Sitting down under the 5G UW tower from Verizon around the Baltimore area, those are not the speeds and specs you were looking for...

This is what i got a few days ago in CT on 4G LTE on T-Mobile! Something seems off with Verizon 5G.

I received my iphone pro 12 today in graphite, coming from an iPhone 11 - i must say.... a bit underwhelmed... it is not the same size as the iPhone 11, I guess I thought the screen would be the same size, its longer and more narrow... basically less of any webpage fits into a frame. so i could only imagine what the mini would look like lol!
So my advise is, if you're on the fence for bigger, go bigger for sure. Don't get me wrong, 12 pro is nice, there is just not a huge "wow" factor, for me. Also dont think the small box was a good idea perhaps, almost makes it seem "cheapened" in a way to be honest.

How fast does it charge using last year’s 18w adapter? Heard fast charge only works with 20w

Ok so a few things to unpack. I’m coming from an iPhone 7 and have bought an iPhone 12 pro 256gb graphite.
1. The design is incredible. So beautifully made and the colour is nicer than I could have imagined.
2. it’s super snappy. Not just because it’s new but it’s really quick.
3. The 5G is quick. Like whoa!
4. I thought I’d hate the size but because it’s a bit narrower it’s actually very bearable.
5. it’s a well weighted, balanced weight for the size, so it doesn’t feel as heavy as it is.
6. The camera should be number one. I took a photo outside of my house last NIGHT and the photo had detail almost like day time. It was incredible.
7. My battery is so much nicer than the iPhone 7.
HOWEVER !!!!!!
I’m returning mine ASAP.
my screen is dimmer than my wife’s iPhone X. It’s also yellowish.
I went to the Apple store just now, I asked they put it next to another one and wow mine is definitely yellow. At first the lady thought it was my settings so tried all this stuff (True Tone, brightness etc).. she even asked if I had put a screen protector on!

So swapping mine ASAP. They didn’t have stock and to be honest it’s a pain in the back side having to come back out.

I love the pacific blue color. Unfortunately I can’t test out the 5G since I live in the middle of nowhere. I came from the iPhone 11 Pro Max so the weight/size difference is drastic and it’s great. I can actually fit my phone in my pocket again!

The "gold" iPhone 12 Pro looks like a beige PC that was left in front of a sunny window for a decade. Horrific aesthetic. What were they thinking. Never pre-ordering again.

This is gold? I can’t even tell...

Far cry from the marketing photos. Would look good with a black skin though! I do like the color of the stainless sides.

First impressions:
- love the shape and feel of it without a case, much better than my 11Pro or x
- not much different than the 11Pro, so the wow factor wasn’t as high this year
- smaller bezels (because of flat sides) and slightly bigger screen is great
- disabled 5G because there is absolutely no coverage where I live...

Now I’m deciding what colour leather case to order for it. Between blue or black right now.

Just had a play in a store, nothing at all got me keen to swap my 11 pro for, they were side by side and if you didn't look for the square sides you wouldn't of known.
See what the mini is like.

Is the 12 the first iPhone since the 2007 OG to have a transition from the front glass to the side bezel without either rubber or plastic between the two hard materials?

3G/S had rubber, 4/S had plastic, 6-11 had plastic. Can’t remember is 5 had plastic or rubber between the glass and aluminum.

The transition straight from glass to stainless steel is very nice on the front of the 12 Pro.

8 hours since pick up. Graphite 128GB AT&T but SIM unlocked full retail. Coming from 11 Pro. Update every year, cause I like new tech. Opinion: device is very nice. Love design. A bit larger than I’d like. 5.8” was the sweet spot for me so didn’t have much of a choice. As far as 5G goes, I’d suggest that’s the last reason for upgrading. Upgrade for the design, device speed being super smooth with iOS 14, camera of course, and many other things...just don’t think 5G is there yet. Anyways...just my opinion. The Mini would have been a great choice for me but the battery was too small. Oh yeah, and have tried multiple screen protectors and are all terrible. Using ZAGG invisible glass+ with blue tint now and it’s a fingerprint magnet!
Congratulations on your new iPhone. Hope you will have a happy time using it.

Would you please tell me whether your 12Pro has the grey color mmWave 5G patch on the side? I am wondering whether only the Verizon phones this patch, or all iPhone 12's sold in US have it.

Once you use the 12Pro for a bit longer, it would be great to hear your thoughts on it, especially the cameras are noticeable better than the 11Pro (except of course the ultra-wide night mode which the 11Pro does not have.

I am currently using a iPhone X and want to upgrade. It is possible I might be able to get a 11Pro at a substantial discount so it would be good to know about your user experience. Thanks!

this is the most beautiful iPhone ever. I always loved the iPhone 4 design but this is the zenith for me.
Glad I’m not the only one. The X looked amazing the first time I saw it, and I liked the 6-8 era phones, but this is on another level. I made an audible gasp when I opened my phone in the store. The frosty white back glass/silver frame combo is amazing. This is my favourite iPhone design ever.

My comments are the same as everyone else, really. I love the design visually, slightly bigger screen, comfier to hold, fantastic camera and video performance, etc etc.

The new wallpapers are pretty damn good. I’m glad there’s a day/night version as well.

Where did you find those wallpapers? I don’t see them on mine. Are you on iOS 14.2 beta?

Yes. I had to update my phone to the 14.2 beta so that I could restore my phone. I guess they’re exclusive to the new phones though because they didn’t show on my iPad/iPhone XS

Wow, this is not a flattering photo for the gold model. I feel like they made a bigger deal out of the stainless steel frame this year, which does look great in every model it seems, but that is not what I expected the rear of the gold model to look like.

I have what is probably a stupid question: There is no 5G coverage in my area yet, but I do have a 5G SIM ready for when it is available. Is there any disadvantage to me leaving the network settings in "5G Auto"? (Primarily thinking about battery-life here). Should I swap to 4G or leave it as-is?

My thinking is I don't want my phone constantly or intermittently checking for a 5G signal when it will never find one.
