You won’t regret getting the 12PM.
If I can get over the size I will keep it, 100%. I’ve already committed to keeping a pro version as the xr has gone to music magpie so for £4/month more the better camera and battery should sway me, depending on the size!

Love the 12 pro but the battery is absolutely shocking; full charge at 6am today and now 3:10pm down to 33%, really awful. Ordered the 12pm to see if the extra battery, better camera offsets the extra size. I love the 12p but can't get on board with this battery life - if it is this bad at 2 weeks old, what will it be like after a year?!
As someone who’s had the 12 Pro and now the 12pm the battery life is almost night and day. I prefer the size of the regular Pro but the battery life on the Max makes it worth it.

This is what I’m thinking. 6.5 hrs today for 94%. Pathetic.
How long does the PM give for 90-95%?

It will definitely come down to battery v size.

My 12 battery life... after 7 SoT, 30% left

Not reach under 10% battery before sleep yet

Have to agree with this completely. I had the 12 Pro and it would go below 20% every single day so I had to charge it during the day. Returned that and go the 12 Pro Max and it’s amazing.
Heavy usage and still have 30-40% minimum left for 7 hour screen on.

iPhone 12 Pro camera is just a little bit better than my old iPhone XR. Maybe less camera blur, but almost same amount of noise on night pictures. The only thing which is really better are the contrast and color reproduction. So it's still not ready for the monitor or even photo frame. It looks better only on the iPhone screen.

My 10 year old cheapest camera takes much better pictures. I expected better performance from Apple especially for such a price.

It's no surprise, the sensor is too small and probably Apple is cutting costs and not using state-of-the-art hardware anymore.
My oldest daughter just upgraded from an Xr to the 12 Pro and has observed a bit more lens flare (little green dots) and she sometimes gets frustrated with night mode working too slowly to get a precisely timed shot. She’s used to the camera taking the picture instantly even if it’s too dark.

But I do know that she’s getting low light shots she couldn’t get before and she’s pretty happy about that. We look at our photos on our Samsung tv and they look better to us than the output from her Xr.

If you don’t think there’s sufficient improvement over the Xr, I suppose I could understand your point of view. I wish you more satisfaction on your next upgrade. There are already iPhone 13 rumors out and they look pretty exciting. Meanwhile the Xr is a very nice iPhone. I was fond of mine. We kept our daughter’s Xr in case the 12 Pro didn’t work out for her.

But she feels differently from you, as the overall phone is faster and she does not want to go back to her Xr.

No wonder that reception and speeds are much better

Snapdragon X55 5G modem running in all iPhone 12 models costs an estimated $90 per unit. This makes the component more expensive than the OLED panel sourced from Samsung, costing Apple $70 per panel. In fact, the latest estimates reveal that the company’s A14 Bionic costs less than half the price of the Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which is $40 per unit.

The camera in this thing is nuts:

-the picture you see is virtually in the dark
-my car headlights were off
-I was in the farthest spot of a dark parking lot of a grocery store
-I was filming the streetlights in the fog - it really was a lot darker than it appears.
-I love this thing for moody photography

I should mention: I own a DSLR but to do a shot like this I'd have to have the camera, the tripod, the remote shutter release, the right lens, etc.

Sometimes the new iPhone feels too light to be real. Changing from iPhone 8 to 12 and always thought it is a prototype. :p

Is that the 12 pro or 12 pro max?

I canceled my blue pro for graphite lol now not so sure
IMO, the cameras should all be the graphite color. The three lenses look silly enough as is and the color separation enhances it whereas the graphite makes it look less busy.

What do you think is silly about the three lenses? It’s always baffled me when people criticise them. Think they look fine, personally.

I’m not saying it’s silly, but it looks a bit much on a phone, so with the graphite it looks more muted like a single lens.

Really in love with the night mode.

I hope this COVID situation finish, I need to travel with my iPhone 12 pro and Mavic 2 pro cameras combo!!!

I just picked up my iPhone 12 Pro Pacific Blue 128GB from the Apple Store in Sydney Australia.

First impressions:
  • Coming from an iPhone 11 Pro Max and I am already loving the lighter weight
  • The pacific blue colour is beautiful. It's a cross between midnight green and space grey with a touch of teal. You get different colours in different lighting conditions
  • The squared off edges make it really nice to hold and it's less slippery compared to the curved edges of the last few years
  • Can’t tell the difference in the photos being taken compared to the 11PM. But then I’m no photographer
  • Match made in heaven when paired with the plum silicone case, but it doesn’t magically attach easily like they showed in the event.
  • MagSafe works as intended and the magnet attachment is quite strong I’ll watch out for the indent or ring on the back of the case shown in another thread
  • Still setting up my eSIM with my provider so will report back with 5G speeds once that’s done
Happy to take questions! Will try and answer when I’m on breaks from working from home :D

Some photos - Includes size comparison between the 11 Pro Max in a forest green leather case.

Very glad you're happy with it. I've had mine since Dec 1st and there is both good and bad. I have 5G turned off and with regular use I'm getting 4 full days of battery use. The larger display is helping me read it better without reading glasses. The bad is that from time to time it acts like it is getting updates, and I get the Apple logo with the white progress bar like it is being pushed updates. The really annoying issue is texts/messages. When I select messages and start typing, nothing, then my typing starts to appears and finally catches up. Mine is the dark gray with the stainless outer edge, and one thing I miss is the red color cue for when I'm in silent mode. As a phone it functions fine, and while on long calls I don't get the heat I did with my 10S or my 11. I don't game, and seldom stream media content, both of which positively contribute to my amazing battery life.

I’m extremely pleased with my battery life. Took mine off at 100% @6:08am it’s now 10:15pm an I’m at 47%
