The 2020 “PRO” should have 120 Hz.

I cant figure out what is going to be "pro" 1 more camera and 1gb more RAM? Since all will be OLED now

Thats not pro that's basic specs. Oh LIDAR wooopppeeeee that no one will ever use as current iPads have shown

I’m talking about buying another 60hz device. To me buying a phone this year for over 1200-1300 which is what the pro max will be with 60hz is getting robbed.

its highway robbery, especially with less in the box PLUS a possible rumored $50 prince increase

I'm quite sure 120hz is done and ready to go. What we're hearing stuff now is probably things that happened in January.

Honestly, apart from 5G what are the new features then? All the rumored features including a smaller notch and a 120Hz display have been debunked. We’ve been only hearing about all the corners Apple had to cut in order to mitigate the cost of 5G (which for most people won’t be relevant till much later). The only “feature” appears to be the larger screen which will of course come with an increased price tag.

Apple isn't going to do 120Hz without variable refresh rate (1-120Hz) which requires an LTPO panel, I guess they could do 60/120Hz but that sounds very unlike Apple's way of doing things. Samsung Display doesn't have enough capacity to produce enough LTPO panels for the iPhone so 120Hz isn't coming this year.

It's not like Apple doesn't want to do this or is cheaping out on doing this. One big downside of being such a huge company like Apple is that new tech such as LTPO displays for Smartphones (only available on Galaxy Note 20 Ultra / Fold 2 at the moment) usually isn't available for the huge amount of units that an iPhone model requires. If a certain tech has no manufacturing capacity yet for a huge product line like an iPhone then it's not going into an iPhone. It's easy to source and use new tech with low yields for an Ultra phone that's going to sell maybe 500k-1million units, but for a 10million+ phone like an iPhone the capacity just isn't there sometimes.

so if it's 60hz then is the phone discounted - i doubt it
i can live with 60 but 120 sounds good

A man who has his knowledge in screens and display is someone prosser should listen to rather than doubt his knowledge of what the 12!pro has promotion or not

Either way, Apple will be telling us it’s the best selling iPhone ever.

When iPad Pro had 120fps years ago, I would have thought iPhones and MacBooks would have had it by now.

Apple did a good job with the Retina displays rolling out across the line quickly but 120fps roll out has been a lot worse.

It’ll probably be by revenue due to increased prices unless WeChat is banned from the AppStore and the upcoming recession is severe.

I really just want a new phone to replace my 3yo X. However, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the X and leaked 12 Pro. The 120hz i feel would be something that would tip me over the fence. I would rather they delay it 1 or 2 months, and then Apple can have my money this year, or I'll wait until next September then.

Just stupid considering even 700 bucks devices have it by now and what is taking them so long anyway? The iPad got it years ago. You would have thought the iPhone follows a year later but nope, never happened

I would guess the backlash of dropping a major feature would be far greater and lasting than simply saying the Pro model comes out in November. with dropping the feature you've written it off for a full year. Delays in 2020 are not really something people are complaining about.
