This camera is insane 😍 no edit and directly from phone.

This 12 pro max feels a lot smoother than my 12 pro max. Might be placebo and my brain trying to convince me that I didn’t just throw my money away but man i dig it.

maybe not huge fans of dxomark but they just posted the 12 pro max review

And I would agree. It's great (but) it is slightly edged by Huawei. what makes it fascinating is that the iPhone is still 12 mp without the periscope zoom.

In my personal experience I would say the iPhone 12 pro max is a great big phone with a lot more camera. I took some test photos and the quality is impressive.

Upgraded from the X to the 12 Pro. After 2+ weeks of use it’s a solid ‘meh’ from me. Launching apps and Face ID is much faster, but beyond the case redesign I don’t feel the upgrade is that big of a deal. Cameras are slightly better, but hardly a night and day difference. Suppose I’m getting jaded from large upgrades of years past, but after 3 years with the X I figured it was time for a change. The 12 Pro should be good for another few years, but until there’s a significant sensor improvement with the cameras (sort of like with 12 PM), I’ll be holding off. Crazy going from annual upgrades to no longer feeling its necessary.

I’ve been putting a custom camera skin on the back of my phones since the 4. Figured I’d keep it going

Exactly that! Upgraded from XR and there's almost no difference. Camera is just slightly better, same bad performance in the dark. The only addition is wide and zoom cameras. Wide has a very low quality. All cameras are still very noisy. Don't get me wrong, the portrait mode is kind of nice for objects and people, but there's sooooo much noise.

The new HDR mode gives a little improvement in the light (while having a lot of weird side effects).

Maybe wait another 2 generations?

UPDATE: Forgot to add that lens flares are now everywhere.

What is it with the front camera and portrait mode? It feels like it is animated. Seems not real.

Definitely impressed with the new iPhone 12 pro max...the camera is great.

The phone is silky smooth and the extra 0.2" is most welcomed.

The process power really does hold well for what the M1 laptops might offer (my eye is certainly on the 16" pro)

5 reasons to upgrade to the iPhone 12 Pro Max

Same bad performance in the dark? Bro are you tripping? The pro has taken literally the best photos I’ve ever seen in the dark. Like stuff not done before. We have different phones or something.

The screen on my Pro Max 12 seems significantly improved from the XS Max screen I am coming from. I don't know what it is, but staring at my XS Max screen seemed to cause my eyes to sting and feel strained compared to the Pro Max 12. I'm loving the battery life and how smooth everything runs.

Not a first impression but an impression on the glass of this phone. I developed a deep scratch on the screen and I seriously cannot think of how it might’ve happened... other than when my phone fell maybe about an inch or so off the bed onto hardwood floor. But seeing the scratch tests my floor shouldn’t haven been able to do that so I’m baffled that it in fact scratched the screen that deeply.

Get a screen protector and if you have AppleCare +, send it in to replace the screen.

I have AppleCare. It’s just crazy how they said this phone is less prone to scratched than other iPhones but my phone takes a fall from about a foot high and has one of the deepest scratches I’ve seen on any phone.

No two falls are the same. Apple claiming that the phone is "less prone to scratches" is not the same as claiming that it won't get scratched if dropped from a height of one foot.

Not even going by Apple standards here. Going by the scratch tests on YouTube that use several hard materials and rub as hard as they can on screen. But it is what it is. I’ll have to live with it. Again just though it was funny that my X withstood harder falls and from higher distances and never developed as scratch as deep as this phone.

To be fair, the big advancement on these screens is shatter resistance, not scratch resistance.

Not judging, but, you know, a $3 investment in a virtually invisible tempered glass screen protector could keep things from getting worse. ;)
