You want to talk indecisiveness. lol I first got the 12 Pro, missed the big screen then got the Max. Felt it was too big/heavy but the Pro still felt small and wanted a bigger screen without the boxy, brick-like feel of the 12 Pro Max so I retuned it and just ended up getting a used but mint 11 Pro Max from Swappa (I already sold my XS Max so I couldn't go back to that) and I love it. Still got a big screen but feels much better in hand, battery life is identical, camera is almost the same and I saved a few hundred bucks :)
This may be the first year since I've been on the payment plan I don't upgrade. I love my 11 Pro Max, I just can't stand the weight. But the Pro and even the Pro Max this year aren't jumping out at me

I agree. Look at the new Samsung S21 Ultra, it's bigger than the pro max and no reviews complain about that. Take the same website, open the review of the iphone 12 pro max and the samsung s21 ultra anche check how many times they repeat "big", "huge", "massive". It's a nonsense to me too.

Slim corners makes it easier to hold but it’s taller and a bit heavier but once again it’s grip doesn’t feel as wide. My 11 pro Mac is wide with a slim case on it.

Apple needs to slim it down a bit on the 13.

Even reviewers like MKBHD who always chooses the biggest model of any phone said he went with the regular 12 Pro this year because the Pro Max was a little too big but has no problem with phones with similar screen sizes like the One Plus 8 or Note 20 Ultra. I think that says alot.

It's totally subjective and a matter of personal preference - that just happens to be his so I don't see it saying a lot.

Yep, I got the 12 Pro initially, then when my wife got her 12 Pro Max I .... I uh... I had to get one too - then gave the 12 Pro to the mother in law.

Kinda wish I had kept it. It was a great sized phone.

Sold my iPad Pro 11 (2018) to my sister... got an iPad Mini 5.... returned that to get an iPad Pro 11 2020 ...

My indecisiveness has been horrific this year, LOL.
its the pandemic! lol

I have a 12 Pro Max. When I opened the box, I was actually disappointed that it wasn't bigger. It is heavy but I wouldn't mind a screen that's even a little bit larger.

I felt exactly the same way. I still feel to this day that my 12 Pro Max is too small. I’ve been using a case since day 1 by the way. I would love a 7 or 7.2 inch phone.

“Too” anything is definitely subjective. In my case, it’s a little bit wider than I’d prefer, but I bought it for the bigger screen and battery. So, it was to be expected. It definitely teeters the line of one-hand ability for me. Gone back and forth between 12/12P/12M. Prefer the feel of the 12/Pro, but battery and screen take the cake for me.

You would like a phone the same size as an iPad mini?

Who am I to judge...

What a load of nonsense has been written about the size of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It's enourmous! It's on the edge of being too big! It's too heavy! It hurts my pinky! I've been reading things like this for 2 months while waiting for mine to arrive. Now I have it, and I'm wondering what the hell everyone is talking about.

Coming from an iPhone Xr, this device is absolutely not too big. It's only a tad larger. After a few hours I didn't even notice the size difference anymore. And the issues with the pinky? C'mon. Seriously?

It's been well established that on the internet, the flock tends to run with the opinion that was first posted. I'm guessing that's what happened here. Some reviewers said it was too big, and many just went with it.

It's nonsense. Absolute nonsense. This device is awesome.

/rant :)
It’s all personal opinion at the end of the day, do calm down. It’s too big for my tastes and doesn’t interest me at all. Life goes on and we buy the iPhone we all prefer.

I had the S20 Ultra and the 120hz with the length to width ratio beats the 12PM. But the 12PM beats it in ever other way.

Hate narrow screens, the width of the screen on the pro max is perfect, more comfortable when typing on a wider screen.

Biggest problem I'm finding with my 12 Pro Max? Every case I've tried outside of the Apple Silicon - has made this phone feel a bit too big for me. The Apple Silicon seemed to fit like a glove. Using this phone naked (the phone, not me) seems almost perfect but I have really dry hands so .... way too slippery.

Haven't really found a case that I really like (that doesn't add to heft or slipperiness of the phone).

Seriously considering going nekkid with this phone (first time since iPhone 5).
Try the Caudabe sheath. It’s slimmer than the Apple cases and looks so much nicer for about 50% of the cost. Never rated Apples efforts with cases.

I luster for the size of Max, but I don't think I could live with the weight. Even the weight of my 12 Pro is starting to become noticable and make me second guess if going for pro was the right decision. Apple really should reconsider their use of stainless steel in the pro-models.

I’ve seen them and wouldn’t even call them big let alone too big. Apple needs to get something up there with the galaxy notes.

The size is perhaps just one of the reasons ‘everybody’ who likes iPhones doesn’t buy the 12 Pro Max. Not everybody likes big phones I think we can all agree but the other huge stumbling block is the £1100 ($1505 equivalent) price tag! You have to really be sold on the features this phone brings to want to spend that much I think, and that is if you even like big phones. Fortunately I’m happy with non Pro iPhones so it’s never a dilemma I face.

I had the iPhone X and was in doubt about getting the 12 Pro or the 12 Pro Max. But the differences in the cameras, and the battery, made me go for the big version. And I don't regret it at all.

We all are different hence we’ll have different opinions.
Opinions on size and weight from people who haven’t held and used the device for a bit should always be taken with a grain of salt...
