

Get rid of this mess for $790 trade in towards the upgrade...a better, HOPEFULLY better quality battery, ok...slight improvements? (a month, 6, 7 weeks from now this 12 PM will drop in trade in)

I had to hard reboot earlier today, the camera app was 1/2 open - partial camera app, partial home screen. What the... I've just become completely frustrated with this phone is general.

Again, my emotions are controlling this decision, flawed or not.

Congrats! You found a Genius in a good mood. I’d try to get a replacement for mine, too, but it is just too annoying and stressful. I hate dealing with the Genius Bar. It’s always been a crap shoot for me. I’m dreading my appointment on Saturday to get my AirPods Pro looked at for the popping sound issue.

I’m keeping mine for another year until they drop to 80% and get Apple to replace it under AppleCare+ before the 2 year mark is up.

Update to https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-12-pro-battery-health.2285325/page-26

Got my iPhone X back from service. Apparently there was some issue with the camera as well as the battery swelling. They appear to have replaced the phone for $79 as I purchased the original around release.

Had my 12 PM since launch and is at 97%, pretty heavy usage and I like to charge with the mag safe charger most the time which makes the phone so so so hot that it even disables flash sometimes. But I do not "over charge" and always take it off before I reach 90% as often as I can as well.

Trying Apple Support one final time. (going on 100 minutes total right now, rep has been "checking this for me" for the past 50 min. Asked for a supervisor)

Like a bad rerun, "Everything is normal" - But let me check the link sent...again how to maintain my battery for the 1000th time. Most frustrating experience ever!

I really wish I could get iMessages and Facetime Audio calls from Apple Support.

Which country are you at that you get support this way?

I'm in the U.S. 11:27pm now, I'm still waiting (chat started at 9pm)...if this person is still even there with the "template" responses. Literally 1 hour+ of dead silence, watching the Phillies game

About to end this waste of time. Clear to me this person won't do jack squat

Most days this would throw me into a pretty bad anger-rage fit, but I kind of of mentally expected this, getting myself, my heart worked up is not even worth it.

10, 15 years ago, the support, customer service used to be great. (For some here, it has...just have to get the right person I guess. I tend to constantly get useless people when it comes to this situation)

Personally, Apple support has been utterly useless for a long time, especially for this device. Sadly, this experience, this phone has left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Unfortunately when it comes to battery replacements, they play all the games you can ever imagine and definitely not the Apple support you would expect.

Check out my experience with an iPad. Service center shipped this product back telling me everything is good. Unbelievable..
