I was thinking about going to the regular size from a max size. The photos have convinced me to stay with the max size. Thanks.

Some comparison shots of 11PM vs 12P to show screen size and amount of info shown in safari.

Identical settings but the 12P looks noticeably warmer with a yellow tint

you got a defective phone brother. Exchange it.

this happens every year since the 3G. Check my post history, i battle this every year.

the tint you see on the 12 is not correct. It is not more accurate. It is a defect.

Not all 12s will have the same tint. You got one of the bad ones. QA standards are relaxed at launch. This has been proven each year.

Return that phone for a replacement. I promise that in 2 weeks, not a single apple display phone will match that tint. 100 MF percent my dude. It’ll match last year. Its only if you take action that apple will stop this malicious process of dumping reject yellow screens on the masses.

Are you the legendary guy from this forum who exchanged his device 20 times because of this yellowing?

Theres many guys like that. And there should be more. Dont let Apple get away with another year of screwing the customer!
Ok but you just pointed out the solution to this issue. Don’t buy the first 1-2 months. Wait until December to buy your device. Right? Let this serve as a cautionary tale for all. By the way, if I was one of the managers there and you came back after the 5th time I would tell you to go buy a Samsung and never come back here again 😑

That is a good solution. Another is to compare to Apple display phones. If it doesnt match, you must have a bad phone right? Do you disagree? Apples display phones must represent what they think represents the product right?

My wife’s silver and my pacific blue arrived an hour ago. Haven’t opened them yet. Will see if it has this yellow screen issue when we get them up and running.

My sister got her white iPhone 12 today, holding it next to my xs max, damn the 12 is light af, felt like it was going to snap in half just from me holding it (in a good way) apple has done a amazing job with the iPhone 12 bezels they are so much smaller than previous models, felt really comfortable to hold, when I had the phone in my pocket felt like it wasn’t there, honestly the screen isn’t that much smaller than my xs max. Camera was on point.

her screen looked white instead of yellow.

Can’t wait to get mine now.

I'm so annoyed that Apple finally went to the flat sides I liked from the iPhone 5... THE YEAR AFTER I UPGRADED TO AN iPhone 11 PM.
Haha, I feel the same about iPad Air. Upgraded my very old iPad last year to iPad Air 3... old design, but bigger screen and Pencil 1 support... and this year they have this gorgeous iPad Air 4 with exactly what I wanted my dream iPad to be.

I just picked up my iPhone 12 Pro Pacific Blue 128GB from the Apple Store in Sydney Australia.

First impressions:
  • Coming from an iPhone 11 Pro Max and I am already loving the lighter weight
  • The pacific blue colour is beautiful. It's a cross between midnight green and space grey with a touch of teal. You get different colours in different lighting conditions
  • The squared off edges make it really nice to hold and it's less slippery compared to the curved edges of the last few years
  • Can’t tell the difference in the photos being taken compared to the 11PM. But then I’m no photographer
  • Match made in heaven when paired with the plum silicone case, but it doesn’t magically attach easily like they showed in the event.
  • MagSafe works as intended and the magnet attachment is quite strong I’ll watch out for the indent or ring on the back of the case shown in another thread
  • Still setting up my eSIM with my provider so will report back with 5G speeds once that’s done
Happy to take questions! Will try and answer when I’m on breaks from working from home :D

Some photos - Includes size comparison between the 11 Pro Max in a forest green leather case.

Well, you shouldnt take it lightly. I have replaced several iPad screens, both 10.5 pro and 12.9 pros, due to uneven color tint.

In the end I got a good enough unit, but I was truley amazed over Apples lack of quality control.

I had always associated Apple with high and thight quality standards but not anymore.

I still buy their products, as they are the best, but you have to properly check them for things like this. They gamble that the average consumer doesnt care about screen uniformity, and that we will keep buying their products. Which is true.

There you go. Yellow tint in the beginning until the display over time “settles”. I think. Let’s get some display pics of people who have owned their 11PM for a year
Not always the case. My Space Gray 11PM ha been on the yellow/faded side since day ken without any improvement. Still hate it and it’s more evident when switching between my iPad and iPhone. I just don’t understand how there can be so much variance in these displays!

I would have no idea on the variance of the displays. For the most part I don’t get that detailed when I look at iPad or iPhone displays. And I would only have guesses why it is what it is. They’re made In different countries by workers paid pennies on the dollar. Quality control could suffer. It’s like an American car made in Mexico. Sometimes they don’t do all their checks

Nice!

Does the bottom lip of the case (since it's now closed at the bottom) get in the way when swiping up to go the home screen/app switcher, or particularly when swiping down for reachability?

Also, any noticeable differences regarding Face ID? E.g. works when the phone is flat on a table, with a face mask or something else?

Enjoy it! :)

The bottom lip really annoys me, my thumb hits it every time I swipe up.
I will hade to cut it away, this is not going to work for me.

I bought my grandson an Air 3 just a week before they announced the 4 (although obviously there were rumors). The trouble is, he is autistic, had to have a replacement, and I couldn’t wait. That Air 3 is a really nice device though. I have a pro, so I don’t need it, but I’ve been looking for an excuse to have to buy one. ;-p

Never heard of those! They look nice. I was waiting for the BELKIN one. Do you think these are better?
I mean, Belkin's are built for MagSafe specifically, but I've got a ProClip mount on my Audi's dashboard - so I'm sticking with the Scosche magnet for now.

Its better with a case. More grippy, the resell value increases tremendously and it keeps the SS sides from gettging fingerprints on them. The sides actually looks redicilous ugly just minutes of holding the phone, due to the stainless steel sides picking up every molecule of fat from your fingers. Even washing the hands every five minutes doesnt help.

Shiny stainless steel was a design mistake, and it can easily be corrected with a case;)
